This evening i'll have back my Polaris and i want to flash the fastest ROM, i don't mind the programs it has, i use SBP Shell 2 and few other programs.
IMHO Bepe's Basic can be the fastest.
WWE or ITA for me is the same, even if my english isn't too good
Thanks for your opinions.
i have tried ervius vega r0 and bepe .65 and .67 both basic
The fastest imho is bepe .67 basic (ITA of course)
Tested with the same apps, nothing to say, bepe is fastest
Thanks my presumption seems to be right.
and 1 last thing. In all the 3 ROm i have tried, when I have installed Schaps Advanced Config, the boot time became very very long (the device go in standby be4 finishing the boot)
I don't use it, thanks in any way.
I tested Bepe's standard roms, swtos's roms and ASerg WWE rom:
the 'fastest' i found was ASerg WWE's rom.
Cheers.
Thanks, other people said the same
I think the faster rom is Swtos's Ultra Light v09 .
Faster than Aserg's & Bepe's roms and more stable.
(Tested with same apps and optimizations).
Thanks again Swtos !
Thanks i'll read Swtos ROM Topic
The udK I use actually is really fast, maybe the most fastest I've used (I've used the Bepe, Swtos and some other dev. ROMs..
WM6.1 CE OS 5.2.19209 build is fastest ROM at the moment but do not use one with to many applications.
Thanks everybody for your opinion
Hi loris...
I've tried more some rom(all beppe, infido, udk, pdaviet..) and i may say you that the most fast and stable is the last standard Bepe... the second post for Udk!!!
Great job guys!!!
Hi my friend i've choiced Bepe 0.67 Standard and it's very fast and user friendly with SPB Shell 2
Roby ma va in mona e parla italian
ASergs ROM is probably the fastest, but not the nicest... I somehow dislike even the Light version.
swtos ROMs, especially the naked ones, are quite fast but on the other hand, they really are naked, the tradeoff is quite big and there is nothing left anymore
bepes ROMs are in the middle, well equipped, thought through, but not on par with ASerg or swtos naked stuff.
Right now I'm on Udk Vega R0 and it's like bepe, not the fastest, but not really slow either. And quite nice, looks good and the (very few) apps included make sense...
Thank Schaggo you're, as usual, very exaustive

So we have 3 different WM6 ROM's. Which one is you favorite?
Helmi
Xplode
PDAViet
I've tried all, but now returning to use Helmi's ROM as I found it's more stable.
Anyway, thanks Xplode and PDAViet for developing choices for us. I know many people chose yours.
viet one is just what i need
It seems that pdaviets and xplodes are of the same build and is an update to helmis rom. I personally have tried pdaviets and it is faster and a lot more stable than helmi's. Internet browsing is faster, multitasking is faster and a lot more stable. I can't wait for pdaviets final rom to come out.

Ooops, after posting the comment, I found that I haven't tried the new version of PDA Viet's ROM yet. Tried it and found it's great. Yes, it's much better than I expected. I love the welcome screen, the theme and X button functions (much better than the other two).
By the way, the new Xplode's ROM BA_5.2.1933_AKU_0.7_R0-xplode-fixed has quite old version of File Explorer like in WM5. I prefer the one in Helmi's and PDA Viet's ROM.
Sorry PDA Viet, I cannot change my vote to you now. Anyway, I like your ROM a lot.
Cheer!!!
Im with Helmi's...
his work is the Best...
being the first....
being better over fixes and updates arent being the Best one....
just making them look like a fly over a giant's head,
metaphorically speaking.
so i'll go with Helmi's pioneer WM6 ROM for BA.
I prefer Xplode....I always like his work...
I'm using Xplode's because it is much faster than Helmi's, and because I have the same device as Xplode so I know the ROMs will work well.

PV has 2 versions of ROMS... 5.2.1933 and 5.2.2000... Which one are we talking about?
I'm using PV 5.2.1933 now will try 5.2.2000 soon. This rom is fast, is there will be a kitchen for PV Rom???
Hello!
I have seen that there are pretty many roms to choose from. I would like to ask you which ROM you would recommend installing - from the number of posts I can see that bepe's rom is the most popular, but on the other hand there are also many complaints...
Personally, I do not have time to test all the wonderful ROMs you publish, that is why I would like to limit myself to only one developer (and his roms).
Thank you for help!
Best regards,
Theriel
For me it is the Bepe 0.67 - I have an O2 Orbit 2 Pola200 handset
Very stable and has the latest Radio stack and hard spl
Read my signature!
I'm with Jibreil on this one.
I've tried Bepe and swtos ROM's but ASerg runs faster and better for me than the others.
I would choose ASerg if it wasn't for all the stuff I do not use (Total Commander - I have Resco, PIM backup - I use sprite, don't need CVSD, nor voip, nor Advance Configuration Tool - I do it manually, keyboard - I use PCM, I don't need black bars.... etc).
Except for the fact it contains in majority things I would never use it looks very good .
You would not use Aserg, so which one DO YOU USE?
At the moment? None (i.e. original). I am waiting for bepe's new release (as he said some couple of days ago that it is going to be released soon) but well... if there was something better to choose I wouldn't wait then .
Hi guys,
I have been using Beta: WM 6.1 by bepe, Build 0.65 but I just tried GPS and found that I never get a GPS connection with teh BEPE Rom.
I also saw that BEPE left that rom in the current beta state and moved to something else.
What rom would you recommend as being mature, robust, and fully functioning for my Polaris?
Version 0.67
Version 0.67 is there as well, works well.
but the gps does not seem to work on .67. I cannot get a gps lock from Googlemap or Tomtom, but both worked fine with the standard ROM

The good one for me (PhamQuang ROM v1.60.08.24 CHO HTC POLARIS).
Very fast and nice. You can try. Good luck.
check my signature ;-)
Not perfect but udK is working hard and fast. In my concern, it is one of the best actual ROM.

Thanks

UDK R6 doesn't work for the moment
Yes, we will see tomorrow (i think)!
I doesnt tried R6, but i tried R4, khanx, c_shekbars and much other ROMs... Now i´m using 3LIT3 II and this is the fastest ROM for last year i used...

but there is a download link?¿
R6 cannot be flashed at the moment, it freezes during customization;
Comparing UDK R4 and 3LIT3 II i was using both roms are pretty good - 3lit3 was on my polaris slightly faster, UDK solution seemed to me more complex;
Eagerly awaiting working version of R6
have just seen the customization problems in R6
too soon to see then
For me 3LIT3 II is a winner, seems a lot more bug free than any of the recent Syrius ROMS... Even the RSS Hub doesnt have that weird scrolling bug, nor QuickGPS failing. I couldnt even run realplayer on R5 (I use it for BBC listen again files)
Also seem's faster and smoother as well.
Hopefully I'll try out R6/7 but considering udk doesnt have a polaris to test his roms on anymore, I think I'll go back to 3LIT3 II
Gullum's ROM is better and more stable than others.
But, it has not the new Manilla with Footprints.
3LIT3 II rulezz
3LIT3 II removing TomTom
Is it possible to delete TomTom on this ROM? I have it on my SD and I think it wil save some memory too.
thanks for the feedback

U can use Lite version where TomTom is not included.
When something is cooked into rom it cannot be removed.
Well chavonbravo says this about 3LIT3 II sys files 'Well, this sys/xip sucks. So much for trying non-official builds'. I've tried older ones and many issues disappear. Version III being worked on.'
I would suggest that the answer to your question is to wait for 3LIT3 III and a proper udK R6.
Personally, I think the whole footprints thing is a waste of memory, but I'm sure that others will find it useful. For me it's just a gimmick I can do without.
3LIT3 from chavonbravo is the best ROM
3LIT3 II is for me the best rom.....

I totally agree. I tried both and right this second both ROMs have issues and both are sluggish. I personally like udK's work and think that R4 was the best ROM so far. I think both ROMs need to be kept an eye on. Thanks.
go to c_shekar?
Yes c_shekhar's ROM is not suggish at all. It is butterly smooth.
AND he is coming up with new ROM with footprint..
GO for it>>>>>>>>>>>>

Not only him.
KhanX is doing the same and also switching to 1.60 drivers with 16 MB more RAM
Sascha
Regarding to 3LIT II, the only defect that I find in this ROM is the available memory. I think it has some unneeded services running, in addition to the 16 MB that you mention in the posts above.
Dear Senior Members,
Please, your help and support are required to have WM6.1.21054 Lite/Naked ROM for Polaris devices.
Can you develop Polaris ROM Kitchen to generate WM 6.1.21054 ROM, please?
We appreciate your works.

My dear .. It is 21054 not 20151. The 21054 is the leatest core. It is expected to be the last one for WM6.1. You can find it in: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547314
It has been cooked for other devices and the members are happy with it. It is will be nice to see WM6.1.21054 for Polaris. It will be nice from you to build it.

Yes - I am familiar with the build and sorry for my finger problems with the version numbers
You may be lucky and have some chef cook this sys in, however all of the Polaris chefs (pcarvalho here and tranminhman at PDAVIET) seem to be focussing their efforts on 6.5 ROMS - looking forwards and not backwards.
6.5 - is beta. Most of people prefer using FINAL product.
But beta 6.5 is much better, faster, stablest and user friendly than 6.1 FINAL

6.5 or 6.1 - the only FINAL product for Polaris is the HTC shipped version for Polaris.
All of the cooked ROMS contain bits from here and bits from there - hacked memory, apps converted from other models and resolutions...... on our device it's all beta really.
I agree with Petulinek - don't get hung up on versions. The 6.5 release by pcarvalho is stable and great, as is the 6.1 release from chavonbravo.
Petulinek, tried 6.5... Not impressed very much, but RAM amount is LOWER then in 6.1. Not good for me.
cr1960, any advanced user ALWAYS tune & customize MS stuff to get MAXIMUM. If understand me.

Hi Zillka - I understand what you are saying, but for a lot of work I don't see any of our cooks creating any new 6.1 ROMS, so I guess you have 3 options:
1. use existing 6.1 ROM; 2. migrate to 6.5 ROM; 3. cook your own 6.1 ROM.
cr1960, tnx for advise. I'm actually diging into kitchens and cooking, but its a little bit like "programming". I'm hardware guru not programming-oriented individual. If i can get HOW to USE kitchen (or customise existing one) to build my own rom, i'll share it. itje currently testing Touch-X for Polaris jn WM 6.1, and i'm waiting for his rom.
PS: Not all cooks like to share kitchens. So i have a little choise.
