heh the program I wrote to hard reset didn't help? (find it in the threads I opened)
I disassembled this shagdll.dll update
they use a different method to do the coldboot,
before this patch, I had two methods to hard reset
1) enter bootloader then task 28, this works without booting snapvue
2) send a special ioctl to WM via the EC, then snapvue will initiate coldboot, but for this snapvue has to be at least somewhat alive.
this new 3) method I have no idea about, it's sending different parameters to EC driver to do it, so it is possible that it doesn't need snapvue to be booted, though that must not have been easy to implement.
if someone tries it on a totally non booting snapvue it'd be interesting to know what happens

Hi.
I remembe that shagctrl uses shagdll.ldll (or similar) to turn on/off bt/wifi. Do you think is possible to do a little program that uses it to use it on xp? As you kknow we cant do it in xp .......
Thanks
Dani

heh that's like the standard dialog for clearstorage on snapvue. this is a HTC official patch so should work without risks. but this again makes me wonder if any interaction from snapvue is needed.
is his snapvue booting at all ?

shagdll.dll depends on EC driver to do these things so you need that driver on XP first. it is ecdrv.sys + all associated inf/pnf and registry stuff.
yes, yes, but I was talking about get/set status of wifi and bt. Tomorrow I will try those functions. Maybe the can turn on/of bt and wifi from xp. Do they depend of some missing component on xp?

Btw, the second screenshot is almost what it is, but couldn't find a better screenshot.
Allready tried it out, you can "control" your system using these plugins... Tweakers.net article (dutch) English for more information.
Download other plugins over here or using this URL for the Windows Sideshow, at the moment you can control your Powerpoint presentation (next/previous slide + preview) and control your Windows Media player (next/prev play/pause and see what you're playing + album art).
Also you can check your mail (which didn't work) and see your appointments (also didn't work). Looks promising.
Lolz i couldn't find a nice screenshot from the app for the Pocket PC so thats why i asked for the screenshot. It's looking verry nice i will try to use it. Thanks

SideShow on Touch Diamond
I hope you guys can help me here.
I tried installing sideshow on my touch diamond. The .net compact framework is already running, I installed the file above, and I paired the xda with my pc.
Although the xda is listed in my bluetooth devices it won't apear in the sideshow settings.
Does anyone have a clue or experienced similar problems?
thx dr_krohn
hi
try deleting the paring and recreating it as you have to have the sideshow service in the list on your phone under bluetooth or under the same on your computer also there is a newer one out there than the one posted on the thread.

I have the same problem when pairing my phone with Windows 7. According to Microsoft this is a known problem which they are investigating although there still haven't been any updates on this.

Hi,
To start off I`m using Garmin`s Kumara Touch - WM6 Premium. Just later I had the same problem I had before, active doesn't work. cables are properly plugged in, soft reset doesn't change a thing, when i go to My Computer -> Manage -> Device Manager -> Other Devices here appears Windows CE USB Devices with an exclamation point on it. As I was saying, I had the issue before and the resolution was a hard reset. My question is, has anyone encountered the same problem i had? because I don`t like the hard reset part. I have to reinstall everything I have in my PPC, I also tried a full back up via SPB Backup then did a hard reset then did a full restore, still the Unrecognized / Un-installed Windows CE USB Devices appears on Device Manager.
Can anyone help me with this. It would really be appreciated..
WMstorage works well btw, i can charge etc via WMstorage.

Hello Everyone,
I am not a professional or anything i am just a student. So kindly when you use the terminology make sure its understandable for a person with less knowledge about unlocking and stuff.
Ok here goes my problem, Its an I-mate Jasjar and its not turning on when i press the Power button. It shows USB on top and V1.00 when entering Bootloader mode. I dont know what am i suppose to do after that as i ran into a professional guy on msn and he showed me how to get into bootloader mode and he is too busy to help me out so i am here.
What i did was Its battery was low and i tried to Hard Reset it and now it wont turn on.

Kindly tell me what am i doing wrong i already Unchecked the USB connection in ActiveSync ....Whatelse am i suppose to do...please guys i really love this phone and cant wait to use it again.
Thanks.
ZODI.
hi ZODI,
you better kill the ActiveSync all together by using windows tak manager. I mean to kill the process called wcescom.exe on your PC.
Then reconnect your UNIVERSAL.
Wait a bit, then have a look in PC's Device Manager, if your UNIVERSAL was recognised and it should be listed within USB devices as HTC USB Sync or similar.
If so, then do a reflash one more time.
good luck
buzz
Hi ZODI,
you'd better kill ActiveSync all the way down, by using windows task manager.
- disconnect your UNIVERSAL
- kill wcescomm.exe process on your PC
- connect your UNI again and wait a bit
- check if display shows USB at the top of the screen
- in PC's Device Manager check, if the device driver (HTC USB Sync) was loaded
If all done, proceed and do a ROM REFLASH.
If not, you may also check at http://buzzdev.net/list.php?40 mainly those two sticky posts at the top.
good luck

Ok giving it a try ....hope it works this time and thanks.

I think i am gonna have find a Service centre and spend huge amount of my pocket money in just getting my phone to work
OMG .... i DID IT !!!!!!!!!!!! omg thanks guys i love you all
Love ya buzz from the bottom of my heart THANKS BRO !!!! and each and everyone of ya <3
This is a fix for people who are running WM 6.5 and are having the problem stated below.
Your WIFI automaticly turns off when u put your device into standby and wont reconnect instantly after you have turned it back on. you have to go to comm manager and manually turn it on and off.
this will fix that so when u turn on your device again, it will connect to your network automaticly without you doing anything
First step. Use a mobile registry software and go to the following
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Parms
2) create a string Value "EnableAutoConnect" (without the " )and set it to 1
3) set "allow suspend" from 1 to 0
4) restart your phone and now you should not have anymore problems with the wifi.
Hope this helps all of you and also let me know if you are having any problems
Value Type
Hey
I am not well read on reg editing and i was wondering, while creating the new value what do i set the "value type" drop down menu to.
Cheers mate
the value type should be string
Also i would recommend you to use the mobile registry editor because all you need to do is to have your phone synchronized and edit it from your pc.
Hope this answered your Q's. if you have anymore questions let me know

It's what i am finding. I will try. Thank you, shayan
I didn't have this problem. i really don't know what to do. i checked it again and worked fine. it could be the rom you are using.
It doesn't work for me either, same message.

Can you plz help ...
Just an FYI..
I'm using a Tilt 2. In fact, I'm configuring about 30 of them. And maybe 1/4 of them had this problem. It seems to be completely random. I havne't figured out how to fix it. All my phones seem to be exactly the same. I did have some different hardware revisions, but they didn't line up with the problem. I contacted HTC, they said they don't support registry changes.
WTF?
this isnt working for me...although im not sure im creating the string properly...
NOT
"DWORD" ? right? a string? and then just pop a 1 in there?
could u maybe make a screenshot of your 2 strings? so i know what it should look like?
sorry to all the people here.i have been really busy and haven't been checking my posts. this is for WM 6.5 with sense 2.1 that wont connect automatically. now that we have Wm 6.5 with sense 2.5. this hack is no longer needed.
+ Aman's sense 2.5 is faster than 99% of all the other Roms out there, especially the prime 3. if u can i would recommend u to try that if u have Hspl installed.
Sorry for this

True! You first need to install sdkcerts!
SDK Cert is a certificate used by the developers or programmers to sign the file/s you're using to make it/them eligible to be installed on the device. It's just like a consent from the developers for their OEM softwares to their users. To make the device accepts the file/s, the SDKCert have to be installed on the device for key matching purposes.
Hope this helps,
Senax
