O2 Xda Stealth, Wifi card not detected.

Hi guys,
Inherited a Stealth few weeks back but i realised that the Wireless option (to turn it on and off) doesnt work, nothing happens when i try to turn on my wifi, so i did a hard reset, but after the hard reset, it doesnt even detect or show up my wireless options. Any ideas guys?

What ROM are you using ??? I had a similar problem with my stealth for over 6 months after upgrading ROM....I tried every thing including careful changes in registry ....the problem was only solved after downgrading to the original ROM more than once ....I still get minor problems when WIFI wouldnot load but works after repeated soft reset ....I suggest you try to soft reset few times an see if this solves the problem....best of lucks....

I am using WWE_RM061208. Everytime i restart the phone it says, "Unrecognized card in slot" i am assuming this is the wifi card? any ideas? which version rom should i be using? It asks me to enter the device driver/name or something. thanks.

The unknown card is the wifi card....I used to get this notification daily for over 6 months when the wifi was not working .....Try soft-reset few times and if the notification disappears then wifi should work.....Is your ROM Original or cooked???? have you upgraded the ROM at all??

Yes i have upgraded the ROM from www.mwg.com but it doesnt really do much, some of the settings still are around. Any suggestion which ROM should i use? What ROM are u using man? I tried soft reseting a few times but it doesnt work, it still comes up.

The ROM from mwg is original and I used it for downgrade from wm6 (YUC)..... is the wifi working when you hard reset the device ????....I used yuc wm6 but because of wifi problem there, I downgraded from mwg and then upgraded again to yuc wm6 from here

Hello All,
Since a fortnight, am observing strange problems within Network (clogs) and Virus Attacks on my Internet Cable based connection. This is a 256 Kbps line.
Problem I can see is:
a) A script or attacked is launched from a remote server/machine. It's domain address is 222360.com. Attacks happened from union.222360.com, s.222360.com and now with v.222360.com.
b) Once the scripts is launched (.js script), it gets hooked within my browser (Firefox 2.0.0.11).
c) Then, my internet activity will be disrupted severely for some time!! (can't open any page). I am using "Adblock Plus" within Firebox to block this script off.
d) Is there is no script, an attacked is launched on the open HTTP ports or on Yahoo Messenger.
e) Ultimately, an attack is made in form or Trojan or Exploit to gain access or to steal information from my system.
I can see the following logs from the NAV 2007 firewall.

I have similar problems with my stealth..
But worse...
My wireless manager only shows Bluetooth and Phone..
No more Wi-Fi thing..
It happen when i downgrade it to WM5,i got it from mwg..
When i'm using Yuc's WM6 sometimes the wifi works,sometimes it doesn't..
So i decided to downgrade it..
But now i can't use my wifi anymore..

Anyone have similar problems?

I had a similar problem with wifi for over one year . I had to down and upgrade my stealth 3 or 4 times and finally worked alone after repeat soft reset ...another problem is that you may see wifi icon but doesnot work on pressing it...try removing the battery for 6 to 12 hours and restart again...now at this time I did soft reset for my stealth and the wifi didnot load but iam sure it will work after few hours or tomorrow

Actually i would like to ask somebody's help about ZiIME.CAB.. i deleted phoneime.dll but still can't delete zisip_Opt.dll.. it said "Cannot delete file ZiSip_Opt:the file may be in read-only memory,on a write-protected disk,or currently in use by another applications"
is there another way to delete this file?
Secondly how to kill "cprog.exe" in Task Manager?
Another silly question is can somebody upgrade O2XdaStealth GPRS Cellular Data Link to 3G or 3.5G..or is there any Booster for Internet connection?

[Q] Can't activate Wifi.

Hi,
It make some week i had problem to activate wifi on my HD. On comunication manager, it try some second to activate it, but at the end it still desactivated.
I try to flash rom (some french rom, some english rom, wm6.5, wm6.1...). I try also a lot of radio rom (1.14,1.13,1.12,1.09) and hard reset, but it still doesn't work.
I installed Wifi Monster wich tell me that no Compatible Wifi adapter is found when it try to launch wifi.
If i find no solution i can try to send it to waranty (which mean i'll need to put off all cooked stuff..), but as i go to travel next week, i'd like to find a solution for don't have to use expensive data connexion.
Is someone have one brillant idea ?

Have you tried using wm wifi router or HTC wifi router?

thank for your answer.
I try both solution without result. On wm wifi routeur, on first startup, it said wifi was not found and ask me to select an interface. I had choice between TNETTW12511 and WWAN1. I try both, but don't work. I start connection sharing but don't see asociated acces point. (wifi stat is at 0db).
Same problem with the other softs...

no other idea ?
I use SD card flash method with olinex SPL 1.56. Is it possible the problem come to that ?

Sounds like the wifi chip is dead - lots of people have reported the same thing happening, and the only option is to send it back to HTC for a repair. We had it happen to one of ours - never found out what caused it, but the camera died at the same time.
The people who've had repairs and looked inside say the boards have been replaced, so it's not just a flashing/firmware issue. Some suggest the design is bad and the antennas are just too close to the chipset, but of course HTC won't comment on that idea.

I'll send it to htc when i came back and i'll use data til that, but it will cost a lot ...

problems with wild puzzle rom
ok im hoping someone could help a bit.. i desperatly need it my phone is completly down...im using wild puzzle v0.7 ,i installed it ... got my 160 MB free... i was using Uninor (India) as my network operator back then(My data connection was working well and fine then)..... after that i changed my card to vodafone....and i started having probs.... my phnoe started hanging frequently(like 5-10 mins of startup) frist i thought it was coz of my apps bt after a fresh install(i.e. no apps installed) also the phone used to hang... then i removed the sim card and switched on the phone ..... deselected the data connection option, again inserted my sim and the phone was working fine for an entire day ... it finally came to an end when i switched on the data connection.... i got my sim card replaced bt nothing changed .... ive done a fresh install nearly 10 times in the past 2 days (that includes installing all the apps manually) bt everything has been in vein.. bt then again my uninor card works properly .. plz help... i donno what to do... i really need this rom coz i want that 160mb free space coz i use alot of apps... also, a question out of the topic.... is there a way to include all MY apps (APKs) inside the rom's RAR file so that they get installed while i flash the rom itself???
also if somebody is willing.... then i'll upload my backup... plz download it and run it on ur phone to see what the prob is...

It may be just that your using HSDPA(3G+)
Go to settings > Wireless > Mobile Connection Settings > here there should a option for WSDMA or GSM, it's set to Auto normally. Try set it to GSM. Some places don't have a good connection to 3G and therefore your calls keep getting dropped. All this means is that your mobile data connection is gunna be slow but you should have a good connection. You could change it back anytime.

I've seen a few people report poor data connection for voda india, using the method below should be fine, but then it's a real shame because you are not getting the full potential

Since 3G is yet to be implemented (Or rather, just being implemented) in India. All services currently use the GPRS Standard. Setting it to GSM only shouldnt be a problem.
BTW, I am using Vodafone India since the day I got my Wildfire, and have zero issues with it, be it with normal telephony, Vodafone Live, and Vodafone Mobile Connect. (And the required setting in my case is set to GSM/WCDMA Auto)

@pyroblazer, did you wiped cache, data, factory settings etc before flashing ?

yes i did do a full wipe...also im not using 3G...

[Q] bluetooth/wifi does not connect

so i have am htc leo , enrgy rom, radio 2.15.50.14 rom version 27.dec.2010 wwe,
i can't make my bluetooth work or wifi in normal rage , bluetooth works only within 5-10 cm no more and wifi... 30-40 cm ,it sais that cannot find device/ network etc.. i'm from romania, and some dude told me taht i can't do anything because i have a t-mobile ... true? my batery life and orange internet conection is greant ,signal also, no problem with the phone at all just this ones.. but enought to regret buying it i never tested with stock rom....
sory for my bad english .... if u have a clue what to do.... please help

Not sure if I can offer a lot of help here but just to be sure you have checked all of your settings haven't you? Did you you flash the ROM to the phone or was it on the phone when you got the phone?

i bought it with an older energy, ies i checked all options ... the problem is the range ... it works just fine when is near (5-10 cm) for example to send a video i need the other phone on top of mine if i lift it at a certain point stops if i let it dows the transfer continues... a simple question would be the radio version affects also wifi and bluetooth ? could be a problem form wrog instal a rom from old user ?

AsFor your question yes the radio does control WiFi and Bluetooth and maybe a different radio version would help you out. But be aware if you have a T-Mobile HD2 you can not flash a 2.04.50.zz, 2.05.50.XDA, or any x.xx.51.xx radio to they will brick a TMOUS HD2. Go to the HTC HD2 Master Radio Thread to download different radio versions. Here is a link to it.

Also you can try doing a hard reset of the HD2 by holding down the volume up and down button while powering on your HD2 and it will bring cupcake stern with instructions on it. Just follow the instructions on the screencto reset the HD2. Make sure to use Microsoft My Phone or a equivalent app to back up you personal info before you hard reset your HD2.

sounds to me like a hardware problem. this is because (i think) the hd2 uses the same antenna and/or chipset for bluetooth+wifi. i remember reading some threads in which people posted the exact same symptoms as the OP and the problem turned out to be some loose/broken antenna wire inside the device.

[Q] Live ID problem with soms ROMS on HD2

Hello to every one...
In every rom I have tried (Pdaimayejam's, Dynamics', Stock Clean Rom), expect the one of Ansar's, I experience the following problem:
I set up phone normally after installation, my primary Live ID with the activation code given from MS, my facebook account and also Marketplace works like a charm.
But, after the very first reboot of the phone, the Live account can't be synced, and in messaging, phone tries to connect to my hotmail and facebook account with no success.It appears after some secconds of "connecting", a screen prompting " in order to gain access to live services and facebook account, to setup a Live ID accoount". Marketplaces keeps working and downloading apps meaning that my primary ID, still exists on my phone...
My primary Live ID still appears under Email+Accounts" menu, but it is like a ghost, it cant be synced (it says "attention required").
Also, the viber app that firstly worked fine, now in opening appears on top of the screen "Ooops, an unknown error occured. Please try again"
All the above, appear in both of my EU version of HD2, with several SD cards tested, with software and hardware radios combination ( 5.51 or 5.71 and 2.15.50.14 - 2.12.50.02)
And af course, as I mentioned, none of the above issues, appear on Ansar's Rom. I have tried several IDs and regions ( I curently live in Greece) but nothing so far seems to solve the problem.... I haven't found anyone facing similar problem or at least it hasn't been posted yet.
I know it is strange and that many factors may play a significant role for example 1)I read many complains about batt. life on WP7: (personally with 2.12.50.02 and 5.51 flashed on Ansar's V3 rom, I have more than 24h of average use). 2) I read about random reboots after installation but I never experienced a single one)....
So, thanks everybody for reading and I apreciate any solutions or suggestions....

but dont forget, HD2 not original WP7 device and many problems (almost all) is related to SD cards... SD card is main phone memory and if not compatible and not work very well users experiences many problems...
all new users want bug free ROM and all work perfect but old users which use WP7 ROM from first day learn to be patient because always some problems shown...

I appreciate for taking time to answer but I have allready tryied a Transcent 16GB Class10, a Transcent 8GB Class6, a Sandisc 8GB Class4 and also a noname card of 4GB. All the above cards, as I was testing speed and stability and battery drainage, were working perfectly under Ansar's rom (even the noname card that was taken from an old cell phone of mine)....
How could I believe that I experience a memory card issue? But I don't complain... Most users as I read, have to charge their phones twice a day when I managed to have an over of 25h of standby. So, one can't have everything in that life!!!!!

After allmost 7 hours of flashing, flashing and flashing, I solved the problem I had:
I just had to set device name as HTC and also change MP for HTC (from Lumia 900 that appears in about menu), and then my phone could hold my live ID data and work as expected. The 8862 update also seems to have improved battery life time. So everything now works fine.
