i have an htc touch and the fonts on the "Voicemail" and "No Unread Messages" are rather hard for me to see, i rather not increase the settings in control panel as i don't want to make all the fonts bigger.
where can i manually hack "Voicemail" and "Messaging" today plugins, where should i be looking? i would like to just make them bold.
also, is there at least a way to make Voicemail and Messages on a single line? any sort of plugin?
thanks.

Same here. I've been looking for an answer to this question for awhile now.
donno if this is what you need, but in the Sounds and Notifications menu under 'Notifications' there is Event box. Selections include a 'Messaging: New Text Message', select that and uncheck the 'Display Message On Screen' box.. then you wont receive the default pop up box displaying the text message..only pocketcm will pop up...
I assume in pocketcm setting you turned its sms off and set it to use original sms program?
I get a number of notifications for tasks that are due, calls to attend, new emails, other appointments etc but they don't seem to be very nicely handled on the Touch HD.
I had an Excalibur before and that presented a screen with all the notifications listed that you could delete or postpone.
On the Touch an icon appears, the you have to select another alerts icon, then you get one alert shown at the bottom of the screen and when you have dealt with that, the next one is visible.....
Have I missed something native or is there a better notification manager application?
TIA

+1 this is annoying
why did they remove the usual popup and event-based softkey remapping
+1 same here, there should be something better for handling those popups
I thought i was the only one. Is there some way that we could fix this issue?
phonealarm
Have a look at pocketmax phonealarm which handles all notifications in a very flexible way.
Well pocketmax is not free, and as the notifications were pretty ok in the stock OS... I think there must be a way to get rid of the roadblock that prevent these to happen as usual without adding another 3rd party
Same here, it is ****ing annoying to press 3 buttons all over the screen just to turn alarm off.
Someone posted on Friday I think a tweak to settings to allow the pop ups to appear better....
start>settings>Sounds&Notifications>Notifications (choose Messaging: New e-mail message) then check the Display Message on Screen box. Repeat for Reminders etc.
Still not perfect cos you don't get the message on screen if it was activated whilst the device was locked.

Nice one (and so easy.... )
Hello guys!
My first post on this forum, please excuse me if this has already been covered, but I don't see it anywhere..
The sms preview screen is driving me nuts... I always click on "All messages" to see threaded view...
Is there any way to mod the phone so it just goes STRAIGHT to "all messages" in threaded mode when you click on the text messages icon?
Are there any cab files available for the issue? I don't see a way to disable it right on my phone out of the box...
Many thanks!!!
BTW. I'm talking about the simple black screen with white font that pops up when you move the slider on the home screen to "Messages".
That black screen is so freaking annoying!!!
Bump, Anyone?
well....
well i dont know of a way to make the tab go straight into all messages, but you could uncheck the show messages tab in settings=personalize home tabs and just add a shortcut for messages to your homescreen
DUDE!!! That was one of those things that was right in front of my face but I didn't see. Excellent call. It's an even easier way to get into messaging than what I was trying to get.
Cheers!
i use CHT so i disabled the tab and set the defualt messaging client to the message icon in my start menu

Does anyone know if there is a way to make HTC SMS messaging default to 'All Messages' (ie. display the list of 'Conversation mode' texts) rather than bringing up the last message when you select the SMS tab?
I'm sure I saw something about this on this forum a long whil back, but after half an hour searching tonight I can't find anything.
Can anyone help?
Cheers
anyone??

You want to show up the complete HTCMessaging directly in the Tab? That is absolutely not possible.

To clarify, what I want is that, when you select the HTC messaging icon on the tab slider at the bottom of the screen, rather than displaying the last message (incoming or outgoing) and giving an 'All Messages' soft menu item at the bottom left, I want something that displays 'All Messages' straight after selecting the HTC messaging icon.
You might be right and it may not be possible, but I live in hope.
I would love this functionality as well....nothing doing though?
You can't change the behaviour of the tab slider, but you can add the "Messages" app as a quick link... this way, when you click it on your homescreen, it takes you directly to all messages...
So when setting up the people widget, is there a way to set up a shortcut that automatically calls someone, and another shortcut that automatically texts the same person?
Say, for example, I set up 2 different people widgets, on 2 different screens. On one screen, I have the people widget full of people and it's set to automatically call them on their mobile phone. On the next screen, I have a people widget with all the same contacts, but it's set to send a text message instead of call.
Is this possible? I can't figure out how to change the default action on 1 of them in the widget without changing it for that contact in all of the widgets.
It would sure be nice if I could have a screen full of contacts that have the default action as a text message, and another screen with the same contacts with the default action being to call them.
I set up 2 different groups- 1 called VIP, and the other called VIP text, but changing the default action of a contact in one of them changes it in the other too.
Sure you can do that, only don't use the widget. go to home screen long press, then select shortcut then person, then select your contact then when the contact screen comes up select a number then that shortcut will be put on the home screen, if you select one of the message numbers then that shortcut will text somebody. the other option is to use the quick contact option at the bottom of the contact screen this will put a shortcut icon on the home screen when you touch that icon a submenu will open that will give you the option to call text email or even navigate to that contact, there is also a subicon that will allow you to go to that contacts contact card, play around with it im sure you will find it is very easy to set it up the way you want.

Yeah, I know you can do it that way. I am trying to use the Widget though because it lets you add a whole group. If I could get it to work the way I want, I could add a group for calling, then a group for texting in another widget, and be done. Doing them 1 at a time takes a lot longer.
I replied in your topic at AndroidCentral, lol.
I've heard that the People widget can cost you some battery %'s...
The HTC People Widget scrolls though and lets you organize it by groups, so... I guess it's better in that case.
