Does anybody know if there is any way to disable the highlighting of a tab when it is selected in Ultimatelaunch? I'm trying to get rid of the semi-transparent box around the current tab. I still want to keep the transparency effect of the icon though.

That option is under the HEADERS tab.
I only see the options to change the color of it under headers. I am trying to disable it or make it transparent.
Change the height of the headers to 0% .

If you are saying you don't want to see the headers (and just use gestures or D-Pad to switch Tabs), then you can set the Header height to "0". But beware, the only way I could find (and it took me a little while) to get back into Options, was to run UltimateLaunchConfig.exe under \Program Files\UltimateLaunch\.

Jinx, Ya Boi D, you have to email me a Coke.
I don't want to hide the tabs. I just want to hide the highlighting of the tabs. I attached a screenshot of what I'm trying to get rid of. The little controller icon is the one that is currently selected. I want it so that the icon transparency changes but i don't want the highlighting of the tab to show.
Under the "display" tab, set the colorized background to: color: 0, blurring: 2
Thanks Lilburd. It doesn't totally remove the highlighting but it's close enough for me. I can live with it. I kind of like the little blur effect it has on the background.

well, i am working now on a theme (L'amour) like nokia one, and i have an issue with icons overlaping each other, the Hero Icon appears in tray and covers the main tray icon... please advice
Since your slider is transparent, the main icon will always show through. I think the only way to fix it would be to install an opaque slider or make your hero icon so that it completely obscures the tray icon.
use NisseDILLIGAF 3 icon menu..
basically it will make the Current tab icon at the bottom invisible, so you will only see the unselected tab icon..it works great

Wow. I hadn't noticed that.
Very cool...
thx a lot mates, really fast and helpful
I have been messing with some icons, most of the images are grabbed from google images and cropped with paintshop pro.
The set includes comm manager, call history and callender icons, if you use them. Included is a custom slider. I am just trying to get Nisse's 3 icon menu to work with the extra icons, so I'll update the post when and if I do.
Invisible tray icons on post 11.
Use at your own risk!!

Clear Ring Slider & Invisible Program Back
What it says in the title, the slider should work with all tabs.
I have tweaked the ring slider, moved it up and over a few pixels, it looks better so I have replaced the .cab with a new one.

Done a few more sliders

InvisibleTrayIcons
Following an idea suggested to me by Dynomite232 I have made a .cab with 13 invisible tray icons. This means that if you use this .cab you will only see the hero, the big icon which pops up in the middle and the one selected inside the slider, nice if you like your wallpaper!
Edits, I think it should work with any theme.
Invisible slider, good with these icons.

Glad you like it, it should make theme building easier if people use it with, only the hero to build.

Unique, thanks for the "no background in programs tab"...it works great. However when i use any of your sliders they are offset to the left of the screen by about 25%. I am on a stock sprint rom with some mods to TF3d (flip clock, taskbar icons, no curtains and icons). Do you know of any reason that this would be occurring?
nice work... I was thinking on doing this too...just a couple

I don't know the reason but It is no trouble for me to do sliders which would be offset to begin with and would therefore show in the correct place. Which sliders would you like to use? and I'll move them over a bit for you. Maybe you could post a screenshot so that I can see exactly how much it needs to be moved.
Predator Sliders
These are done at the request of mbord, see if you like them, I think the transparency is too high in er...the transparent one.

start - settings - menu - more - clock and alarms - more tab - click clock in all programs in the taskbar. Dunno
Go to the Settings Sense tab, tap Menu -> All settings; tap Clock & Alarms, tick the "Display the clock..." checkbox, and OK. It won't work if you've got something like the 1% battery taskbar hack set up, though.

I enabled the clock to be permanently in the top right and now I have no battery indicator at all!! I have no hacks running either.
So looks like you can have a battery indicator OR time display. Not both

Jep. A little sad that the icons have to be so big and clumsy on winmo... on android there is room for all of it + alot of notifications compared to winmo - even on the smaller 320 x 480 screens...

Yes, i've noticed that too. It's just so inexcusable, so basic and so simple and they've had SOOO long to iron these basics out, yet WM consistently throws up so many silly issue like this.
Doesn't fill me with hope for WM7!
tried, http://www.touchxperience.com/en/advanced-configuration-tool/downloads.html ?
Today
Single line Date plug-in
Show clock/battery on title bar
will try it soon, but don't have the time, maybe someone else can check it out before I do
Yeah they link at the bottom is dead. can some one plz halp us
this is with no doubt the best application to show clock, date and whatever else you may want in the top taskbar: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=612083
I have WM 6.1 and have recently changed my background to something that has some white in it. Now because of this and the fact that the start menu is transparent I can't read some of the text in the menu.
Before anyone suggests it, yes I'm aware of how to change the text color using the registry. I am not interested in doing this, I tried it and didn't really like it.
I am looking to do one of two things:
1. Remove the transparency.
2. Add a thin black stroke to make it readable.
Any suggestion that works is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Does anyone have any knowledge of what I can do here? This is really pretty obnoxious and I don't know how to fix it.

Actually, the start menu is not transparent, but rather it uses a piece of the picture in your background to make it look as if it was transparent. Changing system fonts might solve your issue. There are a few programs that will allow you to do that in Dev&Hacking. Also, I believe that mrMakk has a tutorial on how to do this.
Alternatively, you can try to change the menu picture by using something like Theme Creator v2 or Theme Generator v2 (I can't remember the correct name for the program).
Thanks man, I'll give the theme generator a try when I get home.
Theme generator only works on 2002. The themes it generates could not be applied to WinMo 6.1...
Anyone got another suggestion? Surely there is a way to change the start menu picture in WinMo 6.1...
When I select a picture and set it as a Today Background, it brings up a screen so that I could select a Transparency Level.

He is asking about the transparency of the Start Menu isn't he? When you click on Start it drops down a menu correct?
On my phone, when I go to save a picture as my wallpaper, I am able to change the transparency of the Start menu. I'm not saying that's the only way, that's the only way I know and it worked for me.
If I'm wrong, I apologize.

I really HATE the extra space that the slider tab bar takes up at the bottom of the screen
I know you can remove individual tabs (except home & settings) but this won't remove the bar or the home/settings tab.
Is there anyway to completely remove the tab bar?
Thanks for your help guys
cookies home tab mod has a retractable slider.
I think cht 2.0 you can completely remove the slider.

One picture can tell more than a thousand words!
Achieved with, as previous answers to you already mentioned, with CHT and CHT Editor. In the Editor there is a menu called "miscellaneous settings". Click this one and you will see the possibility "retract sllder". Set it to "ON", and exit the program.
