Must reboot IMate PPC (XDAII) after every call - HELP?

Hi,
I have an IMate PPC (XDAII) with the factory installed Windows 2003, and service from AT&T (Cingular). Starting about a months ago, I've had to reboot my phone after a call in order to make another call or to receive one.
Before I try hard-reseting my phone or reflashing the roms, I want to find out whether anyone has an idea about whether the problem might be software, firmware, or hardware related. The phone works great, I just need to keep rebooting to keep it working. Thanks in advance for any advice on this.
I have exactly the same problem with my Orange SPV M1000. I've searched the forum very well. I could only find the same problem and no solutions.
Please help us!?

have i got a dodgy rom??

ok sorry if this is really stupid but i am having problems with MMS - no please dont tut and hit the next post
problem - not working - "Dialed:Cannot connect for an unknown reason" - helpful!
things tried :
hard reset (yes left it to load all the O2 junk) still not working
O2_UK.cab from my Himalaya (which works fine on XDAII) downloaded from here ages ago.....no joy there either - do i need a different .cab?
manual settings from O2 website...nope!
anything daft that i have missed? i got this for the wife and its making me look silly :?
why couldnt she just get an XDAII!!! i can get that to work
from what i have read on here by reloading all the O2 rubbish after a hard reset it should have set up the GPRS and MMS but as it hasnt i am wondering if i may have been unlucky and got a corrupted extrom from new? i think it unlikely but O2 havnt registered the IMIE yet for me to be able to download the OS from their website or i would try reloading it.
please tell me i am missing something stupid or i will have to admit defeat and take it back to the shop!
ohh should add this is an O2 branded XDA mini with WM 2005, i never got MMS to work with WM5 on my XDAII but i figured as this was an official release that MMS "should" work out the box.....was i wrong? do i need to use a work around?
thanks for any help
hmm no replies?
surely someone else has had problems and if not then that would be of help to know
if there is anyone out there with an o2 uk mini that can confirm that the default from a hard reset gives working MMS with no other user changes then i will at least know that i have a faulty unit/ROM
would be apreciated
Sounds weird, if you have installed all the O2 cabs after a hard reset and it is still not working. In Start-Settings-Connections if you click on Manage existing connections for My Work do you see o2 Active? If that is there, and the settings are present in MMS settings on Pocket Outlook, it should be sending. If not, have you tried reflashing with the launch ROM from the my-xda.com website? It's exactly the same ROM as should be one, but maybe your Extended ROM is misisng something? Sorry I can't be more help, hope you get it sorted.

thanks, yes its a wierd one all right
all the settings are there and yes i have reloaded all the O2 active junk from a hard reset.
unfortunately as i only bought the phone yesterday the IMIE isn't yet registered with O2 so a cant download the ROM yet
oh well
thanks for the info at least i can be fairly sure that there is a issue with the device/ROM and its not just me being a plonker!
If you want the ROM you can get it without entering an IMEI

ok here is the update - and the solution
1st i got the rom using the IMIE from my phone (they only check the IMIE matches the phone no. - not that it is the correct model)
re flashed the ROM - still no MMS
thought for a minute then swapped SIM's and guess what, the plonkers at O2 have for some reason disabled MMS/Data on my wifes SIM!
so for anyone who gets a similar issue call your service provider and make sure the data service has been enabled! - though you might have expected them to have checked that when i first called them with MMS problems yesterday
hope this might help someone in the future

D'oh! Oh well at least you know it's not your phone and its easily solved.
well i can't believe they (O2) did this, i went through all this when i took out the contract a year ago so i know it was working before the upgrade so they actually disabled this when i upgraded!
its not like you might wand a data service with a device like the wizzard, is it

problems o2 mms

hi all im a virgin to this xda mini so please go easy on me
problem im having is that when my mini is running o2 software i cant get incomming bluetooth like files etc.
it works fine with blue tooth car kit & gps but if i try and send something to the pda from say another phone it simply says blue tooth connection failed ive tryied every thing 2 hours on the phone to o2 tech the lot
so i have now done a hard restart then when it boots up with the o2 stuff i did a soft restart this seems to make the pda work somuch faster.
now i dont have any problems with the bluetooth but i dont have any options to send stuff via mms ive tryied all the settings etc but no joy
i think im maybe missing the whole mms programme ?
any ideas ?
cheers
mark
ps how comes i can only choose a british flag and not english the scotish flags there so why no english lol
Yep, you are missing a cab to set up the MMS account etc. This has been asked and answered a few times before, try a search.
Good luck

GPR settings, bluetooth...etz

Hi,
I'm a new user of SVP m3100. Quite happy with .
I just installed WM6 BM ,And works fine.
But I can not connect to O2 GPRS I tried to get the settings, use some .CAB that I found on this forum, change the details ... So many times. And still can not use it. Is that because I still have the Orange software on it? If so, how can I delete it? (so I'm not seeing the Orange logo everytime I switch on my device..)
Another question is about BT. I don't know if anything wrong on mine, or is all like this but, there is no way to , for example send a picture through BT ? I can not uset either to sync my device, so I'm always using USB.
Is that for any reason? Is the Hermes BT like this..? so what use has it, just connect with handsfree and GPS ?
Thanks for help, and sorry if that has been discused on the forum, but I couldn't find the information to sold it out.
