Change software Keyboard - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi,
I've got an HTC TyTN. I succefully change the rom to WM 6.1.
I have found the solution to change from QWERTY To AZERTY the hardware Keyboard (I'am french) trought registry tweak !
But : i'am search information about changing the software keyboard. Any idea? I prefer the solution to use builtin keyboard instead of installing another third piece software keyboard.
Thanks in advance !

Can i change O2 Rom to work correctly with spanish keyboard?

Hi,
In the office I have a qtek 9000 spanish version (spanish keyboard). I have upgraded to O2 english rom. Everything is fine but the keyboard. Some specials keys (colon, semicolon, etc) doesnt match keyboard because the rom "thinks" my keyboard is an "english keyboard". Is there any way to change it? maybe remapping the scan codes? may be applying a pach)?
Thanks
Was just looking into this...
I was just checking the other forums on this and came across some interesting posts in the wizard section on remmapping keyboard by way of a reg edit. Here is the data pertaining to the wizard. You can probably do the same with the Universal. CREDIT GOES TO OAINOT for this.
Now we need a small registry hack.
1. Use a registry editor like total commander.
2. Go to \HKCU(HK Current User)\ControlPanel\Keybd\Locale.
3. Change the value of the key "Locale" from "0809" to "0407". "0407" is the locale ID for Standard German. You can find other Locale ID suitable for you at: http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/reference/winxp/xp-lcid.mspx.
4. Do a soft reset and enjoy. All the keys and symbols have fixed right.
Try this.
I found this info by doing a forum search for "QWERTZ" (the german keyboard layout).
Good Luck and let me know how it goes.

Change Keyboard QWERTY to QWERTZ

Hello,
I would like to know whether it was possible to change the hardware keyboard QWERTY to QWERTZ ?
Do you know a website for detached parts for the HTC Shift ?
I'am the english version of the HTC Shift
Thank you very much.
Same problem here, any ideas?
if you want to change the keyboard layout you find here some registry hacks.
(if you use a english rom with german hardware keyboard layout)
or you want to buy a new hardware keyboard with german letters? maybe I have a contact to HTC in germany where I can order a new german or Swiss Keyboard..
I have already searched for registry tweaks, but none of these works for HTC Shift hardware keyboard.
Do you try that?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424136
Yes, but it does not work (on HTC official ROM).
hmm.. do you try with search function on registry editor (you can use the free total commander registry editor) to search for your at the moment installed language code (maybe 409??) and change all entrys that you found to 407?, then you do a soft reset..
same here, i am on a wizard. tried everything. its only new rom's!

HTC Diamond keyboard

I've been trying a cab file which contents the keyboard from the new HTC-Diamond. But it didn't work without any problems. I couldn't configure the keybord options, the programm always crashed while trying it. Touch keyboard and keypad worked fine. The cab file is only for english and italian language, but I need it for a german device.
Has anyone got an idea how to solve the problem?
The new keyboard looks very nice. Bigger and finger-friendly buttons. It works like Iphone keyboard whith preview of the letter you're typing.

I'm sorry, what do you want exactly? The querty keyboard is one of the original ones. What do you mean by original t9? T9 is original.
If you can't speak english well enough to explain your wishes, just try and type very slowly, maybe someone will understand it!
message more illustrative
Thank you for your intersting to try help me
the windows mobile from Microsoft have simple keyboard and small do not have qwerty keyboard
I think qwerty keyboard an application add to the mobile rom from htc like manila
i had k-Jam and it had a simple keyboard which did not have qwerty keyboard
so the t9 was more useful for me than t9 come with qwerty keyboard.
i mean like suggest four word come in one menu at same time and very smart and fast and save any word i write for futur use.
the problem when the rom come with qwerty keyboard the style orginal t9 disabled
and come with style special for qwerty keyboard.
i dont know if you understand me exactly what i mean
any way thank you for your interesting

how to change Bluetooth keyboard layout?

I have succesfully paired a Nokia SU-8W Bluetooth keyboard with my HD2.
However the Nokia keyboard layout is Scandinavian (Finnish/Swedish) and unfortunately my HD2 does not recognize this.
Is there any possibility to also configure the HD2 settings to match this Scandinavian keyboard layout?
(P.S. I am using Fingerkeyboard 2.1 with touch screen Scandinavian layout, but does not in any way help with the Bluetooth keyboard layout problem)
No way so far, have to wait for a compatible version of Teksoft Blueinput.

when you press a button, does it use the english layout? if so, you can remap them.
Yes, the keyboard works without any problem when typing. The only issue is with the wrong characters for some keys.
Do you have a link to a thread where the key mapping is explained?
Hi Honkapuro,
Please, tell me how did you do to pair your su-8w on windows mobile.
I can't do it on my Omnia II...
thanks
