When I was with T-Mobile, I was able to register my phone number to use the "sign in to mobile device' feature of yahoo messenger whereby I could IM just by texting. Ever since I've been with Sprint when I try to register my number it says not supported. Anyone else having this problem.
Thanks
I had the same problem. Don't understand why it works on the same phone on other networks but not sprint. Was gonna ask Yahoo why but forgot about it.

What? I am not following you here. Google IM is free and other IMs in the IM client that came with the phone use SMS, Google is the only one that uses data. I use Google all the time.

I just installed gtalk on my wife's iP4,and it turned out that could receive message from my gtalk on atrix, but mine could not receive any message from the iP4. Can someone help me?
Yeah, you should give her your google account username
I've given her my account name, and nothing's wrong with that account name.
Honestly I would drop gtalk and try pingchat. My wife has a BB and when we tried to use gtalk a month ago sometimes we would send messages that the other person never received. It caused some headaches (I missed a message with the grocery list). With pingchat there's the sent/received confirmation indicators. Gtalk does not have it.
check any computers that you have google logged into. I've noticed that if i start replying on a computer, messages stop going to my phone. But the first message always makes it to all devices.
Quite simple, Google Talk uses an other implementation on android devices (variant of XMPP). Therefore, you should be able to communicate with Google Talk to/from your phone to/from a browser, but when using other Google Talk clients that rely on pure XMPP protocol, it doesn't work.
So as said before, use an other IM then the default Google Talk.

I noticed this too, however I still do not receive messages sometimes even when I log off google on my computer.
thx guys i really appreciate ur help. now i just change to IM+. and u know these days it's hard to use google service in china, it sux really.
the most weird part was, when i started to use another computer client to send a message, my gtalk on phone can receive that message. but when i came back to GTalkPlus on the iP4, it failed. so ,it's all about the iP4 client?
We saw the same behavior on my Atrix and my wife's BB 9000, so it's not just IP4.
Dont know if anyoine knows this but google talk(pc app) allows free calling to any number in canada and the usa. since everyone has a google account of course already to use android its as simple as opening gmail on your pc, then look for the tab that says talk. it opens a reg phone dialer and away you go. Not restricted to contacts, or nothing. Sorry if its already posted. I use wifi on my laptop and calls are fairly good quality, some static but its free!!
I have 2 yahoo accounts, I use the stock email app because I have comcast and work email that utilize that app as well. One of my yahoo accounts worked fine, no issues setting it up, the other I am getting an "authentication failed" message. Anyone else get that? Any thoughts as to how to resolve it?
Thanks
You can go yahoo support center. or again send authentication mail.. And please tell me, did you set up recovery mail when you create account?
This is what I did when everything else failed.
Try to remove the sim in your current (faulty) phone and use a similar phone's SIM - if you have a friend whose emails are ALL correctly setup on his/her phone, ask to use his/her SIM. Make sure other phone (and SIM) have successfully setup all emails. Power down the 2 phones, use the good SIM to setup email on your (faulty) phone. Then change back the sim and you should be good.....
Just tried to install Google Voice on my PH-1 with Android Pie. I got nowhere.
I am wondering if privacy setting could have anything to do with it...
If anyone can point me towards someone that has it working that may wish to provide a little tutelage I would appreciate it.
Of course I have a gmail account. But when I installed, I chose the account then I see several pages fly by and then at the bottom is has a box stating to switch accounts.
I am more than a little clueless at this time.

If it helps you at all, I signed up for my Google voice number on the website before I signed into the app on my phone. From there it didn't require any other input aside from setting ringtones. I use it at my daily contact number.
It's working fine for me. Have you used Google Voice before on another phone? The basics should be the same. Once you get assigned a number that's associated with a gmail account, you should be able to go to settings in the app on the phone and set it up. The GV number and the phone number it's forwarded to are in the first part of settings.
