From WiKi:-
The HTC Atlas is a variation of the HTC Herald sold under T-Mobile as the Wing and under HTC as the HTC P4351.The only differences between the Atlas and the Herald are the external casing and the keyboard layout. ROMs for both devices are interchangeable with the only problem being the keyboard layout of special characters.

The Model ID of HTC Herald (P4350) is HERA100
The Project CodeName of HTC Herald (P4350): HTC Herald 100
can anyone tell me
what's the model ID of HTC P4351 (HTC Atlas) ?
Thanks.
Many People Are Using A Wing, But No One Would Like To Tell Me What The Model Id Of The Model.
Why?
I don't remember what it said when it was stock out of the box .. but if I remember correctly, its the same id.
I believe its still HERA100
Might be wrong though
It's very easy to know the model id if you have a WING on hand :-
- just take out the battery from the unit then you will find the id number.
hope some one can help.
thanks.

thanks GiZZy,
that mean the id is different from Herald.
Is there any other ROM (then T-mobile) available for this HTC P4351? I mean maybe WM6.1
For example this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335609

When this forum started it went by the device name Nike. As of now it is Niki. Which is correct?
yeah saw that too, I doubt it happened by accident, maybe someone got a letter from HTC ? ;-)
it's the HTC Nike, trust me, the Model ID code is NIKI, but this is definitely a Nike
Checked and Double Checked...
Its definitely Nike.....

Quite an awful name for a phone when you think of it...
So I have this build number in the "about phone" section of my sparkling new Hero: 2.73.1100.5
Is this the old one ? Because I try to download the 2.73.405.5 one from the HTC site and when I enter my device serial number it says that this update is not suitable for it ??
Soooo ... Thanks for any clarifications
It could be that if you have a branded HTC Hero like a T-Mobile G2 Touch, like me, that you will have to wait for the network branded version.

Hmmm it should not be branded, it's a simlock free phone, suitable for any provider ...
In that case, disregard my comment, as it's not that
What country was this from?

Disregarded ...
I'll have a more thorough look this evening ... Maybe the serial number on the box is different then the phone's serial number... Would be weird but anyway.
Anyone else that has any ideas, bring em on
reason I say is that it has been found that non english countries have different builds (for vaious reasons.) it is found that the version number is 2.73 and the rest after that is for localization
is this not the benelux build? That one has no youtube app, so prob that is why you can not update

I have a Chinnesse HTC touch, it is working very good and has windows mobile 6.1. I would like to load it a new ROM but I am not sure if I can damaged it due to it is not the original HTC.
Please help.
Just run the Elf Device Info tool found in this forum to make sure you don't have an HTC clone. If it is not a real Elf it will say "Unknown" and you will not be able to flash.
Result "Unknown"

I have used this tool and my results are "Unknown".
Is there any chance of flashing, can't I just format the phone and install all new software?

No. The hardware is completely different (at a guess, you haven't posted what it has inside, but it will more then likely be cheap parts and some marvell processor). If you did, it will probabaly brick the device, if it even found it to flash to it.
Personally, I wouldn't try, you have a clone. You have stated it works. I wouldn't want to brick my phone if it was a clone just to try a new rom. Again, this just highlights the point to not be swayed by cheap clones, they're just not as fun to tinker with!

That guide is for the HTC Elf(in), not the ELF Clone, you even say in your signature yours is an Elf, not a clone? You're also not the OP, can you confirm if yours is the same as the OP, or you actually have a HTC Elfin?
I think we all know that the HTC Elf(in) is an TI OMAP 850 201Mhz.?
I don't mean to sound mean, I am more confused...
I'm not saying that guide doesn't help with a clone - I don't have one...
(I have also realised you highjacked this guys thread knowing yours is an ELF when this is in reference to a clone for a start...)

You likely have a clone. Should be a 3.2mp camera too.
There is a thread for flashing clones, just search the forum.
(US phones do not have front cameras but are 512mb/256mb)

no, your phone is NOT real HTC. it is FAKE. you will not be able to install ANY Diamond 2 ROM. sorry.
the thread you should look for for the FAKE diamond 2 has tags with the T5355 i think. the ORIGINAL Topaz is T5353.
you bought a crap copy. sorry.

so someone else is making the Leo "COPY" aside from HTC?
should warn them.
Did anyone think about the use of custom ROMs that can change the serial mentioned in Phone Info?
Or is this serial placed on the sticker places under the battery pack?
this is his serial from the sticker on the back underneath the battery
Well than it's strange, if you ask me all serials start with "HT**"
