In one of the bepe's rom (maybe in others too) I found a nice option with the softkeys. On an incoming call they change to answer / silence and if you press silence it gives you an option to respond with predefined message. I want to use it in my current rom but don't know how to set it up or where to find it?
Can somebody help?
I too would like to know how to do this for my herald.

Hi there,
on my Trion PPC with WM5 I have tried to work out a way to mark an SMS as read, without opening the messaging app by the push of one hard key. So far I couldnt get it to work. Has anyone come across a way do it ?
Reason is, that on WM5 the message self displays for a while upon reciept, so no need to futher open the Messaging.
Greetings
Paddy
nice idea. i am also planning on adding this option for the application im creating.
any ideas?
upon receiving a notification, right soft button, and select 'save as read..'. Doesn't open the messaging apps, but not a 1 button solution.
The soft button way is obvious, but thats several clicks. Does anyone know how to assign a command under a short menu to a button ?
A One touch solution is what we need, its so anoying having to do so many steps each time you get the new sms pop up.
Greetings
Paddy
I would do it like noted above.. Add a button to the menu's of the notification .. and let it invoke a dll or application which uses MAPI functions to mark the sms as read.
i have window mobile 5 aku 2 rom installed...i do want to know how should i change pop up tone which appears when i send text message the pop up appears from Top just below network signal !!it shows me that ur last text message cost bla-bla amount (indian rupee 1)...really its very annoying becasue!!the tone which comes is notify.wav it always annoying after every message!!there is no option to set tone of this popup in sound¬ication settings!!even i didnt see any registry till now!!
main thing is it has disavantage too even i just disable every sound !!i mean if my phone sound profile is switched off..and when i send text meassage the pop appears as usual but it plays sound also..the sound of this popup doesnt switched... i want this pop up should appear but i want to change the tone of this popup!!
pls if anyone can help me to change tone of this pop up through registry pls let me know i will b highly obliged and thankful to everyone!!
instead of notify.wav i do want to put any soft tone which should b very soft and cool!!!
well if im not mistakend the defult sound when a message pops up is the msgbox.wav file but in either case. the best and easiest thing to do it to replace the file. i just checked it on my phone (htc x7500) and it worked but if you want to go the registry route goto
hkcu\controlpanel\notifications\default
Hi all,
it's maybe a little off topic but....
i'm using a very cool program called Magicall which basicly filters my incoming call and SMSs ...
this lovely program also gives a great informative notification of the missed call / SMS
which sadly causes a duplicate notification to be created (one by the windows and one by the program)
so ..... i would very much like to disable the windows's notification (it is much less attractive !, Magicall's notification shows you the number/cotact which called you without going into a list !, just by clicking the left soft button)
please help me (if it's even possible)
THANK YOU !!!
I think u shld better check notifications setting or else it is a default function for each and every phone to notify u abt ur missed calls.
I was wondering if there was any way of allowing voice command to still voice the notifications from the calander while the phone is on vibrate...
I dont want to have to switch a bunch of things in the phone when i walk into work to get it to work correctly... I also have htc home - schen 2.10 and would like to be able to actively switch through there for the different sound options...
is there a reg value that i can edit? or something with the htc home that i can setup to just vibrate under the last option in the menu to my custom settings to set to just vibrate and stop sounds and notifications but allow the voice command come through without issues?
Thanks,
Dan
You can use a "silent" ringtone and set the phone to ring & vibrate. There is one around called silent.wav -- you can probably find it if you search for it.
that will solve one of my problems, but what about silencing the notifications for text messages... i want everything to vibrate but the voiced reminders....
uhm maybe use the same wav file for notifications too?
notifications can play a sound and vibrate at the same time?
Check out settings>personal>sounds & notifications>notifications. The event option is a dropscreen and you can pick the different things to configure.
Cheers...
brilliant... i was looking for this before but had a blonde moment appearantly...
now, is there any way to setup the sound settings in the htc home to revert to different ringer settings with the 4th option on the page? so at work i could have it work as one setting, and outside i can select the first and i can have it revert to ring and everything as normal?
i would like to custom set the different profiles...
Problem is windows mobile doesn't have more than 3 profiles. If you want more your going to have to install a 3rd party program.
One of the most annoying "features" in almost every ROM I tried (and I tried a lot!) is that if you are in Manila's SMS or e-mail tab and press the call button (in order to open the dialer).. then the dialer will automatically dial the displayed e-mail or SMS sender's number.
Does anybody know how can this be disabled ?
Bump!
I start feeling that I'm really special - am I the only one having a problem with this ?
I have the same problem. And it is soo frustrating, i press the phone button and immediately have to press the end call button. Then type in the number i want to ring.
Someone notice this thread! It is probably an easy problem to fix for you experts...please help:d
Bump!
I would appreciate the solution as well.
Bump!
This problem is driving me nuts....I keep ringing the wrong people by mistake
