ANYONE wish to help with Idiot proof instuctions

Hi I have read and downloaded POFs USPL
But does anyone have the time for a further step by step guide to stop idiots like me asking.
DO we need to put the rom we want into the folder created from POfs USPL
if so what file etc if not then please help.
Confused
Cheers
That's what I thought too but when you put a ROM into that folder it will be recognized as ROM and prefered instead of using pof's ROM. So what you need for unlocking is already there, update with the present ROM.
After you have done what was looking like a complete ROM update you can do the actual update. But after updating your USPL will be overwritten by the provider ROM you will upload to the device. So this method has to be repeated every time you want to upload a ROM that doesn't match your provider.

Easy question for the pros: What should my ROM be before USPL

Hi,
Last month I flashed my ROM with apparently an old method (flash of a os.nb file). I want something more recent but it seems everything is now about USPL or hard SPL. SInce I am still new I will try the USPL
-For the previous method I had to go back to the stock RUU ROM before flashing, am I supposed to do the same before USPL?
-after you USPL how would you go back to the original RUU ROM.
I searched everywhere but could not find the answer to that, it is all about hard SPL, USPL is not much discussed beside how to do it. Please don't yell if there is a place with the answer. Just point me to it.
thanks in advance for any help.
I"ve always just flashed from the last rom that I had in and had not have any problems yet. I've dont it the os.nb way and the RUU way.
Hope this helps
Bodyman is correct. Flashing the USPL way is like flashing the stock RUU way. It doesn't matter what ROM you have on first.
thanks. Flashed and it is working.

Yeah, USPL seems a little safer than hard-spling. I went from stock to open touch 3.0. I seem to be having trouble going from open touch 3.0 to 4.0 though, but I'm doing some more research as to why it's failing.

R2A GENERIC_UK ROM Flash FAIL?!

I was running the R1A generic ROM on my Voda Xperia (not using HardSPL) and just tried to flash the R2A ROM when I got a screen full of red writing after the "OS" section. saying
"KOVSIMG.nbh - FAIL"
"UPDATE TERMINATE", "UPDATE FAIL", with a code "00018002" at the top of the screen. I am using the MicroSD method.
EDIT: Restarted the phone and it is continuing the update, I will let you know on status this time.
EDIT 2: Fail again. Any ideas?
Cure
Had same problem (same problem address etc)
Cure:
Re-download rom
Format SD
copy fresh .nbh to SD
Done!
Suspect it was bad byte or similar
Yeh
Hey, I did the same thing and got it working, very strange though.
I didn't redownload I just formatted the memory stick again and copied the same file I already had over. Put it back and it installed fine the 3rd time. How strange that it was the same address, obviously wasn't the file, because like I said I didn't download it again, used the same one.
I HardSPLed mine and it worked fine
whats the difference between hardspl and no hard spl?
Did you install the hardSPL correct version ?
Or did you follow exactly the Tutorial ?
I know that for the french version, I had to use the nbh tool to extract the OS image from the full image to flash correctly my X1.... Take a look in the Tutorial to be sure that this step was not necessary (from memory, if I remember well, the nbh step is not necessary for DE or US, but the best way is not to listen to me but to the tutorial). I personnaly flashed mine but in french & perfect flash !
Difference
The difference between HardSPL and no HardSPL is presumably, that I, without the HardSPL can only flash official ROMS be they Vodafone UK or GENERIC_UK, or presumably any other locale of Official ROM. Since the Vodafone UK phone does not come Sim Locked, there is no reason I guess for them to protect from flashing other official ROMS including the GENERIC.
Since I plan to keep my warranty I do not intent to HardSPL my phone and am happy to keep it to official ROMs as long as they are generic and not the utter ****e that Vodafone dumps on us.
As to tutorial I did not follow any tutorial, I simply copied the rom image to my memory card as Kovsimg.nbh, rebooted using VolDown+Power and followed the on screen instructions. I do not believe a tutorial is required?! Again, as I said, no HardSPL, so that entire stage and attached complications are irrelevent.

Need help with flashing my ROM

Hi...i wanted to flash my rom....got around the hspl thing...My touch2 shows hard spl while booting up with the tricolor band..but where do I go from here....What do I do now to flash my ROM....could someone please help me with this thanks....!!
You need to find the ROM you like from all cooked roms here in this section, put it on your computer in a new folder (it will be .nbu file), download the custom RUU, connect your phone via active sync, start the RUU and follow the instructions.

My mistake, it must be nbh sorry Find the custom RUU if its not in the zip with the ROM and follow what i said earlier
can anyone explain me this..?? I flashed my ROM to a glass one yesterday.....liked the dusk too ..so i flashed my phone to dusk...then i thought that it was all getting a bit heavy so i flashed my phone to the mega lite rom....then i noticed that all the programs that were installed with glass and dusk were there in the lite rom too....just to confirm i flashed my phone to glass back and when it was booting up i saw the mega lite bootscreen!! Do i have to do something after i flash my phone to get rid of all the stuff that was installed during a previous flash????
Nope, every new flash deletes everything from the previous one.
Ok i think in needed to hard reset my phone after flashing...that did solve the problem anyways...thanks

[Advice required] Restore to Original SPL from HardSPL

Hi.
I have noticed quite a few thread stating this already but I notice most of them does not seems to be suited to this device.
I'm pretty new at this so I apologise if there are terminology that I do not understand.
I'm using HTC Snap S526 (S521 non-camera edition). I need to revert back to the original SPL so that I can send for servicing.
I'm currently using the 3VO custom rom with HardSPL 1.17.
I notice in the 3VO thread as well as the downloadable 3VO package, there is the original SPL file "maple-original-spl-1.17.nbh", but there are no instructions on how to use it. Can someone please kindly guide me along?
Thanks in advance.
Update: I have tested the following by reading various thread by with no avail:
I have tried putting maple-original-spl-1.17.nbh/maple-original-spl-1.19.nbh in a memory card and renaming it to MAPLIMG.nbh, then run bootloader by holding the vol-down button when turning on device. I press power button to start flashing as instructed by the screen. However, despite saying "success", my bootloader still shows SPL1.17 Hard. What did I do wrong, is there any other steps I can take?
Thanks
download the hardspl file. inside the folder you see 1.17hardspl.nbh or 1.19hardspl.nbh....replace it with the original nbh inside the main folder. then simply run auto.bat
