Who can make iPhone style animation when running some app? (i mean when window maximizing at start)
iTask is the only thing that does that as far as I know
iTask is just flash animation
how else would you expect to get the animation? if the native app does not include it then you would need an outside flash based program to simulate it. the iphone OS was designed to accommodate this. windows mobile was not.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/GWE/Animate - Change to 1... after soft reset you will have really "nice" windows animations
Enjoy

iPhone OS called Mac OS X 1.0 Mobile
You can hack app start and play animation, before it will show up
Use iFonz!!!!!
id like this too. the iphone is so smooth. I was messing one yesterday.

I disagree. If you have seen Slither's lates cube it is all written in native language. No flash. And it has phenominal annimation. This can be done but it would take someone like him to build it.

Just tried it... But the animation is applied only to the new windows or for which of them are going to be closed...
For example in start menu you won't see any animation....
Use pointui
There is no (easy) way to enable system-wide window animation like on the iPhone because WinMo doesn't allow us to capture an image of an offscreen window (which you need in order to have that window animate into view). It is up the individual developers to implement functionality like this.
it would probably require someone aletering the simple code that allows us that cheesy box line animation and replace it with a code that captures the screen and alters the image before launching the desired program. since that window animation launches, we have to find where that code resides and alter it, im sure it can be done

PointUI is a great idea. However, what makes it unfessable is its footprint and memory consumption and memory drain. That makes it almost impossible to use it with other programs at the same time.
Ok, after thinking about it for a bit, it would be very easy for developers to make there apps do an iPhone-like transition on being activated. An example is the default TouchFlo Cube. It's not iPhone like but it's a transition. As for doing such a thing on being minimized, it can be done, but there is a drawback: the background will always be black. In other words, your app can shrink out of view but you won't be able to see the app behind it until it gets activate. You can see this when you close S2P and the TouchFlo cube.
Again, this is something that can only be done on a per-app basis, by the actual app developer. I think you could theoretically accomplish this system-wide using window subclassing but that would be SUPER complicated.

Maybe superfluous, but this is an idea I had for a launcher. This is inspired by the lens-eye feature from the excellent Comic Reader Mobile found on this forum.
- First picture shows standard launcher screen with lots and lots of really small icons. Small enough that hopefully all your programs fit on this screen.
- Second picture shows screen-area that is pressed.
- Third picture shows a lens that enlarges the icons close to where has been pressed.
This way any program in this launcher is 2 quick presses away. No more scrolling, no more having to leave icons out of a category because of space constraints.
Is this worthwhile?
If you want my opinion I think your idea is fast to launch items but slow to find them. I know that after some time playing with it, if you already know where it is you will launch it fast but....
I have another proposal for you . For my app I've done a couple of widgets that I call Bubbles (see attachment). The "flower" is initially closed and if you hold your finger in the middle it opens showing the icons surrounding, then draging your finger and releasing it over the desired icon you launch the app. thsi way if you are capable of grouping the apps into categories (grames, programs, comm, profiles, etc) you can access all those options with only one tap & hold .
I liked it, maybe a round lens with an animation will be more attractive
..sure, with dx 10 effects for your htc phones.

Haha, it is certainly not meant to look like this! I had the look and feeling of the lens system of Comic Reader in mind.
APBilbo, your system is really nice. Our systems look alike. I want to ask you if you have any programs where you're not sure in what category you like to place them?
Nothin, could you explain why menu's seem better to you?
it is hard to explain - quick menu revised my today plugins, so i do not need to waste today space, menu is fast method with small mem usage.
i know, htc is promoting its ****ty stuff and many users got it, but there are other options, luckily....
i like claunch, tho(tap on empty space shuffles to next hm, tab"..).
claunch is nice but...
a programm launcher like the scrollbar in manila would be nice... as homeplugin...
it would be nice ... because you can insert lot of programs
8x8 icons with claunch(as line with 18 px height) is not enough?
i said, that i am using many tabs in that 1 line - tap on EMPTY space moves to another one, do i need to see ALL icons at once?
nope.
my rom contains ~60-70 applications i've added to rom, besides system ones, you know
end of OT.
keep loving your manila's, guys...
ehhh.
It's called a ZUI my friend, a Zooming User Interface
To be honest, I like it, but I think only one level of zoom should be required. Too many clicks otherwise.
Chuck in some decent kinetic scrolling for if there were too many items to fit on the screen, and you're on to a winner!
Might have a look-see to see how hard she'll be to whip up a prototype...

Ulitmate Launch is a Today Screen launcher that works in a similar fashion to iLauncher or SBP Pocket Plus except it is much better. I have been using it for about a week and i am sold. It is far and away the most useful today screen app and it uses very little memory. You can also set it to not load tabs until they are activated saving even more memory.
Ultimate launch allows you unlimited tabs that can either be placed at the top or at the bottom of the launcher. The tabs can be switched with finger or stylus gestures or by touching the tab you would like directly. The animation for switching between tabs is customizable and offers a cube like spinning which will no doubt keep you playing with your phone more than you already do.
Ultimate launch is also able to nest other today screen plug-ins so you can have HTC home on one tab, Weather Panel on another.
www.ultimatelaunch.de is the website to go get this fantastic application.
You can use standard XP Icons to further customize your tabs and programs.
To find Icons-
Google of course
Deviant Art - www.deviantart.com Awesome site all the way around but many artists on here sharing thier works for free.

I have 7 tabs I have it set to spin as you can see I have it set to show all of the icons but blur the inactive icons.
Added some icons http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/111588/Ultimate-launch-icons-zip.html for you to use if you choose.
this was a good application too bad it has not been updated over a year now ... but i think spb mobile shell had used this idea to make it more useful IMHO
I loved this program on my Mogul...
Too bad he didn't take the next step and try to make it into what second today or TF-Detacher is...
Probably impossible to anyway...
I like it very, very much. Is one of the best ever.

LOL. That's pretty funny.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he was just trying to spread the word on a (at one time) great program
So I am considering starting an AOSP project. The idea would be to stay away from replacing AOSP components and simply improving them. For instance, CM replaced the stock launcher with ADW. This project would not do things like that although we would make improvements on such apps. So with this in mind, what improvements is the community looking forward to most? For instance, there are UI improvements like the reboot selector CM built but there is also core improvements such as making the system more stable, etc. So basically, as an individual, what improvements to Android would you like to see the most if I was to start this project?
One of the things I miss that comes to mind is the ability to see what apps are open and ability to switch between them. A reference would be the Palm Pre. It shows everything open and can scroll through them....more like Windows 7 cascade option. All open, running apps viewable in windows that can be selected and closed by dragging. Considering we can multitask, this would be nice to have if it can be done.
One more thing that would be sweet is a modification to the Power Notification Widget which allowed another row of widgets so more than 6 can be utilized.

Hmm... Itching Thumb does a great job of Palm Pre style switching. Definitely better if built into the OS. I'll look into it.
Automatic SMS splitting in the stock Messaging app when the message is longer than 160chars.

I actually like how Android takes care of it. The status bar/drawer shows active services (things that are actively running and doing something that may require attention) so it's easy to switch between those. Anything else that is running and isn't that important can be accessed by holding on the home key to bring up the recently used apps switcher. The apps switcher could definitely be more elegant but it's functional at least.

Hi all,
In the past a few mods have caught my eye, over time they've slowed stopped being available on all devices, mostly because of changes made to android.
Here's a list of the ones I liked most.
1. Screen off animation, the CRT on /off it just looked amazing.
2. List view animations, not completely gone but not exactly something you can just flash.
3. Halo, I know this was paranoid androids, but it never got ported over quite as much as I thought it would..
My question is are these available anywhere ? Any idea how to flash them ? Or even if anyone misses them like I do?
I know that CRT and list view can be obtained by flashing two Xposed modules called
Screen off animation and xui mod.
Halo I've never seen outside of PA.
But these mods used to be flash able as standalone without Xposed.
Personally I'd like to avoid Xposed as it breaks so much and I don't like it to be honest, although its a great bit of software.
Any ideas ?

You can use Screen Off and Lock ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock&hl=en ) to achieve your desired screen lock effect. I too LOVE the CRT T.V. off look that Moto put on their phones some time ago. I use this app all the time in conjunction with Nova Launcher's ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher&hl=en ) double tap action just to make everything super fluid. As for the list animations, I am not too sure what you mean but they may be found in Nova settings too. I know it has an option for something like that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ As far as the Halo type things you may want there is an app called Unique Controls and does not require root. Hope this helps!

This is one of my old HTC devices the list view animations can be seen here as can the screen off animation,. The CRT animation was changed from not existing to CRT to fade which it is now, the Nexus devices had it originally then vanilla type phones like Moto followed suit.
I've seen the application and it's not quite the same, although it wasn't last I tried it, I'll give it a whirl and see how it is.
Same with unique contrails, sorry I probably should have mentioned this too, they aren't quite the same as the originals.
Appreciate you taking the time to answer though, thanks.
From what i remember it was something to do with surface flinger but I remember that that has now changed although could be wrong (screen off animation that is)
Any other ideas?
Ok so that app has come a long way, by all accounts it doesn't allow for the actual power button to show the screen animation and fingerprint didn't work, probably a way to map a key to it.
Will check it out tomorrow
Cheers
Ok so tried a few of them apps and none of them allow you to use fingerprint thereafter

Yep there was, however back in the day it wasn't required.

Install activity launcher from playstore.
inside activity launcher search and launch:
cn.nubia.theme.local.ThemeActivity
this will show the preinstalled themes. choose "colorfull international" for round icons.
cn.nubia.gamecenter.settings.records.RecordSettingActivity
this will allow to switch the quality of the screenrecorder from sd to full hd.
com.qualcomm.qti.qcolor.QColorActivity
this will let you choose between all 8 color modes of the screen.
cn.nubia.factory.ChooseFpsActivity
here you can enable 120hz for the screen. It will apply once you leave the menu. standard settings and the refreshrate notification won't show the new value.
you can see that 120hz is working by dimming your screen and toggling between 144hz and 120hz and entering recents screen eachtime you changed the value. The brightness of the grey Background in the menu will be different.
To use the standard refreshrate settings again you must enable "default auto Fps" in the hidden menu.
cn.nubia.factory.FactoryTestQuickFan
here you can see the actual fan speed. Yes its + - 15k rpm.
You can create shortcuts to these menus by longpressing on the desired Activity.
Tested on global 4.05 rom.
there are allot more hidden features like battery percentage in status bar, fingerprint calibration settings and battery stats. But they don't seem to work properly.
Great!! thanks.

This right here makes such a huge difference for me, I normally don't like having icons on my home screen, I generally use Linux CLI Laucher and just quickly type in whatever app I want to open, but because you can't change the launcher on this phone, I'm stuck using the default one, so I only have some icons in the dock, and one of those icons is YouTube Studio, which uses a gear icon, and all the rest of the icons that were applied by default for the other dock apps I use are all square so I just had one random icon that didn't match, and this solved that.
This is a golden find right here, really good job on this.

Worth noting that you don't need to install activity launcher or anything, really, if you have adb (which my device came with by default(!) but you can get through developer options)
Just make sure to separate package name from activity name, e.g. :
am start-activity -n cn.nubia.theme.local/.ThemeActivity
am start-activity -n com.qualcomm.qti.qcolor/.QColorActivity
etc.
(also works as "adb shell am start-activity -n cn.nubia.theme.local/.ThemeActivity"), etc

I'm sure my guide is easier
and you would'nt be able to guess any of these things inside adb. so you need the app in first place to find these things anyways. i dont understand what you try to prove. It doesnt make sense to use adb for such easy things you can do inside an app. it's like you're saying "you dont have to go into settings to turn on wifi i can do it with adb" :silly:
you're just jelly i found this stuff with some guys on telegram and there is no credit for you. you would'nt find anything in your adb if i didnt post this. get your mind right before you say this is worthless. my phone didnt come with adb i don't know whats wrong with your device... don't even bother replying it makes no sense and i will not go further in detail with you.

Nobody's trying to steal anyone's credit. I'm just saying that some folks like myself who do not want to install anything (so as to keep the device pristine as possible) would maybe like to know of alternate ways to trigger activity. The am way works anywhere, not just on the Nubia activities.
Let go of the jealousy and the flames, man. Just trying to help people out. Take your credit, upvote yourself, be happy. The world has enough strife and complication already to get into pointless bickering.
