I'm looking for a program like onlock, devicelock, or slide2unlock... but instead of just having a procedure to unlock the phone, it prompts for a pin or password.
I'm aware that there is a built in locking thing in the phone, but whenever I use that, it takes 20-30 seconds to load the today screen after I unlock.
If I don't use the pin lock, the today screen loads with no wait.
I have been looking for something that does that also. I have a thread for the same request on other forums but I havn't had any luck yet. Has anyone else found anything? I will update the forum if I find anything.
you might want to look into OrganicLock - I personally recommend it

I found that the other day but I didn't really give a good look, I'm going to try it out today.
Slide to Unlock will prompt for a pin provided you use the Lock app to set one.
I believe it will still let you answer calls without typing in a pin though...
I would like to make calls while the device is locked so my personal information is still protected. Anything like that?

I gladly paid for mine.
Payment server
I was going to pay for it too. But I don't trust their payment server. I should be allowed to use Paypal and not need to enter my personal information again. So sorry Bud but I don't trust a method where I log into Paypal, and then get sent to a window where I need to enter my address, my phone number etc.. doesn't feel trustworthy. I have never had to enter my information after I used Paypal for something and I am not about to start.
I guess I'll go back to sensor lock and just have to fix the code to allow the phone to answer. I would have supported his effort but not if I need to re-enter my personal stuff that Paypal has confirmed. :
OH SNAP!! I just realized it removed my outlook email account on my device and keeps crashing SQB. I don't think anyone should install it. Seriously this program is malicious code somewhere

Well it is not our server, its from www.2CO.com (a CC procesing company). If you don't trust them, just contact them and ask but don't try to discredit us with that kind of comments.

Impossible.
Check out any other program you have installed.

...definitely no malicious code in PocketShield. This is one of the best locking apps available. Customer support is second-to-none. Updates come thick and fast with new options and settings. Superb software - just buy it!
I second that pocketshield is an excellent app and have experienced no malware-like effects
has anyone come across an issue with it not locking when waking up?
Mine stopped working and now doesn't lock unless I run the Lock app.
Make sure you have latest v2.1.1
If power off with AeButton or other way not the standard power off, it might not lock.
regards
mine locks very well, but i suggest asking for help @ pocketshield.net there u can speak directly with the developer ..
Pocketshield ROCKS! and the developer has been super-responsive to enhancement/bug reports.

Uninstalling pocketshield
I installed Pocketshield on my phone, then uninstalled it because it was making my phone crash and ending up with a blank screen that was impossible to take out, and now, the phone skin is changed to the theme that comes with Pocketshield. I removed the program, but I can't go back to the original phone skin that comes with the HTC Diamond. How can I go back to original settings without doing a hard reset?
HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\Enabled=1
Softreset
Where you using the official and latest version? Rare issue...

Tnx u are a lifesaver. I had the same problem, dld new version ystrday.
Tnx again
Have you gone through the settings?
I have an HD2 as well and no problems! and so my fellows who recommended it to me.
Pocket Shield
I have tried both Pocket Shield Protector and Pocket Shield Proximity used in conjunction with VolumeX.
I have tried nearly every possible combination of settings to achieve what I need and I always seem to hit one snag or another.
I originally purchased Pocket Shield Protector and VolumeX. When my blue tooth answer button stopped working I switched to Pocket Shield Proximity and Jim was nice enough to switch my registration from the more expensive Protector application to the less expensive Proximity application. I have since asked Jim to move my registration back to the Protector application but he hasn't as of yet.
In general this is a good application, however, it lacks polish on the basic functionality.
1.
I just activated the unlocking screen, which i really like.
But i have some questions you guys might know.
How many times can you do it wrong.
What happens when you do it wrong to many times.
And what can you do when that happens?
2.
also, i have downloaded a load of apps, and i also bought a bunch.
When the time comes i want to try a custom rom, or if i need to hard reset.
How will i find all my apps again.
Do i have to search for the again?
Do i have to buy them again?
Or is there a way to get the same back easily?
Thnx.
I don't know about the paid apps, but you can use astro file manager to back up apps onto your sd card. You would only have to redownload astro and then restore the rest of the apps from there. As for unlocking the device, I am also curious.
i use AppManager, it backs the applications to the SD card. It also allows you to install no market apps from the SD.

it's nothing more than an inconvenience.
if you get it wrong 5 times, you get told to wait for 30 seconds.
within that 30 seconds, you can still make emergency calls.
if you try again and fail, the screen gets locked out and there is a button you can press called "forgot pattern".
pressing that presents you with a login for your google account.
login and you can create a new unlock pattern.

Thank you for the clear explanation..
Sounds like a good security..
I have friends who like to mess with my phone, and i,m sure they will just love to mess with the lock
By the way,
i now got mybackup pro....
I made a backup of everything..
worked fast and easy,
just hoping the restore will work when i need it...
please tell me how i can unlock my HTC magic?
i need any instruction, please.
We are talking about a different unlock..
We are talking about password protection on the phone.
Not unlocking it from the provider..
(I know this is gonna sound stupid question )
I set up a lock pattern and wanted to see what happens after a few times of incorrect entering it. So, I entered the paterrn 5 times and it said to wait 30 sec. I noticed there is an option to click "Forgot password" and unlock by using the Google account.
Well, I am inserting my google account and password (The correct one ) but it DOES NOT unlock my phone!
Guys, I'm stuck without a mobile... any thing I can do?
Thanks,
David
OK. I succeeded to perform a "Hard reset".
Lost apps, contact and calendar occasions, but at least I can use my mobile.
Thanks any way.
LMAO! Just couldn't resist doing it ey? Doing something your not ment to always makes a person feel good, until you land yourself in crap. But i guess that's how we learn. At least you know what happens when putting in the wrong code 5 times, and now you know how to fix it when all else fails.
Straight from my GT540!

If we wouldn't get wrong we wou'd never learn.
But in fact my question is a little bit more than just "what happens if..." Because I did insert the correct details for my Google account, and it still wasn't unlocked. The question is: Why?
So I want to use the pattern lock on my Atrix but I hate that I have to slide to unlock, then pattern lock. It should only be one, not both! I've searched but can't find anything. Even tried to use tasker, but couldn't get it to work.
I don't see why you really NEED to bypass the "slide to unlock" thing. I mean it takes an additional what.... half a second? If you want to bypass stuff... why not just use the fingerprint? works even quicker because there's absolutely no wasted sliding required.
I know it only takes an extra half a second. But I look at my phone often and would prefer it not to be that way. I used the fingerprint scanner when I first got it but it wasn't smooth.
So yes I am aware of arguments against, but this is MY PREFERENCE, so if you can help id like to hear.
agree, if you have password, this should be the only unlock

Are you using a home screen replacement like DxTop? If so they often have their own custom lockscreens - check the preferences in your homescreen replacement and the stock android lockscreens - they often don't play nicely together (they do what you're describing, multiple lockscreens)
install nolock. but that will also disable every type of security. since it allows to turn on display with volume buttons, i don't care
you should find it in the settings of the app you're using for the lockscreen
No im not using anything special besides ADW which doesnt have a lockscreen. It just makes me slide to unlock to the pattern lock which I think is stupid.

Have you tried since. 57 ? I turned it off but the update fixed the smoothness. Now the only time it doesn't work for me are if my hands are really dirty from work and I shouldn't be touching my phone anyway

No I didn't update through the SBF, I just tried to check updates on the phone itself and it says I need social networking to update... cuz you know that makes sense.
No, I'm not talking about Smart Lock, that doesn't have the option to stay unlocked while connected to a home WiFi that you know is secure. There's a location based one but apparently it isn't always working for me as sometimes I still need to use irises or PIN to unlock my phone at home. Very annoying.
Is there a good Galaxy S8 + compatible app for keeping my phone unlocked when connected to my home WiFi? Thanks!

Tasker.
Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I'm using an app called delayed lock, and it works great
Tasker just seems complicated. But I know how specific it can get in its functions so I'll take a look into it.
I'll also take a look into delayed lock as well, thanks!
Any other suggestions?
Thx dude
Delayed Lock is not compatible with my AT&T Samsung galaxy s8+
Anyone else have any suggestions?
Bump
Try
App-Lock Fingerprint
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sp.protector.free
Once installed a d setup look at Settings -> Lock Convience
Hey thanks for the reply, do I have to have the whole phone locked by App-lock so that it'll automatically unlock? I currently use my irises to unlock my phone.
Smart lock seems to work perfectly with a Bluetooth device. My Gear 2 watch is on me all the time, so I never see my lock screen unless I reboot the phone.
Use the integrated Smart Lock from google, you will find it under settings, lock screen and security.

Tasker does have a learning curve, however there are plenty of scripts & profiles online to paste in and/or modify. Once it's set up, you can forget about it. I use one to match a google calendar and mute according to a class schedule.

You obviously didn't read my post but thanks anyway. If you look, it only has a location feature, it doesn't specifically have a feature to keep unlocked while connected to a trusted WiFi connection. I'm looking for that feature because the location one doesn't always work. Location is on, settings for it on high, and I'm still having to put in my passcode/use the iris scanner. Not sure why it's not working as intended. I'll post screenshots if I have to though.

I'll probably have to try it out, not sure if I want to shell out the 2.99 for it. Maybe I'll wait till my Google Opinion Rewards gets it for me
I used Hi Locker on my LG G4 for this. I havent tried it yet on the S8, give it a try.
