I have a friend who just visited his parents in Taiwan and while he was there he bought HTC Touch Dual and now he is back in Aussie land.
He asked me is I knew of a way to change the OS language to English?
Is it dependent on the ROM? Please advice and let me know if more information is required.
yup. OS language is determined by the ROM. to switch to English OS now, seems no choice but flashing a cooked rom

Hi,
I'm new to this site, only found it cause I was searching for help.
I also bought an HTC Touch Dual from Taiwan, in Chinese.
I can't read a single word. I live in Shanghai and I've been unable to find any places that can help me "flash" the rom into English.
I've noticed there are quite a few different ROMS created by senior members of this site, but which one to use?
Also, I've been told that the Taiwan version with 16 keys on keypad is unable to flash into English properly.
Please...if anyone can help, it is much appreciated!

I had bought o2's Mini XDA S recently in Germany. Due to the German OS, I am facing problem in using it properly and to understand.
Request, if any one can guide me how to convert this to English language and the consequences of changing it from the Products warranty point of view.

By the description i could understand it is some program which unlocks the sim..
I wanted to know, unlocking the sim would help in choosing language options from the currently loaded os?
or do I have to load English version of OS on top of this?
Sorry. I am not at all aware of these buzz words like "ROM" etc. and am completely new to this terminology..
Would request you to please explain in detail..

i asked my friend working in o2 and he said that the phone is lock free..
and now i had downloaded the software from the link you had forwarded..
but i am un aware of the procedure to install it over the exisitng one..
could you pls suggest me how to do this..

And what would be the best and Latest Flash to install? Only had it a day am at present printing the Manual 204 Pages
Only thing i have noticed briefly is that keys on keyboard do not correspond?

Try the registry language tweak in one of the posts (might just apply to HTC Sense). If that fails then I'm afraid you'll have to wait to HardSPL is released.

Hi all I recently returned from Taiwan with my p5500 and for the life of me cannot get it onto South African networks I have followed all the info in the threads and still cannot get it to work I keep getting errors

i have htc t8282 phone it's in french i want to change it into english i've been reading how to flash a new rom on the website i think i can do it but i have couple of questions
1= how do know the exact rom for htc 8282 phone?
2= my phone is currently locked do i need to unlock the phone first before flashing or cooking the new rom?

T8282 is an HD/Blackstone, it does not need to be unlocked but check this guide to make sure you don't brick your device. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377
