Confusion while upgrading my ROM

Hi all. I appologize for starting a new thread, but I wasn't sure which topic to post under as this problem seems to span a few. In short, here's my problem: I'm trying to upgrade my Tmobile UK MDA Vario to 2.26.10.2 from 1.6.2.4 WWE. I'm using the stock Tmobile USA ROM updater available from the tmobileapps site.
When I run the upgrade file I get a failure with an Error 294 - Invalid Vender ID. While I don't understand why UK and USA would have different locks, I figured fine, I'll use lokiwiz to unlock my phone.
I've tried lokiwiz 0.2b to unlock the CID, but I get the itsutils.dll error (that it can't update the file).
So now I'm stuck. I can't upgrade the ROM using the US ROM, and I can't seem to CID unlock the phone to allow me to use another ROM. The official UK ROM is sitting a few versions back, and I don't want to have to upgrade twice, so that's out (unless someone can point me to a site where I can get the newer UK ROM).
Anyone know what I should try? I'm kinda stumped. The only think I can think of is that I'm only activesynced to this computer as a Guest, not as a real activesync pairing. Could that effect either the ROM upgrade or the unlocker?
For reference, here's more info about my phone:
IPL 1.06
SPL 1.01
GSM 1.12.10
OS 1.6.2.4

Did u install the EnableRAPI CAB in your phone before starting lokiwiz?
Also, i remember that i had to run lokiwiz 0.2b twice to unlock my phone and my friend's one.
So try this: soft reset the phone, install enableRapi.cab, run lokiwiz and then run it again.

Yup, that was it. I thought I only needed the EnableRAPI CAB if I was SIM unlocking. Silly me.

HELP - Connection broken during a firmware update (Cingular 8525)

Hi everybody! I´m new here and I really need your help! I have a Cingular 8525 mobile and I was updating its firmware to the new WM6 when the power supply of all my city was broken suddenly (the update was in 18%). Firstly the only screen that I could see was the tri-color screen (bootloader screen)... then I followed the procedures that I´ve found here (using the mtty), and now I also can turn on the mobile, then the initial screen appears (written At&t) as before, however after it I get a black screen.
I already tried to flash the ROM with the lastest version and the version that I was using before, but when it is in 1% my mobile reset automatically and on my PC the error message "Invalid Vender ID error" appears, I also download the oldest ROM version I´ve found here and the RUU even doesnt recognize my device... I tried the steps described at http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_UpgradeProblems to solve the Invalid Vender Id Error but it didnt work, I tried to flash my mobile from the SD card and it didnt work as well (i got the error message "dont allow" on my device). What new WM6?
You need to do a little more research and provide more information on what you were flashing. You're extremely lucky you've not totally screwed it by trying to flash earlier ROMs that don't match your device. With this answer, you will get your device working and learn a lot more about it - follow it carefully.

Start here - Read up on CID in answers 17, 19, 2 and 20 that will explain your first error and prepare you for unbricking your device. It's also why I don't think the "latest" WM6 you're trying was either not for your device or your device had been tinkered with before. Certainly doesn't sound like HardSPL either.
Then you have 3 choices :
1) If it was genuinely your network providers own update, supplied by them and you are not confident AND unprepared to read the wiki then - call your network for support - it broke using their update.
2) If it was not a genuine update and something from here, elsewhere, cooked etc and you are unprepared to research in the wiki and forums about upgrades before attempting one ignoring the posted warnings then your carrier will be able to arrange a fix under warranty. Tell them it "just died".
3) If you are prepared to learn a bit first -
* DO NOT attempt to flash any more ROMs until you know where you went wrong or you will totally brick your phone.
* Understand what you've done wrong
* Find out your SPL & IPL from the bootloader screen
* have a look here then have a look here before doing anything else.
* If your SPL is 1.06, 1.09, 1.11 or 2.02 then flash any shipped ROM matching your CID, if such rom is not available wait until your carrier releases it or send it to repair or warranty..
* If your SPL is 1.04 then flash any shipped ROM with bootloader 1.04 on it twice.
* If you plan to tinker again in the future, read about HardSPL.
* Have a search in the forums for similar questions which have full posted answers (millions of them)
* When you have an idea of whats happened or more information and have done some reading - if you can't fix it by then and need help then post again.
People will help if you are not confident but you need to supply as much info as possible and do the above first!

P4350 problem flashing stock SPL after Hard SPL

Hi guys,
at first i want to thank you for any solution or info you provide in this forum, it helped me in a lot of cases.
I'm looking for a solution for a problem i'm facing, I have two P4350 which the second is from a friend of mine.
This P4350(HERA100 IPL/SPL 4.x the second device) was bought through ebay and had the german windows mobile 6.0 on it. I couldnt flash the WWE edition of windows mobile 6 because of an error saying "Invalid Vendor ID" so i assume it was a CID Locked.
So I did the first thing i found on this forum and after a lot of reading on how to do it, i installed the Hard SPL from Aserg. The problem is when I try to install the extended rom which comes from the distributor here in Greece of HTC Phones.
Apparently they have done something and somehow it recognizes that i have installed wrong SPL and always reboots(it displays an error msg inside the OS enviroment and after 5 sec it reboots) when the WWE OS start after the installation of the programs inside off Extended ROM.
So after some more reading i found that i could have used the USPL method for bypassing the CID Lock. Correct?
Now my problem is that I want to remove the Hard SPL to install the officially shipped edition of SPL + WWE ROM using USPL.
Whichever solution I use to remove the Hard SPL it just wont go away!
I even installed the German edition again with the hope that it will install the stock SPL again. It says that is being flashed but the SPL doesnt even change! While the ROM is being flashed correctly and windows boot without any problem
I have tried Flash Center, Stock Rom(German & WWE) and lots of different removals for Hard SPL but nothing worked!
Is there any workaround/solution for this problem? I have no problem to use any tools or console based ones but I need some information or a tutorial so as to not brick the device.
Thanx in regard for any help and sorry for the long post but I wanted to describe all the steps that I followed to get here.

HELP NEEDED Please - 8525 brick!

hello, i have read and read all the wiki's, but ive not been able to fix my phone.
i use a cingular 8525 (herm100) phone, and cannot install any rom on the phone. I have two versions of the At&t ROM with radio's and tried them both, but they all stop at 11-12 %.
i have tried usind the sd-card method, and it does not pass the "GSM - " portion.
i guess the radio is not working or is corrupt or something..
my phone is now in bootloader and just says
HERM100
IPL-1.04
HERM100
SPL-2.03
please any help will be appreciated. thank you!!!!

I would update your copy of Windows Mobile Device Center first (especially if you're using Vista). Flash SPL and the radio, then flash any rom to see what happens. I mean really at this point, it's already a brick... try some crazy stuff, you can't hurt it anymore than it already is. I did the same thing to mine a couple of months ago, and after trying these things, I got it working again without a problem.

update to hard spl ver.7.
try to flash
a). stock rom (sometimes this works)
b). radio only rom.

Just to make sure I understand, the unlocker you linked is to SIM and CID unlock, correct ?? And then on top of that - you should update to HardSpl also ??
I have an 8525 on its way that I will be looking to upgrade - just want to make sure I am understanding correctly.

sorry for the late reply
i have been dealing with this for 3 days and finally managed to run official AT&T rom for 4 days wout hard reset.
there is a method dumping an official himalaya rom to hermes. az pof explained in one of his posts all commands except radio commands are different in himalaya so it is safe to use dumping method.
it basically deletes everything in radio rom so you can install official rom.
PS: at first install official rom stucked %12 i said damn but in second try %15 third try success
i am at work now i dont have the link of method but try googling or searching my posts (not too much )

thanks guys, i've tried some things
i have tried using Hard SPL v.7 it does not work.
i have tried using official cingular roms too. stops at 11% no success.
i have tried upgraing radio only, stops a 0% and restarts the device.
i have also used mtty, with some text inputs, no success
i have even tried selling the brick on e-bay .... as you can guess no success.!

bill_in_mtl, sorry bout lateness of my reply ( net problems), yes you do unlock sim and cid. Sim unlock means you can use ANY simcard from any carrier and Cid unlock means you can flash ANY hermes rom (both official or cooked). It needs to be unlocked first as the spl is downgraded to 1.40 (I think) and you should REALLY be running with 2.10 olipro (hard SPL ver 7). I wouldnt bother upgrading to Hard SPL ver 9 a this is essentially only ver 7 with some neat features for developers but it does throw up an error message when you finish flashing a rom(no problems t just feels like it).
Hard SPL WON'T stop you from bricking your phone BUT it will make it easier to recover.
roomtek*8525, sorry to hear that but have you tried flashing with a cooked rom? This unfortunately wont fix the phone part but you will have a working PDA...If you've tried MTTY with info 8 and task 2a commands then thats the best to hope for, Sorry bout that..

Help Stuck in Bootloader

Can anyone help?
I'm stuck in Bootloader SPL 1.1.
I've tried hard and soft reset but it just comes back to Bootloader (Red, Green, Blue and white screen).
Can re flash as it's not being recognised and just timesout.
On the screen it say's
ATHE100
IPL-v2.02
ATHE100
SPL-v1.10. RP00
Would trying to flash from SD card help, don't have a miniSD card so not tried.
Not sure how it got to this state as I purchased it from eBay as is.

But get error Invalid Vendor ID
All other ROM's and upgrades that I've tried just timeout.

If your casing is black you may need to use these original roms
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Athena/Shipped_Complete_Updates
once you have loaded a rom ,you have to unlock to accept non native roms.
Please read the wiki and how to guides in the athena wm6 forum

The box says it should be WM 6.
What original ROM should I try.

i think the reply to task32 means it is not unlocked and i believe you should be able to flash a TMUK rom based on your description of the case.
Go basic and make sure you removed the sim and sd card
Use an XP machine and try a different cable.
You could try to find a TMUK wm5 rom
Flashing from sd card also removes some potential problems.
If all else fails you could try messaging cmonex who is a whiz in these situations

Thanks for the help.
I've tried 2 PC's both XP and different cables still same issue.
Any idea where I could get TMUK WM5 tried looking but can't find, it's probably the only ROM I've not tried.
I've sent a message to cmonex so hopefully he will be able to help.
I've tried the TMUK WM6 and it at least starts to flash 1% then gets Invalid Vendor ID. All other ROM's just fail to communicate.

Model ID
I believe I have a corrupt or Invalid Model ID which is preventing and ROM from being flashed.
Does anybody know the mtty commands or can help me.

I saw your multiple posts.
please don't ask the same question in 5 different threads.
The first thing to be clear about is what hardware do you have
x7500/x7501 is different to X7510
Which one do you have?
To apply any of the special ROMs you need to be unlocked and when you entered bootloader you should have seen either
athe100
IPL-v1.00
athe100
SPL-v1.20 Olipro
0r
Athe
IPL-v1.00
Athe
SPL-v3.50 Olipro
if you have an x7510 the numbers would have been different with Athe400(designating a different hardware)
If the SPL was 1.0x then you weren't unlocked and I don't think anyone knows how to fix your phone from here.
If you know what your original software is you could try flashing from bootloader.
if you don't understand the terms I have used, I suggest you read up the stickys and wiki before asking anything else as any solution will be quite complex.
Have a think and a read before doing anything else
