So I don't know what I installed or if installing apps has anything to do with it but the hardware phone button stopped working on the today screen. If I'm in another app like the calculator or calendar & press the button, it goes to the dial pad. But if I'm on the today screen, it only lights up the screen & the buttons. It doesn't take me to the dial pad.
My question is... has this happened to anyone else & is there anything in the registry I can change to fix this?
I'm on a tmobile wing with the stock rom
Anyone? Anything? Its not a big deal I would just like to know if there is a way to fix this if I ever decide to sell my wing
I had the same problem with my Wing, then I stumbled here and found out nobody had an answer. I tried messing with the registry with total commander but to no avail. I just decided to restored my phone and the key works again.
Yea nobody answered so I just hard reset my phone & its all good now but I would still like to know if there is a way to fix it. That was the second time it happened to me. Like I said, its not a big deal, I found easy ways around it but it would be nice to know I can fix it without resetting

Hi i cant seem to enable the vireless netowrk on my i-mate jasjar. It worked in the beginning but now it just blinks realy fast when i press the button to enable it.
The only thing i can think of is that i installed the extended rom thing from buzz...it was that cab file i found in the comments on his site.
pls can anybody help me with this?

I had my wifi stop working at one point for unknown reasons. Soft resetting didn't fix the problem. It did start working again after a hard reset. It was not doing any fast blink like you describe, so it may be that whatever your problem is has no relation to whatever my problem was. I don't know if you have tried hard reset, but in any event I'm hoping one of the wizards here will have better advice for you.
Hehe by fast blinking i mean when i press the "wifi" button in the wireless manager. It just blinks breafly to indicate that i pressed it..but it does not turn blue like its suposed to and it does not turn wifi on like its suposed to.
Had hoped i wouldnt have to do a hard reset as i have my device set up just perfectly now
So if anybody has some tips here ill try anything.
btw what is sddeamon? i had sevreral of thouse in the notification que and i remoced all but one. could this be the problem?
OK, now I know what you mean, and unfortunately my problem was different. It would presumably turn on (button would change color) but not connect with anything, including access point that was no problem before. And sorry again since I don't know what that sddaemon thing is for sure. It might be related to the voice dial function, but I'm really not sure. Hard reset is definitely a pain. I've made a little cheat sheet for myself with all my tweaks to get things set up again. But it's a pain anyway. Part of the cost of being on the bleeding edge with these wonderful little machines.

Well only way to fighure it out is to do a hard reset!. Is there any way to back up WM5 like there was in 2003?
well i have now preformed a hard reset and that did not work. I also installed the imate rom twice (installed arabic first LOL) and that did not good eather.
So i guess there is a hardware issue with the phone itself...
Any thoughts?

This problem that you are experiencing with PhonePad is the same one we were experiencing with the Magician. The problem is that the SIP and the Today plugins share the some same resources. With a lot of Today Plugins (or an insulting one), you will not be able to change your SIP other than to Keyboard.
You can try disabling the Today Plugins one by one, trying to load the Phone Pad in between. That way you can find which is the insulting plug-in. Mine is the Resco Explorer plug-in. You can re-enable the insulting plugin once you load PhonePad and they will then work.#
Sometimes a soft reset and changing the SIP immediately after also solves the problem.
Dont know what the problem was but, its sorted.
without changing anything I just opened programs and tried to run the pad in there now it works well.
now just to try tomtom5 so far no one reported any problems a good thing!

the pad is the like phone pad which comes up so you can enter text.
I have just reset the phone to factory standards and the pad works unit it starts to install stuff then it just stops.
I have removed all the stuff it will let me and still it wont work. I have to get this working...

OK this is odd I have removed all programs on the PPC and started nothing and it doesn't work, removed the sim and it does! OH! I need the sim.
oh and the JAMin runs much faster without the sim?? OK so as I do this I am performing a hard reset without the sim, the phone is clever its telling me there is no sim! "I know this!"
I am sure it is something to with a CAB file that installs when you first boot or after a hard reset. or it may be my sim? after all its working without my sim.
Ok hard reset done, without the sim it is working fine now time to put the sim in.............................................
OK its either the sim or the stupid text that tells me what area I am in. how do i turn the area notification off?
ok a way around it should you ever have this problem.
put the phone into flight mode and soft restart, with it still in flight mode load you sms or what ever and open the key pad, then turn off flight mode and you will see your key pad.
PS it will screw up after a soft reset so you will need to do the above again but a solution for the short term.
Must be your sim card...

Just traded Dopod 700 (Blue Angel) for the sleek and tiny Dopod 818 Pro. Keep hearing about this phonepad SIP, but don't seem to have one on my phone. I have the Traditional Chinese ROM, which is ok, but would love a phonepad... Any ideas what's up with it not being on the device?

under "DefaulfIM"
Change this value to "{51A2CB38-154E-4C92-A625-A83871C99EC2}"
Thereafter everytime you soft reset, phonepad will load up automatically and it will function every time you need it to... hope this helps

It started when i heard someone called me. I looked at the screen and it was totally white. Pressing buttons didn't do anything. I tried soft + hard reset but the fone was still like that.

i haven't had the problem but it would be helpful if we knew what kind of a phone and rom you have
my fone is cingular 8525, and I have no idea what kinda rom I have. I only unlocked it with the software available here, and still haven't had time to play with other stuff yet.
oh, and i don't think the front buttons work, btw, so when i said i hard reseted it, i was wrong.

All of a sudden my screen has stopped working in terms of being able to use the touch screen, the buttons do work though.
Also I noticed the clock has reset it's self so something has happened in the night.. hmmm.
So, I have removed the battery for a while which didnt help.
I am wondering what to try next, for some reason finding out how to do a hard reset is not easy - could somebody let me know how to do this please?

Since a few days ago I can not move the slide, i I have to turn off the phone (to remove battery), I worked reset, modified wallpeper and screen saver but nothing. Now I hold on my calculator, or some other program and it is only solution that I can to use my phone. Otherwise, touch screen works normally on all parts of dislpay. Does anyone know a solution to this problem?

Are you sure your touchscreen works normally on all its surface and only unlock slide is a problem?
It seems very odd, never heard something similar...
Yes,it's wierd.. Maybe you could describe the problem better when it doesn't work etc. it could be some touch drivers problem

Last night I looked different solutions, similar problems on many forums but without success. I found and installed little program 'xda shutdown' and it is work.....with that program I turn phone to sleep.....when I need to use phone again I push button 'home' on the phone, and slide works normally (no button shutdown, because in that case I cann't to move slide left or right). I forgot to mention, I have Windows 6,5, rom 3.14.479.2 (04666)WWE (I think that is last officially rom), radio 2.15..50.14. I hope that I now gave you more informations. Thanks in advance.
sounds like a common hardware problem of the HD2. the power/end call button is one of the most used buttons and has been known to cause pressure on the touch screen+connectors underneath, which can eventually damage the touchscreen.
you are now using a way to turn off the screen that doesn't involve the power/end call button. also, you are now using a way to wake the device using a button other than the power/end call button. funny thing is, this is exactly what is suggested (as a workaround or troubleshooting step) in almost all of the many many threads that talk about the problem mentioned in the first paragraph!
search some more and most common permanent solution suggested is to have it repaired!
