Hi Chris,
Check the Skype page beginning of October.
Cheers,
StonyA
I installed Skype on my TyTn last night, and used it over wifi to call my Dad (just because I was bored and wanted to try it), I made no tweaks or changes and it works fine. I just chose Other Pocket PC and did an OTA install with the CAB file. Works great.
which skype brand - model for hermes
I took a guess and chose Dopod 700 version.
So far seems to work fine.
voice over EDGE sucks, but we knew that.

The HTC TyTN with SJphone or other.
i know certain htc phones have had issued with bluetooth, and was wondering if the titan is/was effected by this.
i have an htc p4000(telus) and when i try sending pics and such via bluetooth it says sending, then even if the person agrees to receive, mine says failed.. and they stop getting the file, tried this with 3 different phones, same thing everytime.
im using nueROM v2 build 5022. wm 6.1
a simple yes or no would be nice..

do u know where to find the fix then?
http://www.htcwiki.com/thread/1052622/P4000+Bluetooth+issues%3B+Mogul+got+their+fix...what+about+Telus%3F?t=anon
hmmmm...
so i guess there is no fix right now?
or is there?
anyone?
Yeah a fix would be very important for me as I have the Jabra BT620S's and they sound great on other devices. However, the main device I use it for is for my phone. I actually had another phone that is for sale, and it worked perfectly on it, but this phone sucks with it. It skips every couple of seconds.
well, i was able to beam a couple pics today, but its seems like 3/5 or higher just drops the file and says failed.
ive heard that for the headsets you can get working by making your phone detect as a smartphone instead of a pda.
Using no2chem's nueROM build 5042 (as of last night). I have my Jabra JX-10 bluetooth headset working so far...I'll test the send file thing later with my other PDA's when I get home later.
<EDIT> Incidentally...did you manage to do a OTA PRL update on your p4000? (i.e. *22803, PRL update) I wasn't actually able to do that until I manually loaded another PRL... </EDIT>
verkion
yes, I was able to do the *22803 then press #1.
Oh by the way I'm using the custom Telus rom by a1jatt at the moment with the latest radio. 3.27.00 etc.
prl?
w/e it is im guessing i havnt done it
im using the newest build of nuerom now (5042) so im not sure if the bluetooth issue is fixed yet, im ordering a bluetooth adapter and well see if it works :S
hi all,
i've been trying to use Skype 2.2 for Windows Mobile Professional (Pocket PC) on my at&t 8525 windows mobile 6.
everything installs fine and i can connect to calls but the sound keeps on breaking in to pieces. plus the other person can't hear me.
i thought it was my slow 3g connection but it wasn't because i tethered the phone to the comp and used skype. that worked fine.
so i think it's a software issue? or the version that i'm using is wrong?
does anyone else have this problem? know how to fix? or which version of skype are you guys using with windows mobile 6?
oh i just found the solution, for those that have the same issue. you need to get an earlier version of skype: Pocket Skype 2.2.0.18 Beta!
get it here: http://smarthacks.com/2007/06/26/wo...-trinity-p3600/
I have the same problem on my Dopod 838 pro. Can't find a good solution because I'm using Windows Mobile 6.1. Forced to use the newest version with crippled sound engine. Anyway, the link appears to be erroneous to me. Error 404 in that blog.
Same problem here. Sound breaks up. Using Schap's 4.31.
Re The above broken link:
The older version of Skype is hopefully still on this link:

Just wanted to say in advance, Thanks Mike.
Just checked my Skype account, so I can talk to an old friend in Poland, and hoping this will ease this...
Do you know if it'll work through the WIFI on the phone? (Hermes). Or do i have to preconnect it to something first?
mobile skype the same as desktop skype is a bloated, useless piece of sh..software.
The reason the sound is breaking is probably because skype takes up all the available processor's resources and it's not enough for it.
I use fring, the sound quality is not as good, but at least it's bearable.

Yes it works through wifi. It's a while since I set it up, but simply put, if you are connected to your PC by wifi and the connection connects to the internet then Skype will too.
Mike
Hi,
I haven't seen this posted here and though some of you use it.
Skype just released a new version with 480x800 resolution support and new voice engine.

Thanks for the info.

Didn't work on my HD. Two seconds after calling the Echo-Server the program crashed.
- Dromaius
Works well on my HD.
@madraven - Thanks for the tip!
the new skype does not work on my HD too
can you please post your rom version
Also did not work for me on ROM 1.14.405.3 - it got stuck on the logon screen and I gave up waiting. Worked fine on the PC so not a problem with the account.
Works Fine ..... :::After Restart Device::: .....
Works here too, I noticed some lag but nothing more than I would have on my Desktop PC.
Very handy to be walking around with my correspondend instead of being tied up behind the PC. ...Happy...
I'm still only getting sound through the external speaker and not the phone earpiece/bluetooth headset. Anyone else still having this happen?
Works fine on my HD, though you still have to use a headset if you don't want it on speaker.
Does not work on mine
The program does not start on my phone. I get the following error
"Couldn't find all the necessary resource files to start Skype. Please try to install Skype Again.
Skype will now quit"
I tried to resintall it, but it did not help.
I installed it on the internal memory..
Anyone else with the same problem?
Doesn't work on my HD either.
As soon as I call someone and the connection is established, Skype crashes.
It doesn't matter if I'm connected via WLAN, 3G or ActiveSync.
One thing I noticed though, when I'm connected via WLAN, Skype disconnects the network as soon as it crashes.
Soft resets and multiple reinstallations have not solved the problem.
Any ideas? (And no, I do not want to hard-reset my device.)
EDIT: Skype 2.2.0.38 works fine
works fine on mine but i was hopping Skype to start data connection by himself when i want to start Skype or when i select in Contact options "call with Skype" ...i always have to start data connection before starting Skype ...bouuhhh

Yes, it would be very nice if you could tell Skype to automatically connect to your WLAN or 3G when you make a call.
I have a fliptout and use Skype and Viber. Everything works great, except for calls. I can hear the other person, but the other part can't hear me. Could anyone help me?

Hi,
This is a member of Viber's Development Team.
We haven't yet tested Viber on this device. We are working hard on testing Viber on different devices. Please check out our list of officially supported devices at: http://helpme.viber.com/index.php?/...oid-compatible-with-viber-system-requirements which we keep updating.
We would be happy to receive your feedback as a tester of Viber on this device via our support team at: http://helpme.viber.com/
Thanks!

yes,Motorola Flipout with Android Eclair 2.1 when make a call the microphone don't work and it seems like its mute.
please do something Viber member
thank you very much
We will certainly look into it, but please understand that Flipout is quite a rare device, that's still running officially on Android 2.1
VoIP support in Flipout is not so stable, and this is probably the source of the problem. As I explained, we will try to find a solution, but we can't guarantee it will happen soon unfortunately

Thanks for looking into it.
FYI, I have found that the other party can hear me for a few seconds when I mute/unmute repeatedly. It is very random, I will mute/unmute a few times and it works or sometimes it won't. Very weird.
The only thing I can suggest to you is to gather many friends and together open tickets to our support team (at http://support.viber.com). Since FlipOut is quite a rare device, a change will happen sooner only if many people show their demand for Viber.
I'm afraid that there is not much more I can do to help
Viber mute on Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000
Hi Viber team
I have also some problems with Viber app on my phone (Galaxy S) i am still using 2.1-update1 firmware version... as many people said everything is working good except the free calls where the "other" side cant hear me...
Once i/he call me i can hear everything but they can't hear me, in the screen i can't use the "mute" option because it's disabled.
Any suggestions?

Please make sure neither you nor the other side are connected to networks that might be blocking Viber (for example - a router running a firewall).
1. First, please try uninstalling and reinstalling Viber when connected to different WiFi networks. Does it work now?
2. Also, please make sure the following ports are enabled on your routers or firewalls:
TCP: 5242 + 4244
UDP: 5243 + 9785
(if you are not sure how to enable ports, contact your router manufacturer)
Alternately, the reason for this problem could be the fact that you're using quite an old version of Android (2.1). Have you considered upgrading?
