The Battery
Buy a new battery.... l ion battery's lifespan is actually limited .... its internal resistance changes that can create some erratic battery behavior even though the battery can sustain the main unit.... try to change the battery, bec if you dont it also poses a threat to your unit...

fone is i-mate pocket pc 2003
is it the backup battery? do you ever plug the device into power?
backup battery is 100%
its the normal battery... i charge the device always
when i look at the power i cee both... the top one is 0% (which is not true)
and the bottom one is 100% (backup batter)
Your battery has a reserve in it to retain the data after the device cuts out.
The device has it's own battery built in to keep the data whilst you change the battery.
Do you every charge your battery whilst it is in the device?
sorry i dont understand.. but yes i charge my fone on the cradle from time to time
my phone is never out of its caddy unless i am away from home, it could be that you are totaly discharging your batteries. its never wise to do that, and i have noticed that the spare bettery , if you use a cradle and the slot charging point never seams to charge up correctly.
Hello!
i have universal the orignal battery dies very quickly shows wrong information !
i bough a new one i didnt use it for few months the battery was dead!
now when i charge it its keeps blinking quickly the red light !
dosent charge :S
any reason
Thx
I've got exactly the same problem, even when I plug it into the AC adapter. When I plug it in the AC it starts-up, but gives me the information that there's unkown battery left? How could this happen, I've used the thing with a new battery for about 4 days and then I let it rest for about 4 weeks but now it's dead!
i bought it from hours , and i forgot to charge the battery and make it full
got some errors while flashing and hacking it after that i tried to restart by
removing the batt and put it again but Unfortunately it never opened again it's
dead now even with charger or the usb cable ...
any help please?
Sorry bit if your battery died while you were flashing, it is very possible that you hard bricked your device. Please post back with what percent it was on when it died. Maybe XDA Senior Member Samsamuel can give you a better clue if you post this info.
Anyway if it is hard bricked you will have to have it JTAGed or ha e the main board replaced.
i think it was 40% i guess .. i don't care much about the battery , I WANNA USE THE PHONE
Flashing usually only uses 2-3%, I've flashed with less than 10% charge loads of times.
More importantly would be what rom did you flash?
Tmous or regular hd2?
Have you checked the battery pins very carefully?
no it's regular HD2 , i was partitioning CLK ..
if it's not that important , what else could cause this problem ?
about the pins no i didn't
Please any help ?

Buy an external battery charger, the ones you charge off mains. Charge your battery off that and then see if the device turns on?
... or, if you have a spare USB lead, any type, cut end off, bare red and black, hold red to + and black to - on battery, plug into wall charger and hold onto the terminals for about a mninute which should give it enough power to turn on, and if it does turn on get the real cable plugged in quick.
Hi!... As the topic says: my phone recognizes the charger, also the pc recognizes the phone, but it doesn't charge the battery, I've checkes on android 4.1 and 2.3.5 and stil the same thing, changed the battery for a new one and nothing, also new charger and nothing...
the last thing I did was change Radio 2.12 for 2.08 but still nothing, I don't know what to do....
please help!
Thanks!

Long shot but verfiy that your battery pins are sitting correctly ie. that they are parallel with the back of the phone, they can get pushed outwards and cause issues such as yours.
Otherwise your usb port looks like it may be damaged!
Edit: get a wall charger and a few spare batteries on eBay for $10 , ...

That happens to me alot when i am in a rom flashing MOOD......
thanks for the comments guys, I've checked the pins, they're ok, but the usb conector not yet... the thing is this: I've got a battery charger and a new batterys so I can turn on the phone (until now is the only way) and then when the system is fully loaded the battery % shows 93 at max (24 hours chargin) yesterday, I noticed that it was discharging a little too fast... 4 hours aprox from 93 to 11 % ... so I restarted the phone, and magically it showed 53% of battery... so I think the problem might be software/firmware, that's the reason I mentioned the change of radio version

well i try to charge my phone with small solar panel , the phone appear like charging (light on) , but it was`t , and the reason was that the small solar panel produce 4 volt and very low mile ampere (mA) , so maybe the problem with the charger (try to change it or charge through usb cable to laptop )
