Working Wired headset list - P3600 General

Lets get a list going of working wired headsets ( mic & headset) for the Trinity.
The OEM headset that came with it won't even fit in my ears. For me to wear them is like putting my ears through some sort of perverse torture. I don't want bluetooth. I have the 3in1 adapter but who wants to carry that around with them. Has anyone found a solution? .........
*Wired headset and mic suggestions only please.
-Thanks in advance from my freakin swollen ear canals.

Replacement for Mini Headset

I'm looking for replacement for Magician's (wired) headset coz I think the one that comes with it sucks (low audio quality).
Anyone can suggest good alternatives with good MP3 quality (enough bass,...) and also as the phone's handsfree.
Thanks a lot.
If you are handy with a soldering iron, cut off that stupid pair of earbuds and solder on your favorite headset (that's what I did) or you can buy 3rd party adapters. If you solder on new headphones, don't forget to get some of that really cool heat shrink stuff to put over the wires, it turns out very professional looking and very strong.
Hmm...nice idea.
Unfortunately i'm not good at soldering.
So it seems i'm stuck with alternative to find a good earphone+hansfree combo....
SOny Ericsson p900 headset
5x times sound quality, + only one with a microphone that fits the 2.5mm plug. I searched long and hard to get this answer as i cannot solder too
this headset is not a stereo one, rigth ?
There are some adapters that have a built in mic and you plug the 3.5 headhones of your choice into it. There is also a small adapter that is just for audio 2.5-3.5. It is true that the Sony P800-900 headsets are compatible with the Jam. Unfortunately I have yet to hear original earphones that are acceptable to me. I can't remember where I bought it, but the adapter with a built-in mic and 3.5 headphone jack is probably what you are looking for. I use one in my car. Maybe somone has a link for you?

But in this case, is there any high quality 3.5mm earphone that also work as handsfree for the Jam?
This solution uses the internal mic of the PPC Phone so you can use any high quality headset from your local hi-fi store.
Can you confirm that this doesn't mess up the stereo or do anything else weird?
I found it! This is the adapter that I bought for my Sony P800 years ago(works with Magician). You can use it to plug into your home stereo, favorite headphones and it even has a volume control. Mainly I use it in my car. I use it to plug my Jam into my car stereo and sometimes I use it to plug in the earbud for one ear wired headset communication. ENJOY!

I have that. I don't like it too much since it feels very fragile (including the thin wire) and the fact that it isn't a simple straight wire means it snga everywhere.
I only use that adapter in the car. It is good for people that can't make their own headset by soldering. I made a custom headset from Koss headphones and a Sony handsfree. That baby sounds really good, and I'm picky about sound quality.
Does the mic work? Can you accept and end calls using the button?
Thanks,
K
Yes, the above adapter works exactly as the original handsfree headset (+ volume control) except that you have to plug in a normal 3.5 plug stereo headphones. If there are other models out there without the reel thingy, I haven't found it.

wired headset?

Hi chaps,
Do you have any suggestion for a wired compact headset to take phone calls?
I got a bt but its not always on and when I get a call, I dont want everybody around me to hear the conversation but when i pop in a 3.5mm stereo headphone, the microphone stops working
I cant find a combo in-ear headphone microphone thingi with one 3.5mm jack or a mini usb headset... so any suggestions?
What about the original one in the package?
You can leave your device in the pocket and accept or quit phonecalls.
You can set the volume of the incoming call to lowest with the slider left to the navi-stick, then other people do not hear your calls if you are 2-3 meters away.
I'd like to know a wired headset which shows the caller-ID in the microphone case, like the old sony walkman with the display on the wire, showing actual song and volume. The 3.5 jack will not support this, i know.
yeah you can just leave any 3.5mm headphones pluggged in, as long as they are plugged in before the phone comes in you can use the inbuit microphone.
The device still rings, so you just put the buds in your ears and answer.
This is what I do with my senseinhers.
I'd like a decent replacement corded set, don't like the sound quality from BT ones I've tried.
Had a USB one from gpsforless that you can plug your own headphones in just past the mic, but it wasn't well built and lasted about 3 weeks.
I bought this one for use in the car while plugged into my AUX in on the car stereo.

It works great with the Athena, there are a bunch of different types on ebay, just search for "Tytn Adapter" and you will find a bunch.
Pretty much any HTC Extended USB based adapter will work with the Athena.
Good Luck

I don't have such a problem with the original wired headset. The sound is excellent in both WM5 and WM6.
My wired headphones died pretty quickly, so now I use a pair of sennseisher buds, the microphone on the athena works when using standard earbuds, so although not hands free, it is at least a bit more private.
I like this from PPC Techs.

It gives you both 2.5mm and 3.5mm output so you can have your headphones in one plug and the headset in the other.
They have another adapter that goes from the USB for the same purpose but I don't have that one.

registry edit to turn mic back on when audio plugged in

I have been searching for a way to have a cheap hans free unit in my car.
I have my mogul setup with usb/3.5 mm audio converter with aux cable into my stereo. This gives me mp3's playing and also I can hear when someone calls me. The problem is they cant hear me. The mic is shut off with this setup. has anyone found a way around this? thanks.

Use this adapter http://cgi.ebay.com/3-in-1-STEREO-H...ryZ20336QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
and have your 3.5mm into the stereo, and plug in your stereo headset into the headset port. You will then have audio going to both the headset and the stereo in your car, as well as audio input from the headset. Sounds kinda cool if you have both the car stereo and headset on and have some music playing. You can also have a car charger plugged into the extra port for a charge while you go.
I plan to take a headset and splice to wire the mic through my driver side column for better mic placement. Now I just hold the mic in my hand.

Anyone got any wired headset recommendations?

I'm not a big fan of BT headsets, does anyone have any recommendations for any wired headsets/headphones w/mic?
Thanks
I got this from cellphone shop, a yahoos seller.
Original HTC Stereo HAN-HTCEMC220

Personally I love my SteelSeries Siberia in-ear headset, and use it with an adapter that has mic and volume control built in..
I posted about the handsfree set here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394845
Check this out they work great with HTC and great quality stereo sound.
You can check this place out they have huge selection. Their pricing is also near wholesale. I tried the HTC OEM 2.5mm Stereo Headset Silver here http://www.myphonetrader.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=HTC+Headset Make sure you check through out the site for all the different headset that they have to offer
I just bought an miniUSB to 3.5mm Adapter with a long cable and a mic included.
Attach your prefered headphone to that adapter and you are ready to go
My in-ears are those Koss http://www.koss.com/koss/kossweb.nsf/p?openform&pc^np^KEB24S
if you put them in with high pressure you will not hear nothing from your surrounding very nice

FM Radio with BT Headset?

Hi,
somehow I can't get my BT Headset get to work with the FM Radio.
Only the regular headset (needed as antenna) produces sound..
Any suggestions?
I search the forum but could find a topic, is there I any I missed.. let me know.
Maybe im wrong, but i think you have already nailed this one the clue being the antenna bit.
I was asking myself the same question. I imagined two solutions :
1) Take an old headset, cut wire 20 cm maybe from the connector to have an antenna (sort of). But I wonder if there is no side effect (infinite impedance headset supported ?)
2) Maybe there exists special FM antenna who plugs in an headset plug ? I have searched such device, but not found.
But there is, with both solution, a potential problem : if HD detects an headsed (even a false one), maybe sound will not be routed to BT...
But I'll try the first solution one day or other
When using bt headphones, I plug a dummy stereo jack to disable the speakers. So, if the bt is disconnected, music will not go through the device speakers.
When doing so, I noticed that radio works quite well. However the sound is not routed to bt headphones so from the menu the only option is to play through the device speakers. Reception is ok with nothing but a stereo jack, but this doesnt solve the issue of routing sound to bt headphones.
Care to try this
Gent's
The attached app is for re-routing audio to a paired BT headset. I've never tried it as i don't have a BT Headset
You'll still need to attach an antenna of some sort (e.g. a normal set of HTC headphones with the ear buds cut off so it look's sort of made for the task)
