Has anyone used this on their Mogul?
Does anyone know what the sms messages should look like that you send to the phone running Ultimate Theft Alert to get the GPS info?
As an example, Sprite Terminator responds after it receives a txt with "spritecmd password gps"

Hello, I´m trying to kill by code the notification popup bubble that is shown when you receive a new sms message, just inmediatly when it appears
Is it possible ??
Thanks in advance
This is a problem that the SMS app should clean up. Basically, the sms notification messages tell the phone to do things. For example the message to turn on the new SMS indicator is a blank text message with a subject of
Voice Mail
From
"Voice Mail System" . <[email protected]>
The SMS application should delete it afterward. After Talking to a smart guy from T-mobile Wireless Data group I also learned that this is a function of the Glenair voicemail system. Some upgrades cause it to send these messages as I did NOT get them in the past on my Nokia 8290. Some handsets do this automatically apparently or maybe its just something new.
Of course I may be totally wrong...
other imput appreciated.

There`s a key in the registry (HCUK/Software/Microsoft/SMS/Protocols/..) in which is defined which Application should start when a SMS arrives, standard is /windows/tmail.exe - if you change this key(s), you can redirect the SMS to other programms and the POPups are away. But be carefull: If the Application in the key don`t handle the SMS, the SMS-Text are "lost in space".
Hope that helps al little bit? ;o)

This notification you mention is specific to T-Mo and does only that, wake up. I have tried to kill this little run many times with no avail. For some reason the 2003 OS's except 4.00.10 do not have this as a default. I did not do a system snap in between upgrades, wish I did then I could finally tell what little bastard does this and kill it in future versions if I or other US users are happy being notified only once instead of twice by two different methods that they have a flippin' Voicemail
On MDA there's an Option to turn off the Bubble (but there's also an envelope on top of the screen.
Start->Settings->Sounds&Notifications->Notifications->Post: New SMS
If you remove the hook on "Show Message" further on there is no bubble again

I like to have my phone plugged into my car cradle, but don't want my passengers to read my SMSs over my shoulder.
Could someone please program an app to turn toggle SMS reception whilst leaving the phone active?
I know that this might be the ugliest of hacks, but my privacy is important to me.
Thanks.
Sounds like you want to disable access to the Inbox, not receipt of SMS right?
If so, there are some options floating around to disable access to the inbox.
If you really want to do what you describe, and prevent receipt of sms, I can write something to do that I think, subject to time pressures
Can't promise though.
But I'd suggest going for an inbox locker before an SMS blocker.

Thanks for the reply Vijay =)
What I need is to stop the phone from popping up the message in a notification. Going to the inbox isn't a problem as long as there isn't an alert or a notification.
I'll PM you the reason.
PReDiToR - from your pm, I think really you just need to disable notifications for SMS. I think if you also check the registry there's a registry key for received SMS (I may be wrong. There is one for message sent).
If you're still having troubles, I'll think about a 3rd party solution, but my thinking is it's quite complicated... but I need to think about it anyway

Anyone here familiar with the software on the Treo that will allow you to reject an incoming call & immediately send the caller a text message? Is there a way to get that functionality somehow for a non-Palm device? I saw where the threaded SMS app was extracted and thought this might be possible also.
Anyone?
Thanks,
Rob
i have a app like that on my wizard, its called SMSNotifier.. i dont have the cab, but in the about section it lists http://blogs.msdn.com/aalialikoski so i did the legwork, lol go to http://aalialikoski.members.winisp.net/BlogContent/Projects/SMSNotifier/default.htm
How many of you have used a treo 650 or maybe 600. If you have then you will remember how cool it was to send sms (text) messages from that phone. For thos e you havnt used the tero, when send sms message it stored them in a Instant message configuration. So to my question or wish, does anyone know it there is a program for the 8125 (running wm 5) or 8525 (wm6) that will give me this capability ? I hate how the sms messages just pile up on the screen . Any help would be appreciated!
Hmmm, try doing a search for "threaded SMS app" - i don't think you'll have to look too far ;-)
Is it possible to have specific notifications of received SMS's based on who they are from? If so what program will do this?
All my friends cheap phones do this and it burns me...Wish I knew a way also.
a Program called Ringo i believe will allow you to set up sms and call profiles for certain people.
