inmarsat - have you seen another emulator other than the ones built into evc? It would be cute. The evc one is most (or only!? )useful for developers I guess.

the key point is not evc, it's wether the emulator is a PPC one or an mobile phone one, coz they have got different OS
I think
EVC has an emulator for PPC and Smartphone, Win Mobile 2003 and Win Mobile 5 I think. Just download each of the SDKs.
V
ok

both from microsoft website? i only found ppc emulator with evc. anyway, il have a look at it as you suggested.
thanks 4 ur suggestion!
of course, your code needs to be compiled to run on the emulator. You can't just take normal StrongArm (ie real) PDA programs and run them on the emulator.
Hope the info helps. BTW, I think microsoft will post out free demo disks of the SDKs and visual studio if you look around on the website.

Hi.
The "emulators" inside the PPC 200x SDKs / WinCE SDKs are not really emulators.
They can be seen as swappers, because they do not emulate ARM processors.
If you need a real PocketPC / Smartphone emulator with real ARM emulation,
than try google: "device emulator", "Windows CE 5.0 Device Emulator", "device emulator 1.0"
You will find (an unofficial) emulator/ emulators, which is/was/were also developed by $Micro****$.

Some googling brought me to this page: javabluetooth.com and this one: javabluetooth.org. the second one contains source code and jars for a jsr-82 implementation, but no obex.

Did anyone get BT running with J9 on a PDA or do we start using C#!!

There is definitely a solution... TAO Intent Java Midlet is what you are using and it's crappy IMHO. Search the web for JBed Java and here's some links for you. JBed is faster, lighter, full-screen, and works very well...

Garmin mobile PC works fine...
You can also use TomTom if you configure a network share to store the maps. Requires that Vista is running though.

Heey , it is you who post that instructions to setup Garmin Mobile PC. I was looking in the internet for solution then found that interesting site.
So, would you mind post some shots for the gpsgate configuration window.

WVGA Java for X1 ?

Hi,
is there a release of Esmertec (or other) Java Virtual Machine that supports native screen resolution? Using the one that comes with R2A, apps look really ugly...
TIA
I'm interested in this if anyone has any info to share!
i suspect that it's the java apps
fault if you try a vga java midlet you can
verify it

No, I've installed a WVGA JVM once, but it was quite old and GPS connectivity didn't work. The app I was interested in displayed in WVGA, though.
Bump.......
Found one that works. Search the forum for "VGA Esmertec Jbed 20090217.5.1R2.CAB.zip".
I uninstalled the midlets before installing this CAB. It replaces the stock JVM.
Now I have full 480x800 resolution ;-)
Bump for great justice...
