can anybody tell me how to set my email to automatically download the messages and pictures. whenever i look in my yahoo mail i have to hit a link to "download the rest of the message" and then i have to hit send/receive to get the message, and to unblock pictures then download pictures. is there a way to set this to automatically do this. I'm using ttran's biggy 3.0 rom if it helps at all
Go to messaging, then options ... pick the account you're talking about ... then go thru the options.. at one point you'll get to a page that has a link in blue to advanced settings... in there you can set the kb amount to download, including the option download the whole msg.

It's all good man. Everyone has their n00b moments ... I know I have! haha
I just flash new roms ALL the time, so I continually see the settings I need over and over ...

Whenever I send an email from Outlook on the phone, it adds this signature line "Sent from my Windows Phone". It can be deleted manually in the email, but I'd prefer it was never added in the first place. Does anybody know how to remove it automatically?
I've searched these forums, and there are solutions for removing a similar message in Windows 6.1, but the user interface is obviously all different in 6.5, and I can't find anything in the menus that might do the trick.
Thanks very much for any advice.
Go into messaging, then Menu - Tools - Options then click on the "Signatures" button...and change/delete/whatever...
(Sorry in advance, if some of the functions mentioned beneath is called something else than what I write. I am on a danish ROM, and there not 100% sure what the english options are called... But you should be able to figure it out anyways )
Choose your e-mail...
Choose "more"...
Choose "menu"...
Choose "functions"...
Choose "settings"...
Press the button called "signatures"...
Delete what it says in the window there...
Press the OK button in the top right corner...
Et voila!
..go to email - menu - options - signature.
There you can change.
GSIAK
Go to email, click Inbox then Menu > Tools > Options and click "Signatures..." (Edit: it seems that this is nth post about the same, sorry for slow reaction)
Thank you very much. I'd not scrolled down my menus enough to find the "Tools" option under settings, and there are also different settings under different menus (both under HTC Messages and Windows). I've now managed to work it out from your helpful posts.
Thanks for this from me too. I've yet to find a question that I need to ask after spending a few minutes with the search button.

Many thanks from me too! The UK Vodafone ROM installs a new microsoft message!
I like it when it says: Sent from my Htc.. it sounds smug..
...
After all when u send mail from iPhone it says: Sent from my iPhone
Mine says "Sent from my iPhone trouncing HTC HD2"
I'm sure we all want to have the option of looking at our emails in full HTML format by default on our HD2's. Does anyone know how to configure this option. A registry tweak would be nice.
Using the following route for GMAIL you can change your account settings to show 'The Entire Message' and download 'All attachments' by default by still doesn't give the solution we need.
Instructions :-
Go to the Inbox of any account
-> click on the menu key (right soft)
-> on the pop-up menu, select Tools>Options...
-> choose an account to edit
We need an expert on the case! Please.......................
Would it explain why accents don't display ?
Basically, I had an iPhone before and when I received an email, the entire message was downloaded. Pictures & text etc. and you were able to scroll about the entire message without any issues or having to do anything else to gain access to the rest of the email.
On the HD2, I have managed to get the majority of the message downloaded but still not "internet Pictures" are allowed to be downloaded and you have to push another option to scroll right if the email is quite large.
I know that Safari is a different program and not affected by malware and such like but I would like something similar on the HD2.
Are there any tweaks or CABs to fix this???
Thanks
I have been looking for a fix for this since I got my HD2 but it seems that there is no fix.
This is the main thing that is anoying me about this phone (Even more than the sms issue) I cant belive there is not 1 person on here that can hack this and let us download everything by default.
Anyway there is a HUGE donation for anyone who can do this!!
Regards,
Adam Rees
Someone else RAGING about the same things I am!
I think hell just froze over. The 1.6x ROM was pretty good in comparison to the 1.48 ROM. When that is officially been released then texting will be better.
BsB tweaks 1.6 will solve the texting issue till then. It has for me (for the most part).

Yup this annoyed me on the Touch HD also. There must be a registry setting somewhere that will enable the automatic download of pictures for html messages by default. Although this would mean spammers could potentially validate your email if the spam hits your inbox.

Are you serious?
Last year Safari was the second most-vulnerable browser (after FireFox), and most of those vulnerabilities targeted the iPhone version.
Hey,
Like the HD2, but there's one really annoying niggle that I can't figure out how to sort (it's probably a really obvious setting that I'm just missing).
Emails only ever seem to download a very basic preview of what the message is and then give the annoying "click to download the rest of this message" option.
Is there any way to bypass this? So emails are automatically downloaded in full, ready to read?
Cheers
Email tab>Inbox>Menu>Tools>Options>*Choose Email Account*>Download Size Settings
Change Message download limit to Entire Message.
Hope that helps.

Knew it would be somewhere nearby, thanks bud
what if download all mail attachment and pics? seems can't work with this setting.
Edit: tis working now cheers
Dont seem to have the option with hotmail.. Is this right?
I would be also happy to know how to do that with Hotmail. This option is available however doesnt matter what I set there because everytime I select "Download entire message", click "Ok" and then want to reassure if it is set I see just the default values. I could change it just in case of POP3 access but when I am using Hotmail I dont know hot to set it. Maybe I should set Hotmail via POP3 but than I couldnt use "Push email"...
does anyone know how to edit the email signature?
It currently says "Sent from my HTC" but i would like to change this.
Go to Messages-Tab, click on "Inbox" --> right softkey --> Extras --> Options --> in the lower right of the screen is a "signature-button"...
Hi,
The following works for me on stock ROM 1.66 (Maeffjus' suggestion doesn't). Go to Mail tab. Press Inbox, Menu then Tools (you may need to scroll down to see this item)/Options. Near the bottom of the screen is a box marked "Signatures". Press this and the box containing "Sent from my HTC" appears and you can now change it. Press OK in top right to save your change. Remeber and do this for each email account in question.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the tip. Its nice to make it more personal.
I'm using a T-Mob 2.10 rom... sorry for the wrong tip..

Hey, it's not wrong, just different. If JamesHillton is on the same ROM as you it will work perfectly .
Seen from this point of view, I will agree and regret my excuse

Thanks for the advice, i was looking in the account settings options and couldnt find anything there. Im also on the Vodafone 1.66 Rom, so your advice was spot on.
Thanks again.
Cool. Glad to have been of help.
Here is how you do this. Its much easier to find with the old interface.
Tap Start > E-mail > Menu > Options > Signatures and then select the account to which you want to add your signature.
Select the Use signature with this account check box, and then enter your signature in the provided text box.
Check Use when replying and forwarding to add your signature to replied and forwarded messages
thanks..but it's look great with HTC logo..can or not?

Thanks this did it for me with stock Virgin HD2, previously suggested methods not available.
hello peeps, just want a quick tip please..
When viewing emails on my TP2 i get an 'internet pictures blocked click here' link.... anyone know how to download the pictures automatically without having to click the link all the time ?
Also if anyone knows how to do the same for the 'tap here to scroll right' link that'd be great.
Cheers.... drawflex
*bump* yea same issue anybody know how to solve it?
+ plus one for this as well!!!!!
this is a very small issue but it sure is an annoying one for me . there always seems to be some kinda problems when i hit download, tells me i have to wait for the next full download for that email account, which i think is silly because i hit download for it to download now, not later lol you know what i mean, other times it seems to just go into a endless loop asking me to download then telling me to wait and then asking me again to download, rinse and repeat lol.....
There's gotta be a reg edit out there or something that can do it!!!
Any pros out there wanna take a whack at it?? I wouldn't even know where to start lmao.....thanks a lot!!!
If you delve a little deeper into your mail settings:
Tools>Options>Download Size Settings>
Make sure you enable Download Entire Message and also Download attachments

If you delve into your email you would see that this does not work for automatically downloading the pics in an email.
/BUMP\ Anyone with some light they wanna shed on this one ? looks like it aint just me getting a little bit annoyed with this hangup.
This is an age old problem with the WM email application dating farther back since WM5. There is still no fix available till date for this annoyance.
ok mate... thanks all the same .
