Hi. I've tried this before, but got dead ended. I'm trying to keep the wife happy with her SPV5000, which I grabbed from eBay. She's complaining about sluggish response times and connectivity issues.
I'm hoping that someone can point me to a pre-cooked ROM for download that will be easy to upgrade. I would also be able to provide FTP access for uploading such ROM (pm me).

hi everyone i just got my 2nd handset with the original t-mobile rom on it ,i havent flashed it yet because i know alot of people on this forum asking for the original rom ,,,so if anyone can let me know within a couple of days how to dump the original rom so i can upload it here please let me know but hurry as i said i cant wait to remove it

If this is the UK Ameo ROM and someone can extract it and upload it somewhere, I will make another donation to the Black Touch fund as an incentive.

yes its the t-mobile ameo rom original untouched so i will leave it on the device until someone can show me how to extract it ,,i have left the device in its box until someone can show me hopefully soon please as i need to use this device within a month so i wont flash it till then please get back to me asap as i see theres alot of people waiting for this official rom from t-mobile uk

I was abvle to download from Europe site. (http://www.htc.com/europe/)
You can also try or get any WWW rom and install. That should work.

South Africa is also not going to be getting an upgrade by the looks of things... i find that ridiculous. why not just let us install the UK versions...it's the same language after all...

How did u manage to get the serial no. accepted????
If u have a European device serial no. then plz share with us as it would be helpful in upgrading our TD2's..

HT97TL102778 appears to be working.
Has anyone installed a UK / Europe ROM on an Asiapac device? Does it work?
Called up HTC customer care number 1800113377
asked them about "when we will get the update?". Lady on the phone clearly said "we ARE going toget the update". we just have to wait little bit more.
the update is ready with them and it is the HTC HQ's call when to release the update.
bottom line is "wait and watch http://www.htc.com/in/support.aspx"

i've heard from a few of my Indian friends (living in S.A) that they were able to access and download the official ROM with their phones that came from India (after registering).
maybe that works for you guys?

Update Failed
I guess my happiness was short lived - after a couple of steps the updater failed saying invalid vendor ID - nearly gave me an heart attack - the phone was showing some multicolored screen... - At least it did boot back to WM 6.1 later...
Please post if anyone else has success in updating the phone...

DAMN! i'm sorry to hear about your scare...i kinda feel responsible, having suggested the idea!
may I ask why you are avoiding installing a cooked or even OFFICIAL (as in UK version) ROM? are you worried about guarantee? or the risk of damaging your phone? Because if so, then i am gladly willing to walk any1 through the steps you need to take to get it running.

drag-on.. i'll b happy if u could guide me thro the steps , i was kinda scared to install a cooked rom on my HTC diamond2 till now coz while trying to do the same with my HTC touch i bricked my mobile a year back..
and i couldnt find a proper step by guide for doin this.. in every thread regarding the same somebody or the other is getting into problems..
so pls illustrate a proper step by step guide on the procedures of installin a ROM on a factory HTC touch diamond2..
I'll be glad to. what i would then rather do is send you a private message with the steps, so that we don't clutter the forums and have snide comments from senior members about how "easy" it all is. (they ARE right, but i know the first time is scary)

Have you installed it Ashwin? Does it work? I tried the european WWE and it says my device is not supported
6.5 upgrade
I upgraded my d2 with Asian wwe release after doing HARDSPL and it is working perfact

My story is long and can be found here, but the short version is my imported v20 lost radio after an official LG update late last year and has cost me money sending it around the work to find out it'll cost me even more to fix due to non-lg parts.
I tried to follow steps to unlock, root and throw a custom rom on, but failed. I simply didn't have time tk go through it all properly and am basically stuck in team win with the ability to flash a rom but unable to flash said rom.
I still don't have time to figure it out but would like the phone in some sort of working order.
Is there anyone in the UK who can fix it if I send it? I know it's a risk, as I may not get it back, but given this is a community praised in helping, I would like to put my faith in the right place.
