Something is weird for my P3650 from this morning, it never happened before:
When i turn off the display and turn on again, the clock will be adjusted from the time my turning off the display to the recent cerrect time immediately.
I just reinstalled the official ROM and the bepe's 0.58 with SIM or without SIM, but no effect.
Anybody can explain it and help me?
Which clock are you talking about? The large one in HTC Home? If so, mine's been that way since day 1 with the stock ROM. So I don't know if it's normal or not but I assumed it was. Not really a problem though.
I mean the time display @ HTC home or any other themes.
I just confused why it happened first-time this morning, but absolutely never happened before.
Anyway, 10x buddy!

yeah, it's called a Real Time Clock for a reason.
or do you like your clocks to lose time or something?

Course not!
I just hope the time can adjust automatically eventhough the LCD is turning off.
The really reason confused me is why it happened start yesterday, not the 1st day i bought it.

First of all sorry for opening a new thread.....did search but didn´t find anything.....and I usually get annoyed myself by people asking question that have already been answered....
Problem: once in a while - and in no understandable pattern - my HD does not switch to standby after the set timeout (60s for me). Soft-reset does not solve the issue, but it disappears after a while (several times turning the display on/off). Have not changed/installed anything recently. First blamed it on S2U2.....uninstalled and problem seemed to be solved, but only until today - now it´s back in all its glory....
Already compared the - what I think - relevant registry values to my Diamond registry....no suspects there.
And no, there is no video-, audio-, or navigation program running in the background, as the problem manifests itself right after a restart/soft-reset....
Any ideas?
Thanks!!
mine does the same...I've just gotten used to it.

Hmmm....I don´t want to get used to it, because whenever the device wakes up (missed call, reminder, alert etc.) the display stays on (altough dimmed) using up battery power....
Same problem here with my Diamond.
Any news or ideas on this?
Same for me, and it's a very big problem!
I've read in some of the other posts that it may have to do with the activation of auto-screen lock that is included in the ROM, but this isn't turnd on in my case!
I use my Blackstone professionally, which means I need as much battery power as possible on one charge! At the moment this problem makes the device last for about half a day during work!
If anyone has a fix, I would appreciate hearing about it

Same question .. ^^
It's a normal thing or not ? Don't know if the HD does that before installing/uninstalling TFDetacher ..
well mine doesn't do this so it has to be a recent software you installed.
I have seen several people mention it on here before but not so sure anyone had a solution?
Only thing I have installed on mine is G-Alarm?
it's g-alarm thing and i dont see why it is a big deal to a lot of ppl. it's only like for one mins and then it goes back off.. WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL PPL. i dont get it anyway sorry i am not helping but had to take this off my mind

I gave it hot cocoa that didn't work... still woke up at midnight so I tried sleeping pills... same thing again dead on midnight it wakes up - the hot bath however definitely did the job; problem is that it hasn't woken up since
Sorry I couldn't resist!

again it's only for one min. dont you think you're throwing it a little out of proportion.. anyway i am used to bashing my head against a wall but i couldnt do it this time because of all the blood!!. this has been discussed before at least two times to the best of my recollection with no positive results so i am guessing you're going to have to take it with you inside the mattress
Of course it's not a big deal, it's just a " strange" things ..
It's maybe a feeling but i found that my battery drain faster after midnight
So, sometimes i do a soft reset at 00:01
I'll have to do some tests
This is the reason...

It's so that the notification queue can be rebuilt for the next day. It happens anyway in Windows Mobile but G-Alarm offers to extend the amount of time allowed for rebuilding as there's a known bug with the default setting that sometimes doesn't allow enough time for it to finish (15 seconds default and G-Alarm offers to alter it to 2 minutes iirc).
Its biiig problem with that midnight wake

well it actually is BIG problem for me as it is not just for one minute.... somehow when it wakes at midnight it stays on and does not want go sleep again, overriding the settings which i set for keeping backlight for 1 min., and obviously as a result i get drained battery in the morning which is so frustrating as i do not have time to charge it again...so for me that is A BIIIG PROBLEM...
is it the only solution to take off g-alarm?? kind of like it and got so used that really do not want to part with it
Thanks for the few who mentioned it seems to be G-Alarm.
inspireme87 - think you need to chill out my friend........... No, its not a BIG problem for me, I thougt I was just asking a simple question/query
On a few occasions I notice it's got "stuck" and not gone back to sleep as mentioned above so I have to press the power button to make it sleep.

well it's kind of a hard to press power button when you are actually asleep . i do not want to let the phone to dictate my sleep time if you know what i mean.
http://www.ageye.de/index.php?s=galarm/manual/limitations#AlarmBug
2. Windows alarm bug
Windows Mobile has on some devices a strange behaviour: Although an alarm is successfully added to the WM notification queue (it's like a scheduler) it doesn't go off.
Searching the web gave me following information:
At midnight WM rebuilds the notification queue, therefore it wakes up for about 15 seconds. If the notification queue is too big or the device too slow WM goes to sleep again before it could finish building the queue for the next day.
If you force WM too stay awake for a longer time, it should successfully build the queue on at least more devices.
If you start G-Alarm and it complains about the Windows alarm bug, you've got the default WM settings (15 seconds WakeUpTime). If you press "Yes" G-Alarm changes it to 120 seconds which should be enough.
Here are the registry values G-Alarm changes:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts\ACResumingSuspendTimeout
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts\BattResumingSuspendTimeout

I fully agree.
I was talking about things from my point of view/issues I have experienced. The times I have noticed it failing to go to sleep, I have still been awake so noticed the light still on in the room so luckily didn't find my battery was flat in the morning.
I will remove G-Alarm to make sure it's the problem and see what happens.

Thanks for the advice for Galarm (I didnt understood why the device was not shutting down by itself at midnight)

i did found solution, though u need registry editor in order to make it work... change the value of the string in HKCU\Software\ageye\G-Alarm\MidnightWakeUp from True to False. from now on you will not be bothered by waking of your toy and alarm will be working as normal... at least my does.

Thanks for the tip I will give it a try
Mind you most mornings now I am finding G-Alarm seems to hang/crash my phone? The first alarm goes off as expected, i press the snooze button then sometimes it will go off again and then hang.
The G-Alarm screen remains on phone, with the screen lit, and nothing responds, not even holding in the power button. I have to remove the battery.
So might just scrap it as it seems a bit "buggy".
I have same trouble and there is no G-Alarm app on my HD so I think I have problems with another app...
i'm new of HTC TD2. my clock time changes all the time when it goes sleep mode and i press the power button and want to make a phone call, i need to adjust the time back. this is really annoying me coz it means i can't use this mobile as my alarm at all.
can anyone help me? I've already read the thread in the forum. but still can't find the solution. Thanks heaps.
Same thing is happening for me. This is the second Pure that I have owned and it seems like the time doesn't "keep up". Sometimes it will be only a few minutes behind; other times, hours. It has caused me to be late for work and I now have to set 2 alarms (I hate using standard alarm clocks and their annoying beeps and prefer to wake up to music that I have set on my phone, but I need a reliable back up). I really like the phone and hate to have to send it back for the second time for the same thing, but HTC seems to think that it is AT&T's network issues (funny how no one else or any other phones in my house have this problem). I'd be interested to know how many other people are experiencing the same problem.
Play with your sync time with network setting and see if that helps.
Thanks for the reply.
i think i've solved the problem. just unticked the automatically time zone changed. and it's running fine now.
Hi,
I checked the web on this issue and have found it being reported on other sites but I can't seem to find the resolution, if there is one....
I received my Nexus 4 last Friday. Been digging it ever since. I came from the SG2 Skyrocket on att. I realized how much I miss the pure Android experience on a phone without the carrier's bloatware and manufacturer software.
however during the Super Bowl, my buddies and I discovered a weird bug on the phone. Upon waking up from a "long" hibernation, my time/clock is off by 20-30 minutes. Once I reboot the phone, the time is corrected. However, it's kinda weird waking up in the morning, my bedside clocks displays the correct time but when i wake up my phone, the time/clock is incorrect.
Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone know the resolution??
Much thanks..........
It happened to me once or twice before on my N4 stock/rooted. What is your setup under Settings>Date and Time ? Sometimes when you have Automatic date & time and Automatic time zone enabled and you are out of mobile network service, the time doesn't get updated until your phone mobile connection is restored. In my opinion, this behavior smells like a bug. Post a screen shot of that settings page if you could....

Hi Hash,
Thanks for the feedback. I went into the settings, as you directed, and see that both Automatic date & time (use network provided time) and Automatic time zone (use network provided time zone ) are both checked.
I will try and take a picture tomorrow morning for, again, it was weird looking at my cell phone which says 5:35am when my bedside clock showed 6:00am.

My Issue with Pictures
All,
To document what is happening to my phone, I am attaching pictures to this post. The early morning picture post, I had my Wifi turned on. After the pictures were taken, I turned off WiFi an let it go int hibernation until I woke up at 6am. As you'll see in the second picture, my time/clock was way off.
I am using Beautiful Widgets for the clock but can't see that causing my issues.
Any thoughts? Hate to return the phone for I'm really loving it but don't want the phone if I can't depend on the time!
Thanks!

Have you tried the stock clock to see if Beautiful widgets is the issue. Try that first. Next thing I would try is to leave WiFi on during sleep and see if the issue is fixed. I would expect to have some lag after a wakeup for the clock to update but no more than 15 seconds. Good luck.

Thanks Grubbster -- I have to admit and I'm somewhat embarrassed in doing so, I couldn't figure out how to use the stock clock on my home screen and when I couldn't figure it, I thought "hey, I purchased Beautiful Widgets...I'll just add that clock to my screen....".
FYI -- I have always left my wifi on during the night and into hibernation. Last night I had the brain child thinking maybe it's the Wifi that is causing my delays for when I first noticed the time issue on Sunday, it was while I had my Wifi on....so I thought I'd turn it off to see if the time would be correct......freaking weird....

The stock clock is a widget. Just go into your widgets, long press the clock, and drag it to your home screen. Also, does the clock in the status bar show the correct time when waking up?
Check your beautiful widget app settings to see if there is anything related to updating system settings. Maybe a frequency (10 min, 15 min, etc.) that needs to be changed.

Ok. Thanks -- duh -- there it is. I'll try this for a day to see if this will resolve the issue.
This has happened to me once, on Faux's kernel. It was my first time ever undervolting my device, and I undervolted by -100 mV (fast binned chip). It did it twice, and both during deep sleep. But the time corrected itself once I go into Settings > Date & Time and unchecking-and-rechecking the Auto Time setting.

No. No task killer....though I have to admit....I was discussing my issue with a fellow phone geek. He believes my 2 options are: if it's an internal hardware issue, I'll need to get a new phone if it loses connection to the antenna which connects to my att network for the time/clock. Or if it's a software issue, then maybe a flash can resolve it.
I'm also going to contact Google later today and see what my return options are if, by tomorrow, I'm still experiencing this..
Thanks...
So am I the only one who has this lock screen clock "stuck" at a time time problem?
I am literally disgusted by this issue! It happened on the S4 I had, and I thought Samsung definitely has solved the problem but nah they didn't.
The problem is, the lock screen clock gets stuck at a time, and doesn't update with system time. No, it doesn't happen always, but it could happen at a time which could be really important, just like it happened today. I went to bed at 1 a.m, checked the phone when I temporarily woke up, the lock screen clock showed 3:44 a.m. I went back to sleep, suddenly I felt that there's a glimpse of sunlight on my windows, and checked the phone again, and it was actually 6:44 a.m.
Seriously speaking, I am fukcing tired of this problem. No I don't depend on the phone's lock screen clock, but the only time I check it is when I am in bed, sleeping, and that's when the problem has happened today.
Is there really no solution of this? Using a third party lock screen app or what?
Damn I am annoyed!

Most likely you have Greenify-ed something that you should have not.
This happens sometimes, yes. Annoyed me to no end on my S3.
Personally I use Zooper Widget as a lockscreen. (if you set multiple widgets and create a second widget page, you can delete the default lockscreen page by longpressing and dragging it to the bin at the top..) I've not seen Zooper have this bug

Check any battery save application that you might use. I had the same problem and it was due to an application that was saving battery. Sometimes this happens when i had the power saving mode too.

I do NOT have any battery saving applications installed. If there's one thing I don't care about in mobile phones, that's battery life. So Greenify, and all those apps are not in my phone obviously.
Just updating the topic with a screenshot of the problem which I was talking about. Was lucky to snap the screenshot yesterday before going to bed, cause usually as soon as I press the home button to take the screenshot the time use to update.
