Hi All,
I am new to the forum. I have owned a PDA phone for about a month, a Verizon (HTC/Apache/UT Starcomm/Audiovox) XV6700. It was rebadged so many times, I have no idea who really made it.
I read about A2DP Bluetooth technology. I also read reviews of several headsets before purchasing the Motorola HT820 headset.
I loaded up a two-gigabyte mini-SD card with mp3 files, popped it in, paired the headset to the phone and engaged Windows Media Player.
Unfortunately, the sound quality is horrible. It sounds as if I am listening to music played over the phone, as if I am on hold with some customer service call center. I know the headphones are capable of much more because they come with a stereo mini-plug cable. When I plug them into the audio output on my laptop, the headphones come alive with decent sound quality.
I did not modify my registry or add .cab or .dll files. When I paired the headset with the XV 6700, I just checked the "hands free," "wireless stereo," and "headset" options.
Am I missing something or is this the sound quality I can expect from this technology?

Make sure you have the new ROM update for the Verizon VX, and install the Tornado cabs and dll files.
A2dp on xv6700
I have updated my rom, made the Tornado changes, made other reg changes as described in this and related forums - all to no avail. Stereo Sound is constantly clipping. Phone sound is ok.
What else can I try
Feel free to email me direct.
You may want to try another player, like pocket player. Or try another BT stereo headset. If that dosn't work you may want to try getting your device swapped out with a new one. I can't get it to work on my PPC6700, but am waiting for a fix of the EVDO/ring through problem with newer units before I try to swap mine out.
xv6700 a2DP lag
I have already tried the pocket player - no difference. I am also on my second headphone set (albeit from the same vendor).
Unfortunately Verizon will not swap out because an unsupported feature does not work. At least that is what they told me.
Don't worry you are not the only one that can't get it to work.
The bluetooth on the 6700 is not very good, so YMMV when it comes to A2DP. It is a unsupported feature, you may need to convince them the BT is bad, but don't mention the A2DP.
I am waiting for a fix of the EV-DO ring through problem on the shipped PPC6700 with the new ROM before I have Sprint look at mine.
XV6700 A2DP lag problem.
Unfortunately without A2DP "enabled", the bluetooth connection seems to work just fine.
BTW: What is the EV-DO ring through problem?

It dosn't apply to Verizon VX6700, just the Sprint PPC6700.
Low sound quality with 6700 and Moto HT820 headset / A2DP
I am new to posting, be kind please. I have spent a lot of time and research on this problem and I am having some luck and some other problems that there may be some great info on. I do have the latest firmware from UTStarcom (Verizon model) which has AKU 2.0 update. I did install the tornado A2DP I found here and it did not work at first until I found the additional Tor_A2DP_cert.cab file and installed it. It works and seems to be stable, including headset operations. The only problem is sound quality. There is a ringing like high pitched digital noise, my experience in electronics would have me thinking of a bandwidth limitation, or timing issue that would be a result of process priority or something, just guessing! I have the Plantronics 590a stereo headset that sounds great when using the BT with my laptop, so I beleive it is with the phone. The big question, has anyone tried changing the registry settings concerning bluetooth? I see some entries here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\BTAGSVC and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\BTHIDSVC don't know what they are or what they would do, not brave enough to change them.

I have two BT Stereo headset, 2 different A2DP devices, BT laptop, and a BT dongle and get different results with different combinations.
- Southwing SA505 Bluetooth Stereo Headset (works great with everything, questionable manufacture quality, broke after 3 months of use)
- Moto HT820 Bluetooth Stereo Headset (good quality, but BT functions & sound is problematic)
- Cing 8125 (running Faria Crossbow WM6)
- LG enV VX9900 (vanilla os)
I believe it is just a simple case of both Bluetooth software of your device and headset not getting along together.
The SA505 works perfectly and sound quality is awesome with all A2DP & BT remote devices (including both devices, BT laptop, and a cheap generic usb BT dongle installed on my desktop)
The Motorola HT820 on the other hand is quirky...
Paired to the 8125 - when listening to music, sound breaks briefly (for 0.5 - 1.5 secs) randomly every 30-60 secs. Everything else is fine including sound quality.
Paired to the vx9900 - it unpairs when getting a incoming call & I have to manually pair it back up. Everything else works fine including outgoing calls. Good sound.
Paired to laptop or BT dongle - works perfectly.
in short the only thing that could be done is on the handset side by changing the BT stack or rom.
hope this helps.
Just try MSI Blue Player, this is the only PLAYER which post a high quality sound to my bluetooth ear piece.
VX6700 and Bluetooth
Just as a friendly note, I had the Verizon VX6700 until last week. I had tried numerous bluetooth headsets with it and all seemed sub-par or totally unacceptable. The last one I tried was the Southwing SA505 and was, to say the least, displeased with the sound quality. I shelved all my bluetooth headphones and continued using the Motorola H700 earpiece for phone use only even though it was hard to hear in noisy environments, but was the lesser of all evils. Last week, I was available for upgrade from Verizon and got the LG Chocolate, took it home and put some music on it and used the plug in style headphones for the first day. After getting sore ears from the round-stuff-them-in-your-ear-hole type headphones, I decided to try the Bluetooth headphones again for the mere humor of having spent over $200 on the lot of them. The Southwing SA505 sounded phenomenal on the Chocolate. I then tried talking to my wife driving down the road with the windows rolled down and going 65 MPH, which had always been a problem before. She actually sounded like she was right next to me in crystal clear stereo (which if you have been married 21 years as I have, then you understand what a scary thought that is). I don't think the problem you are having is the headset but rather the phone and unfortunately I have no answer how to fix it, but hopefully have steered you in the right direction of where the problem lies. Good luck to you.
My wife and I both have G1s (not rooted) running the official OTA version of Android 1.5. We also both own stereo bluetooth headphones (hers is an older Logitech, mine is a year old Sony).
These headphones behave pretty differently when connected, and these differences remain the same regardless of which handset we're using so I'm assuming the difference is in the headphones themselves.
Her older Logitech model is very reluctant to connect after it's been paired. It usually requires restarting both the phone and the headphones a few times before it will finally hold a connection. Otherwise, it just shows "Connecting..." then "Paired but not connected", alternating back and forth every ten seconds or so when we're trying to set them up.
When her headphones finally do connect, the sound quality is fine but her entire system is slowed down to basically unusable levels. Even something as simple as selecting a new album from the music player app is rendered nearly impossible. These headphones seem to work fine on other A2DP devices, specifically an old T-Mobile Dash that we had sitting around, but had the same effect on both G1s.
My Sony headphones connect nearly instantly every time we try them, and while it does seem to create some mild slowdown from time to time it is nothing like the unusably slow system that the Logitech headphones create. Does anybody know why different bluetooth headphones would affect the system so differently?
While I can't offer insight as to why this happens, I can substantiate your original observations. I have a pair of Motorola S9's, and they periodically have difficulty connecting to the phone, requiring powering cycling both the headphones and bluetooth.
The phone also takes a performance hit and I even experience severe music skipping while doing anything intensive on the phone (browsing heavy websites and the like).
These headphones work fine with other A2DP phones.
Edit: I am on the Ion build.
I ended up solving this problem by buying a second pair of Sony headphones for my wife, but I'm still interested in learning what could have possibly caused this dramatic difference between them if anybody has any insight.
If anybody's interested, the headphones that work well were a pair from Sony: DR-BT22 is the model number. They're pretty good and $30 on Amazon right now if anybody needs to replace a set that is causing slowdowns.

(Update: 2/23/10: To replicate the problem, use a bluetooth headset, make a call, then walk away from the phone until you're almost out of range. That's exactly the problem I have when I'm holding the device, it doesn't matter where I am distance wise, the best audio call quality I get STARTS where most phones get when you're too far from the device. Ideas?)
After weeks (3 straight) of searching, I have to finally ask.
Does anyone else have an issue with the quality of their bluetooth connection (calls only) regardless of brand and distance from the phone?
I've purchased nearly 13 different bluetooth devices trying to fix this. Changing the distance from the actual handset (experimenting if there's a different to if the Hero is plugged in or not), the price of the bluetooth unit, what type it was (speaker phone unit only, carkit, headphones, ad2p or not, etc etc), and I still have a poor call quality call.
Reception isn't an issue, I've tried from full bars to almost no bars, and in every instance, when I disconnected the bluetooth and went back to using either speakerphone, headphones, or directly on the device, the noise went away.
You can only hear the noise when the remote party speaks, and it really sounds like the old analog bag phones in bad reception. Is there anything as far as changing settings on the bluetooth to improve the audio quality?
not really. the BT module sends information to the receiver and the receiver decodes that into audio. so you cant really set an EQ for BT with android at least so it basically depends on the receiving unit. while music is playing turn the volume down to 75% on the phone and thats the best quality you will get. im an audiophile and it works for me.
I have a Plantonics Stereo BT.
It works great on my Hero... Much better than my HTC Diamond!
Haven't had any trouble from my Jawbone 1. The sound quality isn't as good as it was on my TP, TP2 or Pre but it's ok. Haven't had any weird noises. But it does randomly disconnect from my Hero. Well the phone says it is still connected but I get no call notifications through it and when I answer, the audio is through the handset. Even right after I finish talking to someone through the BT. Gonna have to chalk it up to the Hero cause I've had no issuse with it on any other phones. Best BT ever in my opinion.
Yeah, I don't know. I have used the Jawbone II, Jawbone Prime, Moto H12, Moto H790, and Plantronics Voyager Pro all with no problems in sound quality, also audio quality is very important to me because I do have some hearing loss. My call quality with the Hero isn't quite as good as with my old Blackberry Curve, but it is still very functional as I use it at least an hour everyday. If you have gone through that many headsets it is quite possibly the device itself.
I don't know, I have 3 Hero's and I honestly don't like the quality of sound on any of them. One of them is just straight stock. I just wish I could get it with a clear quality as my old dumbphones have. I think I've been helped to discover the answer to my question, thank you all!
I want to buy a pair of Bluetooth headsets for use with my Acer Iconia and I decided to ask you guys for some suggestions. It is very important for the headset to have at least a Play/Pause button and a Next Track button. If there is also a previous track than that is even better. A mic is not important since I don't plan to talk. But I want to be able to change tracks while the tablet is in my backpack.
I read the thread with different accessories for this device and I did see some that I like. But I wanted to get feedback from people that actually have used the device with a certain headset and can confirm that the next track and play/pause buttons work. Also, if anyone can post some info about the needed technology for this feature to work with the device just in case I plan to buy something else than you are recommending. (Example: any headset that has XXX will work)
Regards.
I found these and on the Motorola website is sais they are compatible with the XOOm...doest that mean they work with the iconia as well? If so I may buy them: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00455CB62?qid=1317285199&ref_=sr_1_119&s=wireless&sr=1-119
Hi,
I use SonyEricsson MW600. This little thingy has volume bar control, skip forward and backward, pause/play button AND a FM radio inside!
Pairing was no problem, but I didn't test it with the tablet. However it works very well with my Galaxy I9003, so I assume it will work with the ICONIA, too.

Although it isn't often recognized, there is a distinction between "headset" and "headphones". The difference is usually branding.
A headset is often used for communication. They usually have lower quality speakers (to reduce price), and have a microphone.
Headphones and for listening only, and don't typically have a microphone, but will include speakers that are often proportional in quality to the amount you pay for them.
That being said, there are devices that try to fill both roles. This is why most people tend to get them confused. The line between "headset" and "headphones" can be rather blurred; however, when talking about bluetooth devices, this distinction becomes very important.
Bluetooth uses different protocols to communicate, depending on the type of data being transmitted. The three most common protocols for this application are:
AD2P - A uni-directional protocol, used for streaming 2 channels of high bandwidth data (audio). This is typically used for music, but will not work for headsets because the data can only travel one way at a time.
HSP - This is the primary bluetooth audio protocol, and is supported by nearly every bluetooth "headset". It is full duplex, meaning audio can travel to a from the unit at the same time, at a cost of bandwidth. As such, the downside with this protocol is that the sound quality tends to be lower. This protocol is not supported yet by the A500 (or any android tablet, AFAIK). If you get a device that requires this protocol, it will not work.
HFP - This is for hands-free features, and can work in conjuction with either of the above protocols. It allows you to control your call/music features, such as smart-dialing, volume or track skipping.
If you are looking for a "headset" that works with the A500, you might be out of luck. Based on your post, I'm guessing you're looking for "headphones", so I'll give you my recommendation, I personally like the RF-MAB2 by rocketfish. The sound quality is great in AD2P mode, and they work with my cellphone as a headset. They do support HSP and HFP, but as mentioned above, the A500 does not support the HSP protocol. The skip/forward/volume/etc buttons will work though. I like the behind the head design, which allows me to wear a bike helmet, or a hard hat (I work in construction) while I wear them. I was so impressed, a bought a second set. They usually retail about $40.
Hope that helps.
Thanks a lot for your answer. It really helped.
Not being in an English speaking country I did not not know the difference between a headset and a headphone. Thanks for clarifing that as well.
I've had these for a year. flawless on A500 and any phone

The headset really digs into the base of my skull. Owie.
I bought a set of those, but apparently I have a fat head.
Settled on the LG HBS 700 headset, and haven't looked back. Use it for my tablet, AND for my Samsung Epic 4G Touch when I go running. Best BT headset I've ever bought.

Do you prefer over the ear in inside the ear? Over the head or around the ear?
I personally HATE inside the ear headsets because they give me ear fatigue almost instantly. No matter what size, they always feel like a really big screw forcing their way into a small hole. I also dislike around the ear headsets because depending on their design can put a lot of pressure on the tips of your ears or your skull at certain points.
I own the Motorola S9 Active and S10 HD headsets and can say that they are pretty good when it comes to sound and are sweat resistant but as I said, for me they hurt after about 30 minutes of use. It may simply be the shape of my head and earholes. If your head is small then they may work nicely for you.
The only reason I endure the torture is because of the gym. My pain adds to the gain
What I use, love and has been the most comfy headset I've ever used is my over the ear, around the ear Dell BH200, unfortunately that may not help you as I don't think they are sold anymore.
I have been using this Jaybird pair for about a year when I go cycling. I was really reluctant to spend the money knowing in the ear styles never work for me, but I'm glad I gave them a shot.
Best pair of headphones I've ever used!! Crisp bass and excellent high end. Really like that I can pair with my Incredible and answer phone while biking.
Use to watch movies on my Iconia and they sound great. Pair and connect flawlessly.
i use the jabra bt8010 works great
Motorola hd9 stereo is the one I use like the HD 10 only I have had them well over two years I think
Oder extra ear buds they tend to fall off and get lost in my bottomless purse.
Grrrrrrr.
I been using MOTOROKR S305 for about a year+. No prob at all, use it when i am at gym or in rare moments when i find some free time to relax and listen to music... The thing i like about them is they dont shut the world out for me... Like in gym i can tone out the surrounding and be able to work out and enjoy music, yet i am also aware of people around me and can move out of the way if they drop a dam weight (rare occasions) or talk/spot them if they ask. Also S305 has control on the side, so you can FF or RW. If you have it paired with your phone you can answer calls or make calls using voice commands.
So far they been working well for my lifestyle.
I just assumed that I could use any bluetooth microphone for voip, voice recording etc. I currently do not have any bluetooth device but I tried 3 at a friends and they all paired for sound, but failed to work in using a voice recording app or a voip app. In a voip app the sound went strange (long sounds on the dial tone buttons) and then the sound resumed coming out of the tablet even though the headset device was showing as connected. Only a reboot solved this.
So I assume the bluetooth stack doesn't support recording, but why not? Isn't this a basic thing at this point? If I connect a bluetooth headset with mic that should be my input and output on sound for the time it is connected.
Or has anyone had success with a certain bluetooth model for recording?
No one can provide info on this? Is this the norm for tablets? I would assume even some ancient gingerbread phone would work with bluetooth headset/mic.
Does cyanogen team ever modify the kernel to include more functionality such as this?
I'd check other bluetooth threads around this section, but I've heard several people who've used bluetooth headsets with Nexus tablets. It may be a setting issue (particularly the device setting under bluetooth and the app settings concerning headsets).

Same here, Plantronics bluetooth headset works perfectly for voip calls using Talkatone.
Thanks for the info. I don't have the model names off-hand but I'll ask my friend what they were. I wasn't aware that once a bluetooth device was paried that there were any additional options. I was under the impression that it was simply pair and use. With the case of a headset/mic I assumed it was inherited as your sound output/input for all apps while paired. The voip I tried is csipsimple and a voice recording app. I'm glad to at least some models work but I hope it isn't hit and miss and you have to be selective of what bluetooth device you use but rather something I was doing.
I didn't expect there to be any settings as well because even with no bluetooth recording device paired, I don't see anywhere in the settings recording recording (like mic volume).
Can't get mine to work. Single ear set I don't even get sound. Just dead air all around. The Southwing SA505 stereo gets sound fine but no mic function and on Groove ip no sound or mic on single ear or stereo. I even checked the settings making sure bluetooth was selected.
I'm from Canada so I can't try talkatone as I can't get google voice. I now purchased a btheadset. It pairs fine and I hear audio in all apps but I haven't found one app yet that works with the bluetooth mic. I wanted a voip sip app. I've pretty much tried all the free ones and other users have posted comments of bluetooth issues as well. There are a couple of paid sip apps that claim to support bluetooth, but I don't want to buy them to only find they don't.
So yes, android supports bluetooth mics, my thread title is inaccurate, but it seems the vast majority of recording apps do not have proper bluetooth support. Can someone name any app besides talkatone, even a voice recorder that works with bluetooth so I can just test it?
I'm actually surprised it's this bad. Bluetooth audio isn't that cutting edge. It should pair and now act as your soundcard so to speak. I initially thought to blame the OS because I thought any app that requests to play a sound or record a sound, would be re-directed by the OS to now use the bluetooth device.
I'm pretty sure it works exactly like this on windows. Or for example, I have a usb headset on my pc. It shows up as a soundcard. I make it the default and every app now uses that. No developer had to code to use a usb headset/mic, it just works.
Again a little disappointed that it's been a little trying just to get a bluetooth headset to function properly. I tried 3 at my friends that all pair fine and work flawlessly on his playbook in all his apps, and now I bought 1 so it's hard to say all of these bluetooth headsets have quirks and don't work properly with android.
Still trying to get this working. It pairs fine, and shows in the bluetooth details as being connected with phone audio and media audio.
It's a Aluratek ABH01F which I've read great things about. It supports a2dp. I'm not too familiar with bluetooth and microphones so I'm not sure if there is anything else to check for android to support a bluetooth microphone.
I don't know why I didn't think of it before but I tried google's voice search and it doesn't work either. I can hear the audio fine, just no mic.
Can anyone confirm if google's voice search works with their bluetooth mic? You probably have to walk out of the room to verify it's not the units mic that is picking it up obviously.
I'm not convinced bluethooth mics work at all on the nexus 7. I could chalk it up to my headset just doesn't place nice with the nexus 7 but again I tried 3 bluetooth devices at my friends. I found this post on another site:
Well, I got around to testing a bluetooth headset. single earpiece, Avantalk AH28. Not the best, but it works fine with a phone. Paired with the tablet fine. I dialed on groove ip - dial tones came from the tablet, the ringing transferred to the earpiece, when phone was answered there was no sound transmission at all- not from the bluetooth earpiece, or from the tablet. Just dead air. Tried it twice.
2nd test- google music played from tablet- not into the earpiece.
I have a stereo bluetooth headset with mic that I can test with but will have to charge that one up first. Will get back to you.
************************************************** ****
Got to my stereo Southwing SA505 bluetooth test. It worked to play music from tablet beautifully. Did not work with groove IP- went in and made sure settings were set for bluetooth- Mic did not work.

Again, I hear audio fine via bluetooth, so I wonder if some of you were thinking the bluetooth mic was working but it was actually the unit's mic.
This app called tapemachine specifically states it has bluetooth support. It fails for me when I change it to bluetooth in the settings, can someone else try it?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samalyse.free.tapemachine&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5zYW1hbHlzZS5mcmVlLnRhcGVtYWNoaW5lIl0.
So I'm starting to think my thread title is correct. If I am, I'm hoping there is a way to hack some file changing the available audio profiles. I've read others doing something similar with different devices when the manufacturer disable those audio profiles. I would find it doubtful that google/asus would do this though.
Anyway, if anyone can try that app, or confirm that say grooveip is using the bluetooth mic and not the device. An easy test is tap on the unit mic while recording and see if you or the person you are talking to hears that.
No one? I know a couple of you said it worked, but are you sure grooveip is actually recording via the mic? I can hear phone calls using various sip apps with bluetooth, but I know the mic isn't recording. One of the headsets my friend has is a Motorola MOTOROKR S9 Stereo Bluetooth Headphones. Link here: http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-S9-Bluetooth-Headphones-Packaging/dp/B0017KTOJK.
I've only tried stereo headsets, so maybe that is the issue. The Motorola HS850 is a single ear piece, I'm not sure what plantronics set you have.
I'd really appreciate if someone else can verify if bluetooth is working. If bluetooth recording in fact works with the nexus 7, I must be really unlucky with 4 headsets that don't, which I find highly unlikely or nexus 7 has poor bluetooth support. The only thing left is my bluetooth hardware is broken which I find even more unlikely. Aradreamer, you say you've seen several posts saying bluetooth works, but I haven't found one post explicitly stating bluetooth recording works. I found more post on other forums clearly stating it doesn't work.

odd odd ...
first off i have the Nexus 7 16g with it rooted.
heres what i did first i bought the samsung HM1200 didnt thoroughly test that 1 because i figured it just wouldnt work with the device ( or was broken ) once i started to get all this screeching out of it... i heard sound momentarily then all it did was the screeching at different levels. returned it yesterday. then i added a couple more bucks ( about $27 total ) and got the plantronics M20 took it home and crossed my fingers. got it all it paired up and what not and ended up with the same condition except now the mic is working perfectly. i tested this thoroughly now over and over inside and outside and also away from the N7 to be sure the mic is working. this is great BUT i cannot hear any sound at all coming in to the N7 except the same screeching at constantly varying levels. this is with both grooveip and talkatone. i also tried uninstalling beats audio and rebooting but i read somewhere this wont change the drivers back to the originals and i still have the same condition. i just got the N7 about 3 weeks ago and the store where i bought it has a price guarantee so i am today planning to return it and get the N7 again but this time the 32g version. ( they got 2 left so i will be going ASAP. ) so almost all the work i put into setting this thing up is about to be wasted. still i am going to do it anyways. to me its just the point of getting the best i can with my available budget/resources and i can easily see this thing be full and kicking myself in the butt for not doing it. this time around i will test all of what i mentioned here BEFORE i root it. in fact i will only install the necessary apps ( grooveip/talkatone etc.. ) during testing. its a real pain in the butt but it is a MUST i have this thing working as a phone with BT asap. thanks for the input and i will report back later.
update: actually in a more quiet room i was able to hear myself on the BT headset but very very low and in the background behind the screeching. still will report back later with the new unit.
For some reason the Bluetooth headset profile on the n7 is totally broken. I tried MANY headsets and none of them work. It is either the drivers, the hardware or the kernel. I hope it fixable in the 3g version.

Bummer. Hopefully they fix it with 4.2 or with the 3G version.
It also seems that if you try to toggle speakerphone / BT headset in various voip apps the tablet will crash and restart.
I tried with GrooveIP, Talkatone and the build in phone app (After changing the framework-res.apk file).
I also noticed i had better luck getting the BT headset to fully (and randomly) work when doing outgoing calls. It never worked on incoming calls.
Any progress on this?
I've noticed the same problem and just returned a BT headset due to the problems in GrooveIP & Talkatone
As a side note I was able to get the BT headset to work as a MIC with the google voice commands by using the following..
- Soundabout
- Under BT settings set it to force mono BT mic
- Set audio to wired headset
Just as ref, I'm using my N7 in my car, so my setup may be a bit different.
But this worked, I was able to tell my N7 commands and it would read out the response over my car speakers.
Anyone had success with a USB mic? Curious if that will work.
I'm very interested in this thread too.
I have a 32GB nexus 7, rooted and unlocked. I have a Platronics M100 bluetooth earpiece. My goal is to be able to dictate to Evernote through the BT earpiece. It is pairing and under the connect settings it is showing up as "phone audio". But when I speak into it nothing is happening in Evernote. I also do not get media audio through the earpiece.
My Sony xperia Z accepts audio from bluetooth microphones, but only during a phone call.
When the call is terminated the paired bluetooth mic becomes inactive and the phones built in microphone takes over. I have tried many apps but none will accept audio from a BT mic.
I have tried a number of headsets and speakerphones and they all behave in the same way. Sound is not a problem as the BT speaker simply replaces the phones internal one when paired.
The xperia Z has a setting which claims to: " record audio through bluetooth headset if available", but this setting does nothing. I keep retrying the setting at every android update, to no avail. Currently at 4.2.2.
When I plug in a wired headset, the speaker and mic simply replace the ones in the phone. Why doesn't bluetooth behave in the same way?
This issue has been raised in many forums, in relation to many android devices, but never answered.
