o2 icon
no probs........here 2 help
You can actually just tap and hold for a second or so on the icon, and a menu appears with a slide bar...letting you move the icon wherever you want it, that's if you want to keep it anyway.
I just cancelled the install of that all that O2 Active rubbish.
As I've stated before in here, I quite like the version that's on the 2i as it allows you to have different themes without it looking crap. Some of the features on this version are quite useful as well.
I've always wanted a screen that makes use of all aspects of the screen as it would a normal Nokia mobile, for example with battery life up the side and signal strength up the other, with some space to actually show the picture you've chosen.
I don't suppose anyone's found anything like that recently have they? I gave up looking 6 months ago!
Cheers
Anthony
New Update of O2 Connections
New Update of O2 Connections...
Forgot the thread here...
Hi,
Recently upgraded to the M5000 from the M2000 (Blue Angel)
....and I am very pleased with the phone overall but have a couple of questions - I have searched but cant seem to locate the answers:
1. Does the battery drain more when constantly connected to UMTS?
2. Where has my "New" menu gone i.e New text, appointment etc?
3. When the clam shell is closed with the screen on the inside - what are the 3 holes on the top (Looks like a speaker)
4. Why doesn't Excel or Word retain the zoom settings when saving a document?
5. Writing a text using the phone pad the auto lookup for contact names doesnt work - which makes writing one handed texts impossible!
6. Finally, sometimes the icons contained within the settings>system panel disappear and only reappear after a soft reset - any idea why?
Thanks in advance.
Matt
first of all update the rom, and in regards to the 3 holes when the shell is closed, yes its a speaker, u can actually pick up a call without opening the shell, and those 3 holes are wot u put next to your ears to hear the other person.
Looking up contacts via the keyboard works fine wiv me, i got a orange aswell.
In regards to UMTS, i think it will only drain battery if your actually using it to transfer data, once idle, shouldn't have much impact. I personally think wifi uses more battery than UTMS.
If your worried about battery life, get a double capacity battery from ebay.
In regards to the "new" menu, i dont know which one ur refering to, the ORange customisation for the Today screen?
I let someone else answer the rest.
But if you havent, then do update the rom. I had my orange received last week, and it still shipped with the rom that came out last year. Update the rom.
1. Does the battery drain more when constantly connected to UMTS?
Don't know tbh.
2. Where has my "New" menu gone i.e New text, appointment etc?
WM5 removed it in favour of the 2 "Soft-keys" at the bottom of the screen. There is a hack to replace it - do a search on this forum.
3. When the clam shell is closed with the screen on the inside - what are the 3 holes on the top (Looks like a speaker)
4. Why doesn't Excel or Word retain the zoom settings when saving a document?
no idea.
5. Writing a text using the phone pad the auto lookup for contact names doesnt work - which makes writing one handed texts impossible!
Using Contacts to find the person first is faster.
6. Finally, sometimes the icons contained within the settings>system panel disappear and only reappear after a soft reset - any idea why?
:?: :?: :?:
The new menu is now integrated into the orange app that puts a taskbar on the left side of the screen..
You enable it from the today menu
Top icon is contacts inc new
3rd icon is new MMS/SMS etc
4th Icon down is Appts
Next one is MSASUNC, notes, file explorer Calculator and options
Bottom is WWW selections
Thanks for all your help!!
I am loathe to try any unofficial upgrades to ROM until Orange release a new one (I know there is a new Business one but nothing on the customer side).
I received my phone on Thursday 6th April 1900 GMT - and as at 1625 GMT on 12th April - am finally happy with my setup - so am not trashing it just yet!!
Thanks again
Matt

Use the search, it was discussed the other day.
Hi! I have installed version 20 (It was the same with version 19) on my Touch Dual Everything works but I dont have the bottom buttons. There's just a emtpy line in the bottom of the screen.
Is there somebody else that had this problem?
Some skins are like that, they hide the buttons, it could be that, install a new or default skin with m2dC.
Btw, why v0.20? 0.21 works fine on the Nike too.
Also, 0.22 is pretty close by...
By the way, what is the differences between versions?
I use first (may be second or third, something like that) release, and everything is works, also bug free
But something pulls me to get latest version...
The one thing I noticed right away on v0.22 is the speed, I never had any version this fast, also it has the new footprints tab, but I dont have GPS (sigh) so I'll have no use for it.
From all the other versions behind I noticed mostly bugfixes. But I only use 5 tabs, so something may have slipped without me noticing.
I have two questions
1)Where you did get new v22?
2)Seems like new versions have cutted animation.
On my version, if i tap on another tab, it will change with smooth-slide animation.
But in new one, if i tap on another tab, it just change the tab, without any animation.
This is a new feature or it doesn't work propely on my device?

The new 0.22 its out already.

I only ever saw that on the weather tab, never on any other...
It was true
New versions have no scroll animation, like Manila3D
(New versions of Manila3D have cutted animation too)
I tried hard reset and then version 21 but I still don't get the buttoms in the bottom. Lucky I can play with manilla on my new Diamond after the weekend!
I have M2D 0.22 and I have a problem with the 4 icons on top (battery, sound, operator signal, operator network type).
I can only tap on the 3 on the left (I cannot tap then battery icon).
After I tap once, the 3 on the left appear in a bigger screen and if I tap anyone of them will open the application immediatly on the right!).
For instance...
Screen: 4 icons (network type, signal, sound, battery).
I can only click on the 3 on the left (network type, signal, sound). By doing that a bigger menu appears with those 3 icons.
By tapping network type icon, it opens network identification application.
By tapping network signal, it opens sound application.
By tapping sound, it opens battery application.
Anyone with this problem?
Regards,
Ricardo
i think it's a ROM error, not Manila.
Try another one or change the battery icon to watch(clock).
tab transitions
i have a problem with the animations being flat and not smooth like the tabs on previous versions, i have a touch dual also.
works fine on the wifes one
Thats a task launcher, once they appear bigger try clicking on them again

Hi!
On my old pda I had a symbolbar at the bottom of my home screen, like you can see on this picture http://www.itechnews.net/wp-content/uploads/2007/02/Windows-Mobile-6-Professional.jpg (the second last bar with the battery icon)
But on my new installed wm6 it is gone, how can I reinstall/activate it?
thx
