vbenchmark - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi All,
been reading about an app called vbenchmark to benchmark phone but cant find where to download or buy it (unless its free?)
can anyone point me in the right direction.
Thanks

75 views and nothing? someone must know
thanks

I would love to have just pulled the usual arrogant response: "Google is your friend." However, google does you no good when you misspell the search string.
I think you mean VSBenchmark. It's mostly a graphics benchmark and there's a thread referencing it here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293280

thankyou, i did google but had the name wrong, had seen it called vbenchmark in another thread which threw me.
Thanks

Don't give him the answer. In fact on this guy don't even tell him what to search for. If he is that piss ignorant and lazy that he won't google "google" than he shouldn't even have a phone or a computer for that matter. Not to mention he posted it in the wrong section, should have gone in General, but he posted it all.
The more we help dumbsh!&$ like this the more they think this is the phone directory where they call in and ask and we look it up and give it to them. This entire site is based on the idea of search, search, search, search, then ask in the appropriate thread, which you will find after you have done stepst 1-4. Then and only then if you have not found a thread already discussing the issue submit a new thread. But if it is not a devolopment issue post it in General Section.

When you have been on this forum for a couple of years and see all these pointless repeat threads, when you have developed some credibility in my eyes, I will let you have a baring on my moral compass.
I think he should be hanged for this
people who expect others to do their dirty work are just plain stupid.
even peeing is harder than finding google earth.

Your eliquent articulation of the "difficulty" to use search. I am agreeing with you.
that was a rhetorical question
Here is the latest release. Next time use Google to help you searching.
How hard can this be..?
oh come on! you really posted this for him? that just calls for more.
Im just trying to help. I agree with you that he needs to use the search.
But we are all humans, and something we are lazy. That's why i posted this for him.
omg
pick what matters most! life is to short
Google Earth or Google Maps?
because there is a difference. Google Earth does not exist on ppc. however one might think that it could be an update/ beta that might just work on ppc rather than pc.
This may very well have been a confusion caused by a program that has been missnamed.
Don't get pissed or get rude. you end up sounding like one of those mean stuckup geeks you make fun of in dumb movies.
We are all geeks (especialy having been here a long time) but it does not mean that we are "special" while others are "stupid"
People come here seeking answers to questions. sometimes they ask the wrong question. we should be nicer to those.

I am trying to get $100 for doing nothing. Can you also send that to me? I will PM you my paypal. Wait, I do not have paypal. Could you a do search, add me on paypal, send me the info and then transfer $100? 'Cause right now, I am being lazy.
Guy, you are still missing the point.
Anyway, there is google maps and google navigator which is closer to google earth as it can read KMZ files. Once is free, the other is free too, if you know where to find it.

Perfect!!!

battery icon

I swear I was reading a thread which mentioned a .cab to get a incremental battery icon, instead of the current one which tells you nothing about the true battery life left.
Yet I cant seem to find the thread.
Anyone point me in the direction of such a cab file?
Thanks

How dare you even dream of not using the search function( not withstanding it doesnt work very well as all vbulletin search functions don't), you should have your bottom summarily smacked. lol. The forum police are on the prowl again, idiots.

I did search prior to my post and came across the page you referenced. That site looks like it suckered an idiot (you) into believing that it has the actual real X10 ringtones on it. So how about putting a bit more thought into your post before trying to come across as pompous?
Why are people so "violent" this days?
A nice: "that's not from X10, thank you for trying..." will do more good and make others to answer you.
With reply like yours, you won't get what you want...

Sorry, I was offended by his lacklustre attempt at insult with the unjust 'Google Search Button Police' remark. Although I thought my response was moderately tame and certainly not violent as you suggest.
If anyone else could be more helpful that would be greatly appreciated.
Well, when i go home, i can try to see if i can find the sounds on my SD card.
If not, somewhere here, on the X10 forum is a link to a site with a system dump of the X10 which probably has the sounds included.
Try to search the forum maybe you can find it.

[Q] Resign App Inventor APKs

I don't know what this is.
You mean I should change the name of the apk to testsign.jar? Or is it something I should find somewhere?

Ok, so I just done a search for "testsign android" and the 1st link is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3175518&postcount=2

No. Helping would be saying "You do this "insert explanation". Just posting that is trolling. He might as well have posted "oil platform, platypus, beetle" it tells me nothing, and I have no idea what it is and searching for it is no help at all. As always if people don't want to help that's fine but they should shut up then.

That thread is about making a theme, I don't want to make a theme. I want to sign an apk (actually I want to change an ICON but someone says you have to sign the apk whatever that means).
(Also note first line: "you will need a working knowledge of android, adb,how to resign apk's" - I don't have that, I don't have that, I don't know how to do that!)
Anyway, unsubbing this thread.
Perhaps the problem was using "sign" in the subject.
I shall make a new post with a more newbish title.
@Kermode
You want to do something, but don't want to get knowledge on how to do that, because this is too much for you. Not everything could be explained in two words.
If it means reading hundreds of threads with hundreds of irrelevant and offtopic messages, yes then it is too much for me. If it meant reading a concise page with only relevant information, perhaps it wouldn't be too much.
And whilst two words are enough for nothing, everything can be reduced to a relatively short core meaning.
Ok, I think easiest way is to:
unzip apk file
find and replace an icon
remove META-INF dir
zip everything back and name it as *.apk
sign it: you could search for testsign tool or look here: http://d.android.com/guide/publishing/app-signing.html . Most important for you are "Obtain a suitable private key" and "Sign your application with your private key".

PEOPLE like you really piss me off on forums...you dont bother looking up information like you should, your very disrespectful, and from what ive seen your an all around! Sorry for my language MODS but someone has to say it. You should learn your spot and if you wanna learn how to resign then look as there are plenty of threads. You just want someone to give you everything and do it the easy way. Sometimes in order to do things you must do your homework which apparently you cant do.
For the way you acted to the other guy i would suggest that NO ONE help this guy and let him learn how to do it by himself Since he pretty much just said he isnt gunna look through threads he wants it handed to him(look at the post above)!
PEOPLE like you disgust me!
@OP:
Sufficient responses have been provided to an improperly titled thread.
XDA is about knowledge and experiences whilst using a particular device, application, or custom (tweak) work. As such, you will encounter numerous posts in threads that may provide less relevance than others within the same thread - it is your responsibility to "filter" past such posts ... this is no different than any other Forum you may frequent.
Additionally, there is an option in your profile to view up to 50 posts/screen page ... this greatly helps filter more content at once.

WinADB: A Frontend for “adb” Command for Google Android Mobile Phones

I have had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the creation of this app, but I follow this guy on Deviant Art, he is constantly coming up with useful things for windows, I had a look today and I found this and though people may find this useful:
WinADB: A Frontend for “adb” Command for Google Android Mobile Phones
This quote is taken from: HERE
If you have a Google Android mobile phone, you might be already knowing about "adb" command which is used to flash mobile phones, installing applications, copying files, etc.
This command is provided using a command-line and doesn't have any GUI.
Our friend "Solo-Dev" @ DA has created a frontend for this command so that you can take all advantages of "adb" command easily and quickly.
"WinADB" is a frontend for "adb" command used for Google Android mobile phones. All the required files you will need are included in the ZIP file. It also includes the required usb drivers for your PC.

I have attached the files below also.
Enjoy
Good find for users of this forum!
Droid Explorer from http://de.codeplex.com does exactly this and much more with GUI.
Thank you Mystic for the find ...
and thanks to memin for his suggestion as well.....some people appreciate it

i think you're exaggerating it a bit. memin respectfully shared what he knows. if anything, you did that with your comments about his contribution to the community. i saw on several occasions he helped people with providing feedback and instructions etc.
looks like somebody found something cool the 'adb app' then some one post a alternative app , then the op gets offended , ...to the op ...i understand what you are saying , but i dont think he really meant to show you up , and isee you do what i do ...look up people stats to see who your dealing with ..but dont be so harsh on the boy ..lol
calm down mobilebuddha thats not the way to do it , i promise ....let it go
Cookies anyone?

I have 300 (three hundred) posts helping people. Search my username for POSTS, not threads. You have no idea who you are blaming.
As always my intentions were helping out the community. Both apps do similar things and people may use whatever suits them best. The other app may have better functions and simplicity. In the end, the goal is to share our knowledge so everbody gets benefit. The response by the OP is VERY wrong.

I think that maybe if you wouldn't have used the caps, you may have come out a little less strong.
@Mystic,
I agree with Thatruth here, I don't think memin meant anything bad, just posted with emphasis that the post shouldn't have had in the first place. I edited his comment (removed the caps) and deleted your post so that this thread can get back on topic. Please guys, keep it that way... there is no reason to be fighting over something like this.
@memin,
While alternatives are always welcome, you nearly hijacked Mystic's thread here. Next time, if you need to share something, please do it in your own thread. You will not be flamed as long as you post in the right section
Now, guys... play nice.

This thinking seems to be common on XDA from what I can tell and it seems flawed. Lets say for example someone is searching for ADB interface apps or by name for either of these apps it would greatly be helpful to read this post and see there is a better option available and that the general opinion is one app may be better then the other. If we can't respond to a thread with facts or opinions you end up seriously crippling the information sharing ability and quality of information on this site.
Sorry to carry this on further in this thread but I really think this is something for you to consider changing your mind about and maybe others who have posted might feel the same way.
