I have recently upgraded my XDA II to the new O2 ROM with the Blackberry e-mail client software. While the Blackberry client shows up as a mailbox in the e-mail application and new message notifications appear on the Today screen, the Blackberry mail app does NOT show up in the sounds and notifications dialogue box. Thus you cannot set any kind of notification for when a new message arrives.
Does anyone know if its possible to add the Blackberry e-mail client to the sounds and notifications dialogue?
Many Thanks
Chris
Anyone?
There is another thread on here that covers this but I believe the general answer at the moment is NO.
Mine just goes "beep" or vibrates if I chose the vibrate option & I find that generally this is enough. It is really eerie sitting at your desk @ work, to hear a beep & know that an email is just about to hit your (work) screen!

I find this on this forum under Blue Angel
This may help I was looking for this for a Longggggggg time

I have been looking for a way to do this from day one over 3years ago.
I have tried it on my XDA2 and it works. 8)
It's wonderful very very very a big thank , it's OK on my SPV M1000 , i try on
my Qtek S100
perfect perfect.. works great
good job 8)
I didnt tried this trick yet.
But if it really works, Microsoft should feel ashame about that, because they never published such an important feature.

You just get a notification when your sms is delivered to the receipient...
HTH
Stefan
it sends you a confirmation SMS when your SMS has been consigned on receiver device (if he's out of coverage or with the device turned off you will not receiive the confirmation until the receiver is became reachable).
tested on Imate JAM, works perfectly.
imate jam already has this built in? check the options out when creating a new message it will have a tick box saying: Request message delivery notification
@gazzaman: yes, but you have to check it every time. This defaults it as checked.
ah cool cheers didnt know that
i wonder to know how to read SMS from SIM card?
anyone knows?

O2 Delivery reports
I don't get delivery reports with O2; I've read about a code that you need to enter before the message but is there any other way to activate it - who watched watchdog tonight o2 got a slatting :-(
O2 Sms delivery reports
To force an SMS delivery report on the O2 UK GSM network prefix the SMS message with *0# followed by the message. Example *0#Hello......
Incidentally, there are codes which can force an SMS message to screen, etc. but it is so long since I used them I have forgotten - anybody remember?
If you use that code to get a delivery report on O2 tho, if the receiever chooses to reply to your SMS, they will not be able to send the message. Not sure why this is, but I had this problem and after a little googling discovered that it's a problem with the way that O2 implements delivery reports!
Why oh why can't O2 just do it the standard way?!? Then we could just use the delivery report check box as well instead of having to type a code!!!
Hi Guys,
how to get rid of this anoing message in the corner down right after receiving a new email?
Did some research in the forum, but couldn't find a solution :-(
thanks
Sebastian
My psychic advisor is on vacation so I'm on my own trying to figure out what device you, have, what ROM you're running and what email client you're referring to...
All my PPC's indicate new email on the top menu bar. Any way that maybe you're speaking of Outlook on your PC?
With absolutely no background information from you I feel almost as lost as you ....

ah good point
I have a Wizard, that was the reason, why I posted in the Wizard forum...
RomVersion: 2.21.2.8 Ger (T-Mobile)
I'm using Outlook for Emails.
Everytime I get a new email, in the left down corner a litte message is popping up, saying, "New Messages" (In German: Hinweis: Neue Nachrichten) It only goes away by clicking on it.
how can I disable these messages?
hope it is clearer now
thanks
Sebastian
It's under Settings, Notifications, Incoming messages. Untick the display message.
Good Luck,
Matt
It's not as simple as that!
I disabled all notifications... and stil get this f****** notification.
Some more ideas around?
thanks
Sebastian
Most odd! I have never seen an email notification in the lower left of my PPC, it's alway in the upper task bar. We need to know what 3rd party proggy's you're possibly running because I don't believe that I've ever experienced anything like you're reporting in any of my adventures nor heard mention of such a thing here.
Something's amiss here I'm sure!

I think I know what he means. When a new email arrives, you get the little envelop symbol in the top bar and the left softkey changes to "message". If you press that softkey or the touchscreen there, the content op the message pops-up. I think he wants to get rid of the softkey changing to "message". I have no idea how to do that. Hmmm, do I sound helpful or what?
I created two screenshots... hope it is absolutly clear then...
And once again it is Outlook!
I must have been having a blond senior moment.... A picture is indeed worth a thousand words!
I'm afraid I don't have a clue, sorry.

Same problem here and it drives me crazy.

Email notification no matter what
Same problem here. If I turn (for example) notification sound on, the setting has an effect and there's a sound when new mail arrives. But if I turn the "Display message on screen" off, no effect, I still get the message.
Most annoying.
WWE 2.17.7.2 (Qtek 9100)
We have now the possibility of flashing light on the front of the HD2 (on the HD it was on the top of the device), but I am not able to set the light flashing for new sms or new email (it is greyed out). Although I would like to use it, kind of like the Blackberry ! Anybody knows how to set this ? Txs

Look at number 24
Mine already does this without the tweak. Very strange.
Lucky you ! But thanks for the quick turnaround, missed that one ... Although I had looked previously at that list !

JEALOUS.
Mine does for SMS but not emails... Is yours unlocked/sim free?
Working indeed, the options are not 'greyed out' anymore. Although the actual flashing is only working for my sms, not for my email ... Is this solution working for everybody ?

Wow. This won't be helpful. If the phone had the above, I would have this list:
1. How to disable the SMS send notification.
2. Smileys in sms (Emojii). (ok, keep this)
3. How can I stop the repeat message recieved with sound.
4. Disable preview of sms direct on the lock screen.
5. Disable unlock Sound
Good luck on your quest
Ehrm?
Make my wishes come true for HD2
I don't think the usb hole is big enough
Anyway, try the built-in search function of the forum, or google. It's all posible, so you'll find it.

You can already request delivery reports, just go to the HTC Messages app > Settings > Options.

Still no sent notification. However, the MMS sent notification works fine.
if you mean the delivery reports, they seem to be provider-dependent. for some they don't work because their provider doesn't support them

SMS notification works on my Diamond but not on my HD2 (same carrier). So I can rule out the "provider-dependent" notion. Oh well, it's not really a big problem.

No notification ie a reassuring beep to tell you its been sent and a exclamation beep if it doesn't leave the outbox (just like every single phone I've ever owned!!!)
successfully sent.....not successfully delivered!!!!!

sms notification. How have you done that?
Yesterday i wrote this to HTC:
Dear HTC, My Wishes for HD2:
1. SMS send notification (Sound and text).
2. Smileys in sms.
3. Repeat sounde when message recieved, but unread.
4. See sms and email direct on the lock screen.
5. Unlock Sound and vibrate when unlocking. 6. led blink with new email, sms etc.
They have written back to me:
It's possible that some of these things will be available in a newer upgrade, but it's not something I can guarentee.
If you have any questions, feel free to reply to this e-mail.
If you want, you kan write in Danish as I am Danish
So lets hope HTC make this
