Show us your Today screen

Well I have had my XDA Exec for a couple of months now but only just got around to using it more than a v.large mobile phone.
I need ideas on how to make my Today screen much nicer - I just got it to run in proper VGA mode but would like more functions on the main screen.

As this is my first XDA or indeed PDA Phone its intended for XDA Exec (+other random names given to this device). I dont even check/read those other forums

Noxis: Absolutely understood. I'm not telling you off, I'm in no position to, just saying that they have 14 pages of very good stuff there, so it's a good place to start unless you're using non QVGA themes, and even then, useful.
I appeal to moderators to have the Magician specific thread above moved to general, we all think it would be more useful there.

Figured I'd try a solid white background with black start menu and today text. Hmmmm not bad.

Klaxon vs G-Alarm

Those that have tried both programs; can you give me your opinion of which one has better functionality? I will receive my Diamond next week, and I am trying to decide on programs.
Which do you like best and why?

I had used Klaxon since its first version. I have never had problem with its functionality. I never liked the UI. The new Klaxon UI does not look bad, yet I was facing problems - too slow in some ways/screens.
I had tried G-Alarm and I had to stay with it. This alarm is just COOL. Never had any problem, and on top of all it is skin-able which I prefer. There are lot of settings too.
So I would myself recommend G-Alarm, but depends on everyone’s taste

G-Alarm no doubt though BEST SOLUTION for Diamond

I have a majority voting for Klaxon, but no supportive data for it. All replies have been for G-Alarm. Anyone have supportive arguments for Klaxon?

you can try them both and cut the drama. it wont kill u or yr diamond but will save precious space here...are u going to keep asking for best file manager, best theme, best backup utility, best media player....best..best...
don't u get it? each one has his opinion for his own reasons. you'll never get a definitive answer. get yr diamond and see it for yourself! that's the fun part!

My first post and I have to take issue with berating people for starting a 'What is the Best' thread.
Sure, the search function is indispensable and trying options out is part of the fun of experimentation and learning, but with so many clued up and experienced people on here, taking someone's valued opinion is also a good thing.
Why force the OP to spend hours installing and resetting or making the mistakes many of us have? Sure, he'll lose some experience, but having a Sen Member's 2 second opinion is surely going to help. It may even help other experienced people make a valued call. We can all learn................

Thanks for your USELESS post! I appreciate the opinions of other members. If you didn't want to provide an opinion, then just don't post and leave it to the others that will take a few seconds to reply. You wasted precious time with your useless reply and you could have been being useless somewhere else!

Because of this post I'm going to try G-alarm
There is nothing wrong with asking questions, when people post the answers it can help lots of people. This way there is more content to search through.
However trying stuff is the best way, but without threads like this people might not try.

Exactly. Never hear of G-Alarm until I saw this thread. So thanx for starting the thread. Downloading and will give it a try. Have tried Klaxon previously but it did not float my boat.

Klaxon. I love being able to turn off the alarm by just flipping the phone over - can't see that G-alarm has that function yet.

i gave you my opinion and i still think is good advice. no need to be rude even if u don't like it.
more ppl using klaxon doesn't mean that the g-alarm is less good, it just mean that more ppl use it. how many are using klaxon after trying g-alarm? what's sweet for one can be bitter for somebody else. try it for yourself. you'll never get a "clear cut" answer from a poll.
the only reason my post might be useless is because it was given to the wrong person. you want everything cut in pieces and chewed for you.

I was using Klaxon till now, but due to this thread I'll try also G-Alarm. What I dont see in G-Alarm (and Klaxon has it) is the Home Screen integration. After setting up an alarm in G-Alarm, the Home Screen still shows "Alarm Off". Also in S2U2, I don't see the upcoming alarm (of course, U2S2 is taking the info from Home Screen).
I don't care about having a load of ringtones played as my alarm, I usually have a single alarm tone that has the effect of waking me up...and that's all I need. Also I don't need a maze...the application is great, but it would be better (for me at least), if it'll have that integration

I dont understand what this thread is about. I hadnt heard about G-Alarm. But I tried it after reading this thread. As far I can say these 2 are 2 entirely differernt programs. Klaxon is an Alarm which utilises the G sensor but G Alarm is just an alarm like any other (I wonder what the G stands for). There is no option to stop or snooze the alarm by shaking or flipping the phone in G-Alarm. So, for its intended purpose, Klaxon remains the best

The program is well supported, looks great, and works like a charm at the latest update.
I love the vibrate feedback when you snoze.
Go for KLAXON.

c'mon man for goodness sake surely there is no harm in asking, besides it's a brilliant way of learning. I personally like the G-Alarm btw keep asking.

hahaha... imagine unlocking by this method when you want to do something fast (check what's the time, write a SMS message, check timetables, etc.)...
It would be like that:
Actual action - 1 minute
Unlocking - about three
And don't forget Diamond has no multitouch so you would have to do it with single finger. Have fun

I don't have any "bs" apps on my phone ( I have a touch Pro, if you bothered to check my signature). Maybe you do! I actually use every application on my phone for something.

What's with all the bashing in this thread? Everyone is a different user. Get over it!

I just find it funny that some user noobs (members and under) like myself try and stand up to NRGZ and Sergio whom both have published many apps which i currently have, and use on my phone. I side with them, they are spending their time programing way better programs for our abuse, not wasting their time for a trivial screen lock when theres a handful of locking applications out there.

Well, you know what:
Those "very superb developers" that love to do IMPORTANT things, can do so...
But I guess, either they have a lot of time to spend (and they have already finished whatever they've been working on) or lack the skills/knowledge/etc (whatever, I dunno, I'm not a programmer/developer), so that they can come and comment very non-creatively on something that they don't value. But, it would be better if they just didn't post their negative ideas... Those, really don't help. If someone doesn't want to spend his time on it, then he wouldn't. That includes posting comments only with nonsense/crap/BS... (It would be helpful to hear professional opinions on why that wouldn't work/be coded, though)
Short version: If you push that reply button with an undeniable urge to comment on something, wait on it, it will pass. If you have something to say, it would be more than welcome. That's my motto. (I'm saying this here, because I'm sick of all the negative approach I've seen on this site... Wow, enough for moon!)
And, I would love to see that kind of app on my Diamond too.
PS: iBoobs was the same. Every guy that
a) lacked the skills to code it
b) thought he knew all better than everyone
c) just thought/felt different
d) was pretending to be a very hard business-man
shunned it, declared it was nonsense...
Eventually, hdWobble was released, and it's by far one of the most exciting apps I'd have on my Diamond.

WOW, how did you do that??? That looks exactly like the iphone I never wanted!! OK, is it just me, or is this iphone themeing getting a little out of hand. I mean, I understand the whole themeing game and the creativity you can come up with, but seriously; there's like 30 different types of iphone themes and skins (i.e. Torx, ifonz, dwizzy, ishell, etc...). I mean if people like the iphone theme or skin that bad, just buy one!!

Tasks and 8 days of appointments on Home Tab

I made an easy modification on my Windows 6.5 Touch Flo 3d Manila Sense 2.1 T-Mobile version of HTC Touch Pro2 in order to have two lines of tasks (opening in SenseTasks Agenda) if no VoiceMail present as well as all the 5 lines of appointments filled with (if any) the appointmens on the next days (up to the 8th), instead of just today and tomorrow appointments, opening in standard Windows Agenda, as per original version.
I attach an image.
In my opinion HTC Touch Pro2 is a fantastic phone, so if people are still using it and are interested in this modification, just give some feedback here and I am willing to post, in my free-time, on Windows Mobile section of this forum, all the details of the modification.
If no one likes a dinosaur, there is no need to fill this beautiful forum with useless heavvy posts.
