New version of CorePlayer released please help - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo General

Seems like forever but the 1.2 err wait no the 1.2 "preview alpha tech release whatever" has been released. I tried to play a recompressed divx mythbusters from my SageTV but it just plays a frame every few seconds.. I messed with all the settings and sometimes CorePlayer would just close. Using some of the reports here I was able to play the test dog file, but never my divx. Anyone have any recommended settings?
Edit: Just for kicks I tried both files in TCMP that comes with the 3.0 rom and it plays them fine. So I suppose this issue is useless since TCMP works fine.

Same lag and stutters overhere. Any solutions out there allready?
Default mediaplayer suddenly stopped working on my TP2, though the quality was way better then the core player's. Too bad it doesn't work no more.
can anyone help with this after paying for core player it wont play anything with out stuttering along
everything used to lag for me in coreplayer, including videos but if i switch the audio settings to higher priority for mp3 files they play without a hitch. now if only i can find out how to do the same for videos
Add me to the list of VERY unsatisfied results with Coreplayer on the TP2... it absolutely SUCKS. BIG TIME. Laggy and crappy... how is a man suppose to watch all those great videos stuttering!
I had the same issue (laggy, ...) a couple of months ago. I sent an email to CorePlayer support and got this answer back :
"Hello,
This is a known issue and we are working with several people on trying to track it down and are hopeful to have it included with the next release. I can offer you a full refund if you would like.
Regards,
CoreCodec Support Group"
They expect to release the new version by the end of this month.
Just have to wait...
Hope it helps.
Are you using DirectShow? If not, try it.
Great on TP2
Coreplayer is running great on my TP2. Watched 2 movies today and the video looked great and frames were solid. Honestly its the best thing i did for my TP2 yet. I dont believe it will handle 800x480 but a little bit lower resolution should still be fine and the video scales very well. Check this review on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uONMuEeTo7A&feature=related
Watch near the end when he shows how Coreplayer runs.
REFUND!!!
So I just sent my refund request for Coreplayer. It has a bug with Tv-Out causing it to show a blue flicker. Also it has no real hardware support yet. The best thing I found was the Touch HD gui encoder program. It puts your videos into formats the built in players can use and those do have hardware support. So while coreplayer is a great app its not for the TP2.
Disable DirectDraw in TCPMP. Use GDI mode.
I am not sure if the following has any effect when DirectDraw is disabled, but this is the way I have it:
Select Options\Settings, then click on "Select page" and select DirectDraw.
You will see three options. Only select the one that says "use blitting instead of overlay"
This worked for me...

Movies Lag On HTC Touch HD....

I tried several movies on the htc and they are not smooth.
Some movies were taken from an old phone that was less powerful and was smooth but is jerky on the htc, why is this?
Yesterday a friend sent a simple video that came with his phone and plays flawlessly for him but for myself it was lagging.
Can anyone think why it's doing this and what I can do to solve the problem?
I tried avi'd, divx/xvid and even mp4 files, all lag. Even different resolutions, say 640x480 or 800x480, etc.
Any suggestions?
Try Core Player. Best player for the HD. If still laggy try another rom.

It was coreplayer, I have never had lagging before until now...
You suspect it being the rom? The rom I have is the Vanilla Rhodium by Kwbr...

Ask within Kwbr's thread to see if others are experiencing this. May be known issue with known solution
Certain versions of core player may work better so if you can get hold of a newer/older version it may help, or at the very least worth a try. After trying out the other available versions and other software options with no luck, I would look for a new rom (As long as you flashed the vanilla kwbr file properly and followed the instructions in their thread to the letter, but then I assumed you went through all these basic steps first anyways).

Yes, I did. It's a shame to change the rom because I'm happy with the rom in every other way.
It's fast and responsive, only slows down when playing any video's.
However, as a few of you mentioned, I will try a different, more later version of core player to see if it solves the problem.
If not, I may need a new rom...
If the worst comes to the worst, which rom/s would you suggest that is good for graphical/video performance which is what I'm looking for...
encode your movies in h.264 baseline level 3 with AAC audio, in the mp4 container. HTC Album/Windows Media Player will then use the hardware decoder to play the videos.

That's possible, but I really wanted a player that plays divx/xvid which is what I want.
I tried 2 versions of TCMP but both give me an error when trying to open, so their no good.
I guess I will try a different version of coreplayer.
Problem solved, changed my rom...

whats the big deal about TCPMP???

I have tried using TCPMP on multiple occasions but every time I try to watch a movie, it stutters and jitters. I've changed the settings to match the HTC video player (GDI) but it still is not near as smooth as the HTC player. Now this wouldn't matter except for the fact HTC never gave us an option to turn the video around so the volume button is on top. Any suggestions?
*edit* Guess I should state what I'm running. I currently have NRG's GTX 5/04 ROM. It came with the current version of TCPMP.
First, this version of TCPMP is very old. It was back when the project was opensource and free. Unless someone is actively updating the project (possible, since I haven't checked in two years), the codecs are probably out of date.
The new version is commercial and retailed for around $29.99 (US) the last time I bought it, called CorePlayer.
That being said, I've played the Transformers movies that came on our cards without any issues with the commercial version with no problems. I haven't tried it with TCPMP, and I don't even have it installed with my current ROM.
I'm not suggesting you go out and buy CorePlayer, since you obviously have the WMP and it works just fine.
I can say that I've done some testing with CorePlayer a bit. I downloaded videos straight from YouTube in flv format and they played beautifully with it. I also tried with WMP, but they wouldn't even open.

[Q] MP4 Playback on Vegacomb 1.7

Hi, I've got some Mp4 video's i've been playing back quite happily on Custom ROM R8 and have today put Vegacomb 1.7 on and these files do not playback. The only way i can get them to play back was to load Moboplayer and use software decode.
Anyone got any ideas or is this a bug in Vegacomb? Tried to post it in the Vegacomb forum but couldn't.
Cheers.
On custom R8 you played them with default media player?
Did you download Moboplayer codecs?
Hi, yeah sorry, on R8 I used the default player. On Beta 1.7 the default player just gives "Fail to load" message.
Even in Moboplayer just selecting the movie gives the message "this file cannot be played by the system player, please long press it, and select soft decoding mode to play it"
As far as codecs go not sure which on i need for the Vega? can anyone advise?
Thanks
I use Vplayer with 2.2 and 2.3. maybe he will run with 3.0
http://de.androlib.com/android.application.abitno-vplayer-qzzzE.aspx
So I ended up going back to MoDaCo R8 and all is well. All movies play with no need for an additional player. I did however load Moboplayer and it plays all files using hardware decode (which did not work on Vegacomb.
Thanks for the replies.
I have the same problem. I don't like to go back, I like the VegaComb. Isn't there anone who can tell how to solve this problem?

Nexus 7 Movie Players w/ Subs

Hi, i've just ran into a bit of a problem. I was planning to watch Avatar (1080p) (.mkv format it is in) on my Nexus 7 to see how well it would cope. I started using mxplayer but it had no sound, dice player would play the movie so i then use BSplayer FREE and it worked. Job done. Until i found that i forgot to enable subtitles for the na'vi speech so i could understand. In BSplayer Free when i press in the top right, then select subtitle, then select active subtitle it doesnt find any, but when i use my computer there are 3 subtitle tracks within the video. I've also tried putting the .srt file in the same place, called the same as the movie, but it still wont find it.
Any ideas?

Moboplayer is laggy and doesnt play the sound. Wont use hardware decoding, attempts to use software decoding and sucks. Bad.
Vplayer Terrible lag.
QQ player Terrible lag.
It seems that only MXplayer and BSplayer play it fine, but MXplayer has no sound. Oh, forgot to mention that Mobo player found the 3 subtitle sets fine so it has to be the apps >.>
did you try SW decoding for MX?
Also, the full version of DICE player was made free last week. There is an option to manually select your sub file.

Dice player (yes i got the full one) says "sorry, this video cannot be played"
In MXplayer i get the 2 S/W options S/W and S/W fast. Both laggy and no sound. Going to try another method of coding the subtitles to the film.

MX player works beautifully for me.. no lag at all
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda app-developers app
MX works perfectly for me, just remember to keep it set to S/W mode and not S/W(Fast mode).
hmm. That sucks. I haven't run into the AC3/Tegra issue yet as SW mode has been able to handle my files, but I've only tested 720p stuff for MKV. 1080 MP4 was fine.
I'll check if I have any 1080p MKVs later tonight. I have a feeling most if not all my 1080 stuff is mp4 though. I really try and avoid MKV since it's a PITA for 360/PS3 and i've never gotten those "on the fly" converting media servers to work. Curse you MKV!

11gb of download son, glad my internet recently got buffed for free though!
At the minute using mkvmerge and Avidemux to see if either will hardcore them into the video itself properly and not softcode.
I spent almost 45minutes today getting the subtitles to match up with my copy of the film. Really frustrating getting that to work properly.

you should use custom plugin and libffmpeg.so on sdcard.
it may be a DTS issues.

Fixed it, by default subtitles are disabled in BSplayer, for whatever reason that is, and then it worked :/ I had to spend ages altering the timing of subtitles though as the subtitles werent the ones for the copy i had Works fine now.
