No Bluetooth Headset When Docked In Car Mount - Mogul, XV6800 General

I'm running the leaked Sprint ROM with GPS and Rev A. I wanted to mount the phone in the car while I drive so that I can have easier access to it while on the road.
I recently purchased an i.Trek car mount / cradle for my Sprint Mogul. It has an external speaker which works great. However, when I try to make/take a call with my Bluetooth headset while the phone is docked in the cradle, sound comes out of my earpiece momentarily and then switches back to the external speaker. Also, the caller cannot hear me... it seems that my Bluetooth ear piece becomes disabled / ignored.
The cradle does have a strange port on the right side labeled "Audio In," but it is not the standard mini-jack that microphones might use. It looks like a 4mm DC-In connector. I'm wondering if the cradle is some how overriding other audio-in/out functions when the phone is docked. (The evidence suggests this, anyway)
Does anyone know of a workaround for this? I'm looking for Registry hacks, software tricks, hardware hacks... anything suggestions.
Thanks.

Arkon CM55 Powered PDA Cradle and XDAII

I have just had this product delivered and it seems to work fine until I make or receieve a call on it. There is terrible feedback from the speaker and no matter how high or low I have the volume on the cradle or the XDAII the feedback from the speaker remains.
On the Expansys website it states that it is compatible with the XDA and in the leaflet that comes with the Arkon CM55 Powered PDA Cradle it states that:
--
"Important notes:
A special adapter is included for the pocket PC Phone...
When you speak your voice will be transfered through the microphone on the device. The persons voice on the other end of the phone will come through the speaker build into the back of the PDA mount cradle."
--
So there is even a special adapter included so I can use it with the XDAII??
The above passage leads me to believe that I should be able to use it to make calls but with the mobile so close to the speaker it is impossible? Has anyone else used this product to make calls? Any tips on how to get it to work?
Thanks
I have the same problem, I dont think the speaker was designed for a phone application, it works great with a pda. The only solution I found when using it to navigate was to switch of the radio/phone but that kind of defeats the object. I am looking for a filter solution or maybe using another speaker that is screened from the rf interference.
I purchased the "special adapter" only from Arkon, and used it to plug the I-mate into my car's auxiliary stereo input.
The volume on the i-mate is at FULL.
It works absolutely perfectly. The sound for MP3's is perfect, and the phone calls sounds crysal clear. (the microphone remains enabled on the I-mate, while the sound is transferred through the stere system).
You can use a Tape deck adapter if you do not have an AUX-input on your stereo.
Ken.
Unfortunately I have cd player without aux input. I have bought an xda car kit now so the Arkon is going to be redundant.

KJam Microphone switches off when connected to car stereo

Hi,
I have connected my KJam to my car stereo via a cable from the 2.5mm jack to the aux port of my car stereo. Tom Tom voice and phone calls are routed through my car stereo. Sometimes, the microphone will not work when I take a call. I can hear the caller perfectly but they can't hear me. Other times, the phone functionality works perfectly and we can both hear each other great.
If anyone can suggest any ideas, I would be very grateful.
Thanks
if your using a jack to connect it to your car, then its will prob. stop the mic working as its routing the audio to you car in the same way the headset with mic that you got with the k-jam does. I had this problem on mine, but due to the fact that i use a bluetooth neadset in the car fixed that little problem 8)
That's the end of my k-jam desires then.
I use my MDA compact in the same way you describe, for TomTom, Hands free calling and to play my music through.... and my microphone works fine with the headphone jack in.
I guess one thing to check would be the number of rings on your 2.5mm jack. If you have 3 then theres a possibility the k-jam thinks you have a mic on the end of the wire. If you have 2 rings (normal stereo headphones) then there must be another issue somewhere.
thanks for your replies. My concern was around the fact that sometimes the microphone works and sometimes not. I wonder if there is a workaround or a specific type of cable that I need to ensure that only the audio is routed and not the mic as well.
Thanks for all your help.l
never tried this myself, so i can only assume it would work. you could hack a cheap wired headset up, removing the earpieces but leaving the microphone. then add a stereo 3.5 plug so you can hook it up to your car stereo.
SpeedN
I have that very problem also, it's gotten that annoying that i've stopped using it through my stereo. you are able to get around it by popping the cable out of the kjam, then putting it back in.
pain in the ass though none the less.
What is the phone is set to Speakerphone ?
Even though Speakerphone is currently not working...
Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone has had any success in fixing this problem? I am having the same issue. I have a 2 ring 2.5-3.5mm adapter connected (so it should only be routing the audio, not the mic) and sometimes the caller can hear me, sometimes not. At one stage I found by unplugging the cable, setting to speakerphone, then unsetting speakerphone and plugging the cable back in would get it to work, but not anymore...
Any ideas?!?! I love my XDAII mini but this is driving me up the wall!
Cheers,

xda car phone holder

i just bought the following car phone holder:
http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php?xProd=241&xSec=76
but no one can hear me when it is connected in the car. it will work if i pick up the phone and select speakphone and then put it back on the car mount...
is there something i should be doing like profiles??
thank you
This Car holder disables the microphone in your wizard. The only possibility to use handsfree mode without modifying the holder is to use a bluetooth headset/handsfree.
Not in...
There is no possibility with the built-in software to switch on the speaker phone. But there is a cool software called Phone Alarm available on www.pocketmax.net which has the possibility of switching to various profiles one of the options being switching the speakerphone when a call comes automatically, you can set it in one of the 7 profile possbilities. This software does many other things too. Try it out. Worth every penny, covers many short comings that exist in WM 5.
@kull
There is no sense in profile switching when the microphone doesn't work in the holder.
Even with the workaround (take out, switch on speakerphone, put back in) the microphone won't work that well, because it is fully covered by the holder.
So, there are two options:
1. Buy a bluetooth handsfree/headset
or
2. Modify the holder: Put in a 4 pin 2.5mm stereo connector with a microphone attached. Requires some soldering and handycrafts skills.
cutting edge approach to handsfree in the car
-i took a piece of velcro and put one part on the dashboard next to the steering wheel, the other on the back of the wizard, just so it covers the battery cover. now i can just put in up on the dashboard. holds great and is only about $2 of investment.
-the other thing. get a converter plug at radioshack from 2.8mm to the smaller one used on the wizard. get a $10 cassette adapter. put the wizard on the velcro, put the cable from the adapter into the plug, the plug in the wizard. TATA music and phone calls (!) via your car stereo. ppl i called said that they could hear me well, i can hear them in surround )

Reroute Sound to Speaker with a headset plug plugged in

It seems I can not find a way to route the sound to the internal speaker when a (headset)plug is connected to the phone. I would like to use the phone for conf calls with a docking station as well as for charging as listening to music. For the conf calls I need the internall speaker to work but it seems this is not possible when connected to a docking station with a sound plug.
Rerouting software like this one does not work with a plug plugged in.
teksoftco.com > AudioRoute 1.2.020
Does anyone know of a way to make this work? I was alrady amazed that this was not available in S2P or Windows mediaplayer before but now it is really annoying for calls. This basic functionality was already on 4 year old Sony Ericsson phones.
Many thanks
Update: I tried the rerouting with a bluetooth headset and it does not work. I am unable to reroute a call that is answered in a headset back to the phone
Has anyone actually gotten this yet? Ive got an HTC Apache I really need this done to, the back speaker went out i need to see if i can make it ring from the earpiece.

Microphone stops working when headset connected

Has anyone experienced the following bug: Make or receive a call using a bluetooth headset. A2DP or not, this doesn't matter. Then, use the voice command feature or try to record with Tape Machine, while your headset or car kit is still conencted. The microphone won't activate. This is quite aggravating if I try to use the voice dial or map finding capabilities while in the car... anyone else experience this?
i have the same problem when my phone is plugged into the aux in my car. the mic just stops working :/
I can verify this issue. I most want to be able to use this feature while in the car and using hands free, but I can't.

It's annoying - my EVO didn't do this before I returned it.
I ordered a few inline microphone adapters for $2 each on ebay with free shipping - they're the things that allow you to use any pair of headphones with a cell phone as a headset. That should solve that problem, but it'd be nice to be able to use the phone mic when it's connected to my car stereo, as a speakerphone.
I guess the way Samsung saw it if you plug in a headset with a microphone(like the one included with your phone) you would then have 2 working microphones and get an echo. We all know this ends up being a problem in scenario #2 where you plug it into the AUX port on your car, but I guess Samsung did not consider that the most likely usage.
The best solution would be to have a software toggle to pick if the microphone is turned off or not.
This topic is basically the same thing, might want to continue the discussion there. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7986072
I wonder if, on the Epic, this is a hardware thing we're stuck with or if there truly is a software fix.
If the hardware wasn't built to detect when there is/isn't a microphone by checking out the connector, we may be SOL.
While I'm sure the rationale may be the same, please note that this thread, though similar to the 3.5mm headset thread, specifically references bluetooth. The issue happens even if the headset is paired - independently of whether or not it is in use. That's the problem.
just unpair bluetooth when you want to use the speech. only work around so far.
