Flashing wihout battery
I was in a similar situation. My flash had gone wrong on T8282 aka Blackstone & battery got discharged. I did the following :
- Removed the battery.
- Connected the phone to USB port using a Y cable (the one which u usuallly get with hard disks)
- Got USB connection on bootloader screen. Flashed the new rom using RUU. After flashing 100%, the phone switched off on reset as there was no battery.
- Replaced the battery & put the mobile on charger.
Phone started on power on
Guys,
This happened as I woke up this morning. Saw my phone showing the screen of battery charging when being switched off and looping back in the same. The phone won't restart. Tried flashing JVB from download mode but the moment phone is switched off. The same battery charging screen shows up and the phone doesn't boot up. Kindly provide some expertise on the same. Thanks in advance.
Just Checked: It'll boot up when connected to a charger but otherwise it wouldn't boot up. All this is on JVB haven't tried going cyanogen yet.
So can you or can you not enter download mode?
try remove battery and wait 5 min.,than try again
The only way my defy+ boots is if i keep it plugged in with the wall charger besides that it wont boot with the battery itself or even from pc via usb cable, The battery stays at a stand still on either 4% or 99% or sometimes 100% but as soon as i unplug the wall charger it shuts off completely and doesn't boot back up. This is all started when i flashed quarx's cm10 jb 4.1.2, at first the rom was pretty fast and battery drain was not too bad but then after a couple of hours use while on that rom battery died and wouldn't charge back up. So i thought maybe it was the rom, so i went and flashed slim bean 2.8.1 it ran good but battery was still not charging and it could not boot up by itself. I've tried countless things like wiping battery stats before i flash any rom(except i didn't do this for quarx's cm10 jb 4.1.2 the first time i flashed it), leaving it to charge all night and installed a few other roms just to see if it works, but no changes.
PLEASE HELP!!
Battery icon "?"
I have the same problem with my defy+. I charged my battery with an external charger and then the phone worked as normal again. But I have a "?" in the battery icon. After I made a battery calibration the battery icon changed to 100%. But the value never decreased. It was 100% until the phone died again and I had to charge the battery externally again. After that the "?" was back.
It all started after the battery got empty after a new rom installation. Possibly when the bootloader was locked and I left the phonen loading...
I also need help with this issue!
Hopefully this works also for you

My problems were solved after I flashed a motorola stock rom, rooted it, sndinit it and reistalled the custom rom again. Now my battery is loading 100%, it has always only loaded to 83% (or so) on custom roms before! Its working better than ever! Check this out:

By the way, I run MIUI.
Hi guys, i just wanted to ask if i can get a Battery charging ui for my zenfone, like when you plugged in a usb cable when the phone is off.. a battery with refilling animation will pop up, ive recently installed a custom rom(Resurrection Remix ) to it. but when my phone is drained out. i cant charge it because it keeps on turning on even if its drained out, it just loops in the boot animation then powers off again, i can charge the phone unless ill boot it into fastboot mode. If anyhow, what is the file am i looking for? and where could it be found in the main root folder of my phone? Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks in advanced

DEAR,if your phone does not charging after 0% reached and u cant go to your recovery mode for your low battery just open your mobile cabinet with screw driver .. And take out the battery give a little hot or else put the battery for 10 min then connect to mobile shocket

Hey Guys,
My phone gets stuck in a bootloop if I don't use a charger while turning it on. Actually, doesn't even get past the splash screen and reboots every 1 to 2 seconds. I also need to connect it to the charger to access TWRP. Normally, when I disconnect the charger after the phone has turned on, the phone suddenly turns off. But when I do the same when I'm in TWRP, nothing happens and I can continue using it without any problems. I'll put the logs if you neeed. And yes, I don't need the charger to get into fastboot mode. I'm currently on lineage 15.1 unofficial but the problem persists over other roms too. Please help...
Change the battery
It's the battery , which is under performing with the voltage needed to run the rom process,
That's why you are able to use with charger and got bootloop without charger. In twrp or any recovery mode most of the hardware is disabled and does not need much power.
Telling you with personal experiences
