Ever since flashing my sprint mogul with the 2.40 bootloader, radio 3.27, and dcd 2.2.6 I've been having problems accessing activesync & the usb connection in the bootloader. Ive tried toggling the advanced connections thing under the settings tab, but that hasnt helped. I feel its caused by either olipro or my usb port somehow hosed right after flashing. It seems to be that the port died, but it just seems so suspicious right after flashing. I have tried 4 computers and each have problems recognizing the usb device. It detects, but cannot assign drivers to it and ends up calling it an unknown device.
Also, do you guys have any issues when hitting the reset button? More often than not, when i reset my mogul will enter the tricolor bootloader screen eventhough i did not touch the power+camera button. I also havent found a reliable way to exit the bootloader other than hitting the reset button until it randomly resets back into loading my dcd firmware.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's unnerving nott being able to use activesync or even flash my bootloader back into stock. please help!
I still havent had the activesync issues fixed enenthough i read the thread about using the cab that changes your mobile from using generic rnds to usb serial mode. I would rather know how to stop the erratic olipro behavior. If i hit the reset button on my phone right now, it will likely reset into the bootloader. I dont need to hold the pwr and camera buttons. To get out, it seems i need to have a power cable plugged in and then keep hitting reset until it randomly deceides to boot into the dcd firmware. Ive never seen such bizarre behavior that i can reproduce so cosistently. Any ideas? Please help me, its getting very frustrating. :-(

This is a youtube video showing what I am experiencing.
I am running olipro 2.40
radio 3.27.00
dcd 2.2.6 which is based off the leacked 3.16 firmware
Basically its a video of me entering the bootloader when i hit the reset button and then me trying to exit the bootloader by hitting the reset button until my mogul randomly restarts into the dcd firmware.
Also, this might belong under the titan upgrading section. If so, could a mod move this thread please?
I've had similar problems but they started when I did the upgrade to the leaked 6.0 + GPS ROM from HTC. Later I installed Olipro and it didn't change anything
i had something close to this. But mine also had charging issue.Turns out the 6800 inherited the same usb issues as the 6700.My pins weren't making contact always.I actually had my unit replaced cause of this.I thought it was a wm6.1 issue as well.but it wasn't.
@ aph
I did install the leaked stock 6.1 right before, but i didnt have issues until dcd 2.2.4. i upgraded to 2.2.6 through the sd card. maybe if we flash back to the non-leaked firmware and upgrade again? Maybe the leaked firmware overwrote someinfo that the latest firmwares dont touch upon?
would you guys mind helping me downgrade my mogul back to stock? just a set of guidelines would be nice. i dont wannt to accidentily flash something in the wrong order and hose my install.

If I have overlooked the thread that covered this situation, please just point me to it as I have made several searches and read several threads but no luck.
I was happily running a custom 2003 ROM with the original AT&T stack. As I was quite happy with the way my 2003 OS was configured and operating, I decided to just try the NEW AT&T radio stack as I wanted to see if it helped with some reception issues I have expereinced. I copied the four radio stack files to the Windows directory on the PPC. I had the PPC in its cradle for power. I then executed the RSUupgrade and at 10% it locked down completely. No hard key had any effect and in fact, not even the soft boot buttom worked. I then attempted a cold reboot and that resulted in a hung machine again.
So, I decided to take the safe route and do an SD flash burn back to the original AT&T ROM (which I had copied way back when). Using XDA Tools I burned it to my SD card. Did the soft/on button routine, and proceeded to flash the memory. If indicated that the checksum matched and was finished. After the cold reboot, I got the old splash screen, but it took forever for the today screen to appear and the START button as well as ALL the indicators at the TOP are missing. I am unable to get to file manager.
I then decided to see if I could connect via ActiveSync. I uninstalled AS3.7. and reinstalled the original 3.5. When I attempt to connect, AS does see that the PPC has been docked, but it is never able to connect.
So, I am unable to reinstall a radio stack of any kind. I am unable to get the OS to function normally.
BTW, Just for grins I also tried an SD card install of the newest AT&T ROM as well as my custom ROM and the results are all the same. I suspect the now corrupted radio stack, but HOW do I purge it and start over when I can't get the OS to boot sufficiently to reinstall the stack
ANY IDEA? HELP!!!
Come on, someone has to have an idea
I will start off with an update. After reading another thread, someone mentioned that initial boot was taking about 15 minutes when there was NO radio stack. I decided to see if that might be occurring to me and sure enough, after about 15 minutes, the PPC beeped and the OS came up. If was still a bit sluggish, but operational. I was able to successfully attach to my PC via ActiveSync.
Now for the downside. Still NO success with installing the radio stack. I have tried reflashing the OS back to the original AT&T PPC2002 OS but that made no difference. I have tried both the original radio stack and the new one, no difference. I have tried to install the stack with the SIM card (SIM not SD) in and out, no difference. It always sticks at 1%, tells me the upgrade failed and to press ok to reboot. I did read the thread that gave LOTS of help regarding this issue, but nothing seems to help. I can remove the lnk in the startup folder, delete the files, reboot, recopy via ActiveSync, start the upgrade (RSUpgrade.exe) and everytime it immediately goes to 1%, sets there a minute or so, the pops up the failure message.
Surely, someone has an idea. Could a corrupt SIM cause this? Is there a alternate way of installing the radio stack?
BTW, just for grins, I thought I would try doing a "normal" exe upgrade since AT&T posted such. I know that it is full of risk, but at this point, I had little to loose. I made sure that I was running ActiveSync 3.7.1 and was connected. I then launched the upgrade. It came up with a splash screen with some warnings and the typical stuff. I then selected the "next" button and nothing happened except that cursor (when pointing in the window) went into the "working" state where it remained until I finally killed it about 30 minutes later. There was NEVER any sign that progress was being made.
HELP!!!
david
I have the same exact problem.
The Start menu is missing. No Icons on the top bar.
What's funny is that the screen seems to be inverted.
When I tap close to the bottom of the screen, the clock setting screen appears.
Anybody have a solution?
I suspect there is an alignment problem
When I first boot up after ROM upgrade, I can get to the today screen with the volume button, but I can't get to the file explorer because the start menu is missing.
When I tap on the lower part of the screen, the upper part responds.
Could this be due to the alignment steps being bypassed?
What order do you have to tap the alignment crosshairs during startup?
This sounds like a different problem
As I mentioned, on my first reflash of the OS after the radio stack upgrade failure, I got the today screen without the start bar at the top (ie it was totally blank and tapping in that area did nothing). Everything else on the today page worked. On subsequent reflashes of the OS, the today page was totally normal, start button, everything in place and working. On those subsequent reflashes, I also got the normal initial screen alignment pages on the first boot after the reflash.
I will also post, that I finally gave up on getting the radio stack to install. I have sent my unit to the guys at PPCTechs. In talking to them, they have 2 other SX-56 units in for upgrades with the same radio stack issue. They feel that they will be able to force the reflash via alternate means using a serial cable. As I mentioned on the other thread where I have been posting, I will post back once I hear if they were successful.

in general people should not mess with radiostacks unless they have issues and the radiostack is recommended by the phonecompany one use
Hi all,
Since last friday I'm the happy owner of an S200, until sunday atleast. After a soft-reset, initiated from windows, my device won't boot anymore. It hangs in the red-green-blue bootloader screen (says: IPL 2.09, SPL 2.09). I've tried soft-resets and hard-resets, but the device would consequently keep hanging in the bootloader.
So for the past few days I've been searching the web and just managed to update the ROM. I was expecting that updating the ROM succesfully would mean my device would boot again, but it still keeps hanging in the bootloader (saying IPL 2.09 SPL 2.15 now, so the update did take place).
Does anyone has any idea whats wrong with my phone? Or how to fix this? Please help.
* bump *
I've been searching further and tried to do a SD dump, but I'm getting the message I don't got enough rights to perform a SD dump. This meens my S200 isn't CID unlocked. Is there any way to CID unlock the device without the need of booting into WM?
The solution to your problem
Hello, if you are having bootloader screen right after starting your mobile (prophet) check if your camera button is depressed since i had the similar problem. In my case i had to disassembly the phone in order to fix it. Right after fixing the button it worked fine
hi syzzer,
i really feel with you - why? - i have the exactly same problem. after i tried to upgrade my rom from o2-germany to another one the device isn't starting anymore and hangs in the beautiful-colored bootloader. and now, if i just even want to re-install the same or another rom, doesnt matter which one, the s200 wont start again. i think this is a really unlucky situation for us to stand alone with our weak pda =) hoping for more help, otherwise we have to take up our warranty and try to get it fixed by the store we did buy it (if a rom-update damage is still in warranty )
good luck

hello Syzzer
I have the same problem, but i make a soft reset and it works.

You Get the message : For Hard reset press send
If you choose other key the system boots normaly.
I had already tried all your suggestions, but nothing seemed to work.
About a month ago I bought a Trinity. In the mean while, I forgot I had put my S200 in my bag and carried it around for a month. When I found it a week ago and started pressing random buttons, it suddenly booted and has been working ever since! The problem has gone as mysterious as it came. I can only imagine there was some hardware failure / dirt in my device that caused the trouble and is now gone / moved to some place it does not do harm. Because I already bought a Trinity, I gave the S200 to my brother. He's been using it ever since and did not have any problems. So keep your head up, there's hope!
I m also having the same problem
Now I am having the same problem, no button is pressed, and I can not install the NVID ROM
Actually I can install only a few ROMs, the NVID ROM was working before on my Neo perfectly but, I think it can be because I have changed many ROMs, from a month, actually I have tried different WM6 ROMs and I used NVID ROMs mostly for Step 1.
Now when I install any ROM, it shows a msg some nbf one after 80% or 95%
It can install the pdaviet first step ROM, but now the problem is that it hangs very much and it can not start Wifi, it has stopped working, a few more ROMs i have tried, but the WIFI is completely stopped.
When I press it in communication manager, it will show busy icon for a few seconds and will not start it in end.(I tried it in both WM5 and WM6, same problem, I also tried after soft reset and hard reset, the problem is still there)
Please someone help me out.
After (I think) successfully upgrading to WM6, I've had a few problems...
1) I can't seem to soft reset anymore (holding down Power at the top + the reset button)...it seems the only way I can now reset my unit is by physically removing the battery...
2) I can't access the bootloader SERIAL mode...I can access the options for the kernel hive and formatting storage, but no success being able to get into USB mode to reflash my unit
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated - I only bought this phone on Friday
1. This was hard reset in WM2003 - for soft reset just press the reset button
2. You need to press and hold power+reset+record(WMP) buttons at the same time
I suggest you read WIKI first before asking questions which are answered a million times
Thank you for the prompt reply.
I can understand your frustration with many people constantly asking these questions, but please don't make me feel like an idiot when I've actually read the Wiki and tried Googling the problem prior to posting.
To clarify, I know *how* to access the SERIAL option (I had to do it to upgrade from 2003 to WM6 to begin with). My point is that holding Reset+Power+Record doesn't work anymore. It just continues the boot process and goes straight to the Windows Mobile splash screen. The reset button, in and of itself, does nothing at all. I've tried everything from just tapping it a few times to pressing and holding it for upwards of 30 seconds...but it doesn't seem to do anything for me.
Try to hold and press power+record+cam buttons then press reset while holding those buttons.
Yeah, it does nothing...I have a feeling that the actual reset button is no longer working on the unit...not sure if that's to do with the upgrade to WM6, or if it's a hardware problem and just happens to be coincidence :-/
don't take xplode's advise wrongly. it's just that reading AND understanding the WIKI is important especially for beginners like yourself.
if you think you've successfully upgraded to WM6, it's probably because of the "Congratulations" message that was displayed... well, you're almost there, though not quite.
try to fully understand the no/yes/yes instruction in the WIKI... the reset+power+record combination is NOT what you should be doing. it has been replaced by another... here's the thread that could guide you... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=327978&highlight=kitl
and here's the pertinent wiki page...
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel_WM6_WizzardUpgrade4
good luck and welcome to the BA community.
Anyway if this that you try to explain is that the hardware buttons no longer work, you can try the MTTY method, if you have read the wiki you already know what exactly to do
Thanks raymonds, I will try not to, but I just don't want people thinking I'm yet another new member that doesn't read anything before posting, because I know how much I hate that too...I tried reading up on my problems for 4 hours last night before deciding to post because I couldn't find anything else to help.
I have successfully upgraded to WM6 and went through the no/yes/yes steps - the issue is that I want to go back to WM2003 or WM5...they seemed far less problematic for my phone for some reason..one problem I'm facing now is that my BA, pure and simple, no longer recognizes that I have a cellular carrier at all, making it essentially useless as a phone. When I try to go into SIM Manager, it hangs for a while, then goes into the screen saying that only emergency calls can be made...but when I try to put in my PIN, it says "Unknown SIM error", though the SIM works fine in my other phone...
I'm trying to use the Power/Reset/Record to either try reflashing in the hopes that'll resolve my issues, or downgrade...either way, it's not allowing me to do so, and I obviously can't do this while the phone is booted into WM6. It just seems like the reset button is no longer working, since neither combination that uses it (Power+Reset or Power+Camera+Reset) works anymore.
try to downgrade with MAUpgradeUT_NOID.exe, and then reupgrade, another thing you can do is to reflash the radio rom. The MTTY method resets bootloader settings which may be the solution to your problem.
MTTY under Windows XP is explained HERE
xplode, mtty requires one to do the power+reset+record combination, which he currently cannot do.
is this a second-hand unit?
Hm, there was another way to put your device into bootloader mode but i have never tryed it, in most of the WM2003 upgrades there was EnterBL.exe, and when you copy it to the device and execute it the device goes to bootloader mode...
but it also creates problems - read here
Also i had problems in the past with the latest version of MTTY (1.45) and used previous one 1.01 which worked like a charm
Sweet - thanks xplode and raymonds for your time.
Unfortunately I can't try these as I am at work right now, but I do appreciate the suggestions and will try them as soon as I get home.
If I can't get it to work, oh well - off to the service depot and a (probably) expensive lesson learned.
Please keep us updated, about your issue
Thanks guys...
So, I'm taking it that the radio stack is now corrupt, since it's no longer even showing a version number on my BA. I tried the methods xplode suggested - when I enter the unit into KITL mode, I take it I'm supposed to use USB Active as the transport method, since MTTY won't recognize a device otherwise, and my phone just boots into Windows from that point.
When I try to run MTTY though, all it does is display "kITLÂȘ" over and over again...I'm not sure if that's normal, or even how to enter a prompt of some kind...
I'm starting to wonder if maybe I should just take it to the depot, pay the $75 I was quoted, and learn my lesson... :-/
Any other suggestions, or am I just totally doing what you suggested wrong?
You do not need to enter KITL because this is used to debug your WM build using Platform builder
Just try to put your device to botloader mode and then use MTTY to instruct the bootloader what to do, or just reflash radio and then new rom
Hey every one, this is driving me crazy I'm sick of how slow my wing is that i just got a couple days ago. so... from what i've read on here touch-it and changing the page-pool size should do the trick.
i downloaded the touch-it 2.3 rom along with the t-mobile RUU.
unfortunately evrytime i try to install the touch-it rom it initiates and says its moving the files, well i let it sit here and do its thing for a 1/2 hour.....No changes, no update, so i hard reset it, and it was bricked.
ssooo i fixed it and tryed again about 3 more times, same result every time.
what am I doing wrong???
I followed the guide on here to a T.
I'm thinking that maybe it has something to do with me running windows vista professional?
idk, but please any suggestions are helpful.
1. install arerg_policies.com
2. power cycle phone
3. connect with activesync
4. turn airplane mode on
5. run upgrade_rom.bat
6. dont touch device under any circumstance!
7. when it says "congratulations", hard reset and you're done
if it fails flash the srock rom and try again
How old is your pc?

This is a very old process. Please hold down your camera button and press the soft reset button. Then flash your phone with the stock RUU. Then find a newer ROM to flash with. (Something like the ROMs in my signature, Ttran's OpenTouch or itje's newer TouchIT's.) They flash in a completely different way. Unless you have an SPL/IPL of 1.xx.xxxx then you're stuck flashing this way, in which case, you probably forgot to place your phone into flight mode before starting to upgrade it.
Hi, had a problem flashing my bro in law's Titan.
I unlocked the titan with the titan unlocker by Olipro and flashed with the round 4 reloaded (loaded) rom (dcd 3.2.6)
unlocked fine, installed the rom to 100% rebooted phone and its stuck on the Bell screen. (its after the HTC screen and after the screen that shows versions, which it does show D. version 3.2.6) any ideas how to get it to where i can flash it again?
Does it have a compatible v3.x radio installed as well? I recommend 3.42.40 personally, but just about any v3.x radio will work.

Ok, solved the problem by pressing the power button, camera button and reset button all at the same time. This of course enabled the bootloader on the phone. installed another rom which gave me the same result, stuck at carrier screen. This is of course because i didnt know i had to upgrade the radio first. Got the phone running again by updating the rom with the one at the HTC website for my carrier.
Now i'm trying to update the radio. there isnt alot of instruction out there, but i did find this http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Radio only upgrade instructions Although after following the instructions, the universal rom upgrade tool never connects to my phone. I tried the vista fix here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=313001 But being that its over 2 years old, i'm guessing its now useless as when i try to update with the files there my OS says my drivers are more current and wont allow me to install them.
So now i'm stuck at the "how to upgrade my titan's radio" stage. Anyone have better instructions? (or can tell me what i'm doing wrong?
what i've done
downloaded radio version 3.42.40 as BTC suggested
downloaded "universalRUU" and extracted it to its own folder
copied the radio's file "TITAIMG.nbh" into the UniversalRUU folder
reset my phone into the bootloader screen
ran the ROMUpgradeUt.exe from the UniversalRUU folder
pressed "next"
it says "checking information on your device" and hangs there forever.
if i press update anyway, it continues to the last screen where i can press "finish" and thats it. nothing happens. which part am i missing? the phone is DEFINATLY connected to windows at that point, so it should be able to detect it, but it doesnt seem like it even tries as there is no system pausing or stuttering like it might be trying to do something.
thanks for the help so far.
Solved the problem on my own, as well as the other couple problems i ran into.
Updated the Titan WIKI to reflect my solutions and clarify some key points.
