Are the wm6 roms on here suitable for an original orbit or just for the new one with 400 processor? Does the touchflo stuff slow it down at all?

Thanks for the advice. I realised after posting that these roms are for orbit 1 and bit the bullet. Just for fun I loaded the touch rom, but will probably end up using vanilla. Good thing is my spl is changed permanently so I can use any rom.

But unfortunately for some new people getting into this new world of WMobile even what it looks simple to you might be slightly blurred to us.

Of course the WM came in French. Well I am willing to change it to WWEnglish and I've been doing my homework researching and reading, reading, reading through this website. Found the steps to do it thanks to Kleinemeus at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=290241 and found the DOPODAU and LOVE ROMS as well the Extended Rom in the ftp site. As well as I found my P3300 is the same as MDA compact III, XDA Orbit, P800W, Dopod P800 ....
But I still a couple of silly doubts that I gonna ask for you MASTERS your mercy to clarify me with your wisdoom and expertise.
1) After flashing my P3300 with a English ROM will it have all same basic features/programs I have in French like, the radio, tomtom gps, etc ? In other words, doing this is like getting a desktop that came with windows in french and installing a windows in english ?
2) After being successful of flashing the Rom following the steps described in the link above by Kleinmeus how can I upgrade the Extended Rom found at the ftp ?
I really appreciate if someone could help me with these 2 questions.

Be careful when flashing becos many ppl cant get it right.
If you manage to flash it successfully you should have almost the same functionality.
I dnt know abt the ROM.
Is ur phone CID unlocked?If not do it before u change the ROMS.It will be a big disaster if u get stuck in between and u cant do anything.
Yups, you'll have all the basic apps that are part of WM5.
Regarding TomTom or other Commercial GPS applications, these are not part of WM5 package and are installed by supplier, so you'll have to confirm whether the ROM that you are planning to flash has that specific GPS app.
Regardinf Extended ROM, these come as part of ROM that you will plan to flash. Usually people only take some specific apps/patches from other Extended ROM that wasn't part of supplied/flashed ROM (i guess I am right about this)
Hi all, new to O2 orbit. I used to have a O2 exec which was very easy to flash to WM6, but reading all the post how different is it to flash Orbit. I see alot of bricked phone here. I don't want to do the same!

On the contrary it is actually quite simple IF you follow the instructions carefully,majority of bricked devices happen because of the owners not following the proedure AND not reading ( Forum threads and WIKI) enough.

I use Bepe's WWE WM6, not like I do a whole lot of processor intensive tasks on my 200MHz pocket phone, but WM6 does seem to have a clean, smooth feel compared to WM5. I recommend the upgrade, but do A LOT of reading if you want to keep your phone. Honestly, unless you are after a language change or some pressing need for s ROM specifically besides the OEM - you might be better off waiting for an official release. o2 UK, and HTC are supposedly soon to release WM6 for orbit. read up on USPL, thats a good start, then go from there.

If your Orbit is originally in German. The risk is much less, there is a shiped German ROM, so you can flash it back if something goes wrong.
If your Orbit originally in a language other than German: Be very careful, and remember to flash USPL before doing any update.

I'm new to this forum, Yesterday i went out and brought the O2 Orbit 2. Do you lot recommend that i flash the ROM to the latest on this forum or is that a big No No?
It just seems that reading all the threads on here there's a lot of improvement and customization to this model.

As long as you follow the guidelines on the bulletin board flashing is a painless process so try some of the different ROMs if they look like they offer you features you want/need.
I tend to use the 'Black and Blue' ROMs on my Orbits but am still 'playing' with ROMs on my Orbit 2

Flashed with bepe's rom, I must say great ROM. But after trying out udK 8.0 R1 Vega. i know get a message with "No Sim"

I think there is no way to flash other ROM into this unit.....

At the moment I tried: Bepe .67, one of PDAViet, udK Vega and Diamond.
I had no particular problem with all of them. I think the choice is a personal affair, like buying some cloth

thank you a lot for this fantastic websit. Sorry for my English - I am Czech. I hope, that you will understand me. In past I had a HTC vox, but few weeks ago I´ve bought a CRUISE. Everything was Ok, but I wanted to made a upgrade from WM 6,0 to 6,1. I corectly unlocked my cruise and I tried to upgrade to new (unoficial ROM).
I tried this:

Upgrading was ok, but after upgrading I have no signal on my PHONE ???
My next step was: I made a upgrade to oficial HTC WM 6,1 from HTC website.
With original WM 6,1 is everything Ok, but I would like to have beter ROM, than original HTC.
At all treads here, you are writing about RADIO? What is it? Is it a driver, which is included in every ROMs and this driver is for PHONE RADIO control?
Is it possible to upgrade only "RADIO" ??? I dont understand a lot this section. When I was upgrading my VOX, there were no problem with this. Every drivers was included in ROM - notning problem.

After searching for the last few days iv finally got my orbit up and running.
Now i need a new OS for my Orbit.
The last OS I put on bricked my phone after a day or so. So I need some advice on what the best cooked OS is out at the moment.
I like the new wme 6.5 so who has the best
