Keyboard remap - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hi!
Is there way to remap keyboard? I'm currently using finnish (scandinavian?) keyboard, having pageup&pagedown (in up/down arrows) replaced with Å and O-like thing. I never need them so I'd like to have original functions (pageup/down) instead of them. Is it possible?
Or other way around, how hard is to produce ä and ö with english keymap?
And, thanks for this great forum&wiki! :]

change keys on keyboard?

Does anybody knows if it posible to change the assinment of the keys on the keyboard?
I would like to change the Windows Startbutton into CTRL, So i can easy use CTRL C and CTRL V.
Do i have to change the keybddr.dll for it?
Not to be a "me 2"er, but I am looking to swap the comma and period. They're on the same key, but I have to use the "Option" button (round dot) to get a comma. Well, when I'm option-locked and typing numbers, I use the period a lot more than when I'm typing letters. I'd like to see a way to simply swap those two functions on that key.

scandinavian letters (ä,ö) with MDA Vario?

I just bought a MDA Vario from the UK so I'm having a hard time typing scandinavian letters with the keyboard, could someone please tell me how I could remap the keys to get letters ä and ö or is there already a program that can give me these letters? To clarify, I can type them using the Sym key but I have to press the Sym so many times it slows my typing too much. Thanks!
-John
Help? How can I remap the ä and ö keys?
Moi,
there's file sym.txt that you can edit to get öä's faster, transfer it to your pc with ActiveSync, edit with notepad or similar and transfer back to your phone. That's it. My 1st line of that file for example looks like this:
aäàáâåąãăæ
I think you'll find the sym.txt from "Windows"-folder of your phone.
There's also Scandinavian softkeyboard CAB available but I don't know what that really does, you can find it from this forum.
What to edit?
What is it i shal edit to get this to work?
i want my danish keyboard to work as well.

[Q] Where is the international layout on the ASUS on-screen keyboard?

As a resident of Norway I'd like to have a Norwegian layout on the on-screen keyboard. The standard Android keyboard has it, but the ASUS keyboard doesn't. The Norwegian dictionary in the ASUS keyboard is quite good - but its useless without our local characters æøå (which is missing in the layout). The Android on-screen keyboard seems to be missing the Norwegian dictionary (it only get hits from the contact list!).
Does anyone know how to get anything else that the US layout on the ASUS on-screen keyboard? And does anyone know what happened to the Norwegian dictionary on the Android on-screen keyboard?
No idea on the dictionary, but for the norwegian letters, I imagine its similat to the swedish version. Press the a/o and hold it for a bit, and you will get options, including swedish/norwegian letters.
The same is for true for ASUS Finnish keyboard - no direct umlauts and long pressing a/o is a subpar solution.
I use Swedish Android keyboard when typing on-screen and switch to ASUS Finnish keyboard when using Scandinavian keyboard dock, because the keyboard dock is not functioning properly when stock Android keyboard is selected as the input type (pressing "ä" on keyboard equals ";" in produced text).
Bit inconvenient, glad that it is quite quick to change the input type.

[Q] Non-English keyboard layout

Not yet gotten my A501 (hopefully tomorrow), but started wondering: is there a way to use non-english layout on stock keyboard, or if not, which keyboard from market would you recommend? As here in Finland we have all these weird characters... Ä, Ö and Å. If too many keypresses are needed to get them, taking notes is going to be pain

Click to collapse
The normal keyboard doesn't have Finnish, but there's Swedish. The space bar says Svenska, that's the only difference to a Finnish layout. So no need to download anything.
