I bought a HTC cruise in italy and want to change the ROM
I have no previous experience.
Will I damage the phone?
Is it possible
Thank You
It's apparently very possible, but you'll have to wait a bit longer, and the great chefs in this website kitchen will cook up a cordon bleu ROM.

Before you can change the ROM, you need to install Hard SPL to your device first to avoid bricking it. Just Follow the instruction from

As reyjabs has already suggested you should first use olipro's hard spl and then u might want to try

Hi.. I am using a Dopod D810, and was looking through the HTC Member's Club on their website for system update when I chanced upon an rom update for HTC P3600.
To my knowledge, D810 and P3600 are actually the same. So my question is, is it safe to use the rom update? There is another older rom update that is for D810 in the site. But if I am to update the rom, I might as well go for the latest one.
Anyone can help me on this?
yes they are the same. but rom update always has risks. make sure you have hardspl installed before updating any rom

If you get a polaris and want to flash the HTC WWE rom you would need to use olipro's hard-spl first.
I received today my TC with an English version of WM6. Cause I ordered a Dutch version of WM6, I called HTC with the question if it is possible to use a Dutch WM6 ROM. They told me that this is not possible, because the motherboard does not support the Dutch characters and also I lose the warranty.
Is there somone familiar changing the englisch ROM with the Dutch ROM?
Just flash it to youre phone no worry it will work beleive me.
First HardSPL youre device and after that use the dutch ROM. Someone has uploaded an Full and Light version and the Original version of the rom.
But make sure youre device is HardSPL otherwise you can brick youre phone.
Or return the phone and get a dutch version as you ordered.
But as said in the post above, flashing to another rom will have no effect on your motherboard. They just say that to scare you.
Thanx, I just download the original TC Dutch version of WM6. Can I download somewhere, in case of warranty, the original Englisch version of the TC ROM?
I have now the CE OS 5.2.1623 (Build 18129.0.4.5) ROM version 1.25.4051 WWE
You can Backup youre Original Rom somewhere on youre PC just search and look how you can do that.

I allready contact the supplier, but I opened the box thats why I can't returned the TC. I also have to wait several weeks again, so I thought to simple change the ROM language to save time.

Thanks NikMel.
In the XDA-Wiki of the HTC Artemis (P3300) there is a list of available original shipped ROM Versions. Maybe it is posible to create this list for the Touch Cruise too.
Hi, this is my very first post here, in the best site/forum on the internet about PDA.
Here's my doubt: I have an Artemis With WM 6.0 in Portuguese. I want to take my risks in the world of cooked roms and i want to try the artemis touch 4.02, wich it is in english. As I read, we just have to run the USPL and than flash with any rom. Am I right?
Second question is: I have a portuguese rom or at least an extended rom. My question is: I flash my artemis with the english artemis touch 4.02 rom, supose that I don't like it or something else and want to return to my portuguese rom I can use the extended portuguese rom that I have?
Something like this:
1.Original Portuguese Rom
2.Flash with the english artemis touch 4.02
3.Get back to portuguese with extended portuguese rom that I have.
Can I do this 3 steps if I wish so? And if I do all those 3 steps will I loose my warranty?
Congratulations for the amazing comunity...

Don't forget to remove any passwords before you flash the new rom. And it is essential that you flash USPL before you flash a new rom. I made the following order, to success:
1-SIM unlock (definitive)
2-Temporary CID unlock through USPL (CID locks again after next step)
3-Flash a new rom. In my case, I'm using Oops Black v1.
Regarding the other questions, as far as I know, once you flash a new rom, you loose the old one.
And at last but not least, if you mess with it, you can always tell them you did nothing to it. I just don't know if they will believe you.

Thanks for the quick answer and yes, I know I will loose the rom inside the pda, but I have a file with about 51Mb downloaded from the htc website named: "HTC_P3300_PTG_3.13.410.1_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship_R".
I just don't know if it is a rom or an extended rom, in fact I don't even know the real diferences beteween this 2 concepts...
My question is after I flash with "artemis touch 4.02", can I run USPL again and flash back to this rom? (supposely my original one)

Sure. you can allways get back to your original ROM (if you didn't had any problem in the midle of the process). Sometimes when you have problems with the flashing process, that will be you only chance.
The file that you've download is a ROM where you have the OS.
The extended ROM normally is only for add-ons.
Cheers
Hello!
The ROMs which are here posted, are all english?
Is there a way to get ROM which are in german, so i have an german GUI?
Just to say thanks to all on this forum. This, because of my very first rom flashing. And guess what? It went very well. No problems at all!!!!
All because of the amazing people that is here everyday trying to make the pda's world more simple for everyone.
By the way, congratulations to the "cooker" of Artemis Touch 4.02. It is a wonderfull rom, with everything that i use to install as third party software and many more and all this with a lot of ram free. It is very stable, fast and very good looking!

Hello All;
I'm new here and i have bought htc hd2 in French language from Orange France locked. and i have some questions;
1. If i do a hard spl and after try to istall a cooked rom or any original rom of another language like Italian for example, can i do? is possible? or maybe i will have difficulties with orange? because you remember it is locked.
2. If it is possible, doing this the phone can be free or unlocked? or there is any other procedure to unlock it? maybe to upgrade radio?
3. the last question; if a day i want to turn back to the original orange france rom can i backup it? and how?
thank you all. i'm new with this and don't want to brick it so i make this question to the specialists
Most of your questions can be answered <<HERE>> in this thread. Start by reading first post before posting...
Read <<HERE>> as well.
I can confirm that HardSPL installs and works on a HTC HD2 bought from Orange.
I flashed the radio to the latest (2.06) and I use a ROM based on 28014 (6.5.3, I think) but using SoftSPL.
I will reflash to a newer ROM this week, this time using HardSPL.
Did that procedure resulted in unlocked HD2?
Can you use SIM card from other networks/providers?

HD2 from french (Orange)
Hi everybody,
I bought my HTC HD2 few weeks ago from Orange in France. I am quite new in the field and don't know a lot of thing about ROM flashing. I have a naive question. I have a plan with ATT but with this HD2, I am not able to use ATT 3G only the EDGE. I read that it is normal. I just wondering if I flash into a new ROM this could modify somthing and let me use the ATT 3G network ?
Thank you very much to read me.

Thanks for the above link...I have just downloaded it and zone alarm is quarantining sspl_ruu.exe as a trojan....is it possible to use one of the many other ruu.exe from other cooked roms with this one, or is this just zone alarm being over sensitive?
