Prophet for Navigation System (only)

Hi,
I want to use my Prophet as Navigation system only (no GSM, no programs, no multimedia). The Propher connects with to an external GPS-Receiver via Bluetooth. Navigation Software is I-Go. I have used it many times with good results.
In order to make the software work faster (smoother) and to use as little as possible battery power i want to have a fast, clean, and stable rom installed.
Which of all those roms out there is appropriate? I guess the memory pool is very important here? Are there any ready-made Roms suitable for this task or should i cook a new one? Which rom should be the base one? I guess i should look for a WM5-rom? Or is WM6 faster?
Thanks in advance!
XDA Neo G4. Cid locked.
OK, I see I asked to many questions at the same time
So I'll try to summarize:
Is it worth to change the Qtek_NVID WM5 ROM from "Step 1" in order to gain more free memory/speed...
...or everything, not necessary for the operation system to function, is already"stripped away"?
Thanks!

athena software

Hi, When i first got my ameo/athena when i put they keyboard on it it would show a small amount of detail in the clear bit. could anyone tell me what this software is. thanks tim
That is referred to as the "Sub Pannel" there is an app that provides that in the factory roms and many of the cooked roms. It can be enabled in cooked roms via the control pannel applet in settings system "Sub Pannel" and is usually enabled by default in factory rom versions (I am not sure if it is available as an installable component if it is missing from any cooked roms
Cheers

Custom ROMs on AVD

Hi,
Is there a way of getting custom ROMs on the the AVD?
I see that its partially possible using the ROM from HTC (as shown here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4232807&postcount=9), but I want to create my own using builds from http://developer.htc.com/index.html or some of the ROMs provided here.
This will help me try and develop come code as currently the Android SDK's are missing parts like the Maps applications etc.
Thanks.
Not to worry, found it finally!
Its on this topic:

[Q] HSDPA settings for cooking custom ROM

In want my rom to start with HSDPA disabled.
I can disable it in the settings, but therev seems to be no registry value, that can be set in a custom rom to disable it by default.
Does anyone know, what to do for a custom rom, to get this feature?
I use a B7610 with a custom WM6.5 Rom based on JE2 Build.
Thx

[Q] how to recook a cooked rom? Maybe its a stupid question...

Is it possible to take a cooked rom (Energy, Mozart etc. a.e. for htc topaz), load in a kitchen, remove apps that don't work, themes and so on and export as a new custom rom? Is there a specific kitchen to do that?
I'm a newbie with a legacy device (HTC Topaz) and see that the roms with updated packages and kernel are made by chefs that do not have the device for testing so there are a few bugs and old apps that have to be removed but these chefs are mass cookers, they have there lives and don't have time to stand behing theyr dishes, especially for those that differ from theyr native language.
My intentio was to load a Energy Rom in Italian with cht, remove all themes, unworking and useless apps (or to solve some bugs) etc.
Thanks
sb
This has been asked a billion times; you can dump a cooked rom with micro-kitchen, and re-cook it somewhat. You'll need to figure out how to set the kitchen up for your device, if you decide to use it. Da_G says that the kitchen will re-base modules without the reloc sections; others disagree-I've never done it myself. If you're just removing stuff, the kitchen should work fine, but you'll have to know what to remove. Someone will post shortly and say that you can't re-cook cooked roms. It isn't true. Gsleon3 has re-cooked roms, I guess mostly to lighten them up. Here's one of his threads.
