hi
i have a big problem, and i'm searching for a program...
i have a vodafone d2 sms-volume-package, 250 sms free per month, but i can't see how many sms i've send, because only the normal messages are displayed in the entrance so i can't see how many real sms i've send.
now i want:
an today plugin tool, where i can fill in the number of sms free for the month, and then the programm subtracs the number of sms from the 1. of each month so that i now how many sms left for me ?!
looks like this:
Free SMS: 250 - Send: 43 - Left: 207
please help me..

tag,
i would do this, i have experience in c# but somehow i cant setup a phone application, and i only get my xda mini tomorrow, so
if someone can tell me how to create mobile applications with the visual c# express (the free one) edition, help me out and i will do some applications
Try this
Try this Today Plugin (am using it on my O2 mini)
If you dont like it, can uninstall too
@Rockviech
You can't develop progs with the express edition because it does'nt have the required compact framework in it. You need the standard edition.
Hi,
i do need such a tool for my pocket pc WM 5 as well but the above tool freezes device. Even i cant setup or change anything in the tool for volume sms account (e.g. amount of SMS).
Is there any other useable tool out which is worth to buy or maybe free?
TIA,
Falk
Hi,
Check out phoneAlarm - it has SMS count and also allows setting Monthly free SMS in the billing options.
Are there any other SMS counters that will work with O2? DK doesn't, as O2 doesnt allow delivery reports. And Phonealarm slows down my phone too much.
Cheers
Hey guys,
Just been browsing around the net lately and see that you can send free text messages from certain web sites and now i hear ICQ. BUT, I was wondering if anyone here had written a program that will actually use the GPRS connection from our Data Plan to send out text messages? I know its a long shot, but i think it could work.
Reason : When you goto these sites . . (Ex. txtdrop.com; smseverywhere.com; etc) they allow you to send free text messages to almost any wireless carrier, some even just have you put in United States and then the number and it finds it for you. So i was thinking . . . Why not make a program that will do the same thing using those web-sites or something and instead of putting your name in where it says "you name" you just have it put in your wireless number so they can respond. SO, ur only getting charged for recieving txt messages.
I thought this up because i am with cingular myself here is the USA, and their plans is either 4.99 for 200 messages sent and recieved, or 19.99 for 3,000 sent and recieved!!! I already pay 39.99 for my F***IN unlimited data plan, WHY NOT USE IT!!!! If anyone can think of a way to get this to work, that would be AMAZING!!
I've heard there are programs that use ICQ to send and recieve free texts to phones but i haven't found anything for Windows Mobile. If someone knows of a way, or can think of an easy fix, please feel free to let me know ASAP!
i too iam trying to find this
iam on a company free data plan and had a bb 7290 that allowed me to send txt via gprs, i have an email account setup that allows me to send txt message via it on-line eg phonenumber @ sms.domain.co.uk this works online and can txt for free, ive setup a new email account that points to the ingoing outgoing address on my pda and currnetly testing this if you have any more info let me know please.
Does anyone know of a desktop app. which will allow me to access my phone's SMS functions and send SMS directly from my desktop through my phone?
Regards
Thunderer
Try the PocketSMS
Thanks - i'll give it a try!
pocketsms doesn't work for some.. you can try Jeyo Mobile as well.
as far as i heard sending sms from the internet have become possible / easy once more so that would be a cheaper path in general
well.. you can use ICQ to SMS for free.. works in most countries and if my brain doesn't mislead me you can a decent amount of free sms's to start with. also if you receive an SMS to ICQ you get 8 more sms's to send.. quite a dispenser.
To All Developers and Programers,
I have looked at many SMS programs but have not found one that can send SMS messages completely free.
When I want to send a SMS for free I, since I live in Canada I goto the Rogers website and input the phone number and my message and it get sent for free. Obviously you need a data plan for this (Got the $30.00/6gb Plan).
My question is...
Is it possible to make an app that lets you do all this by channeling it through the Rogers website? By doing this SMS will be free?
I am not sure If i am explaining it correctly but just an idea.
Thanks
It is certainly possible. The sms will be free (except for data charges of course).
I guess you need to login to the Rogers website for this service? Is there a web form where you can enter your credentials + destination + message to send an sms, like most voip providers? (I'd guess not, since it's free).
Anyway, you can always try to find out the login procedure and write a php script that emulates that, then write a program for the ppc that sends your data to that php script...
You can just send your sms as an email and it would be free. the email would be their [email protected]. problem is that you need to know their provider and the providers sms domain.

You can send free SMS by using AOL Instant Messenger for mobile or you could also go to www.textem.net to send free SMS
AIM for Windows Mobile Beta1/Beta2
Download it here

Send an email?
Its not quite free but you get 2p texts (im from england) but i think its an international thing: fishtext http://www.fishtext.com/
you install a java app and send them from in there, the reciever gets the text message from your number (rather than the text service's number) so friends can just click reply.
it's easy to top up your online credit, just send a normal text from your phone to fish text and it takes £5 off your credit and puts £5 in your online credit.
