I wanted to add a ring tone but can't because audio manager locks everything up. Error reporting says audio manager.exe has a problem. just after this shows, everything locks up and I have to soft reset to get my Herald functional again. Is the executable corrupted?? I've even taken out my 4GB storage to see if that was the problem and it wasn't it.
Does anyone know if the HTC has it on the startup disk??
If not, is there a cab file??
Any help is appreciated.

Hi,
My HP 6915, when i make a soft-reset doesn´t ring and does not assume the changes, for it to ring.
i can´t resolve with hard reset because it still the same.
did anyone had the same problem?
thanks
did you recently plug in the headset? If so try plugging it it in again and take it out slowly (sometimes the contact has been known to get stuck)
Did you install TOmTOm on it, there is a known issue with sound after installing this app. This is what solved it for me:
I have found a solution to the issue with TomTom 6. When it installs, it overwrites two dlls in the PPCs Windows directory, BtCoreIf.dll and BtSdkCE30.dll. Immediately after TT6 install rename each of these to .old, or delete each file. Windows automatically re-installs the originals. Do a soft reset and all then works ok.

Hello! i am reviving this thread, because i also have a sable 6915 and recently after a day of normal operation the phone stopped giving sound. The only thing different was that i had the CPU overclocked to a safe setting on "pocket hack master: 520 mhz".
I tried hard reseting with no luck... I don't think that it has to do with hardware, but you just never know...
anyone else with the same problem, that found a solution?
Hi! Yesterday i got audo manager error and after that i can t use audio manager. Every time i press play or next song the error shows up and action stops. Before this error i didn t install any new programms. Hard reset doesn t help.

Not sure if this is relevant, but I used to get this error when I had the old crappy ROM that Orange supplied. It always happened if I loaded on some music (not programs) where the artist name was the same as the album name e.g. Santogold by Santogold. Sounds crazy I know - but I couldn't proceed until I removed the offending album. Are you on the original ROM that came with your phone? Did you add any music files recently?
thanks
yes that error came up after i loaded new songs and yes i am on original rom. hope your advise will help... thanks
Hi, I installed the Onyx build of windows mobile 6.5 on my Elf and so far it works fine. But after I deleted some songs on my storage card the HTC audio manager closes after startup. For one second I can see the user interface and then it closes without any error message :-(
Has anyone an idea where I can check for an error message or how I can fix this? I already tried to remove the HTC Audio Manager Settings in the AppData folder. The folder is recreated with all files, but the error is still there.
Thanks!
Hi
First there's a whole thread for Onyx http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426540 where you can search for answers. I just took this from the faq:
Q. Audio Manager shuts down whenever I try to open it.
A. Delete the songs or format the card and copy the songs back.
Q. Audio Manager or other program shuts down instead of minimizing when I close it.
A. Click on the Task Manager on top right, go to its options to change the X button property.
Good luck
Thanks, formatting the storage card an recopy the music again solved the problem. I think there were some corrupted metadata responsible for this. Even if I metioned it, i didn't expect this to be an Onyx thing, so thank you very much for the hint to the FAQ!
Problem solved!
Hi!
When an alarm starts I always get a "Can't play emergency sound file: %path\galarm.wma" error.
On G-Alarm's forum I read that it is a wmp problem, but they don't have a solution for it. [I can play galarm.wma in WMP]
I tried to install G-Alarm on main memory, storage card, but nothing seems to work. Today I reinstalled Tomal v8.5 and the first application I installed was G-Alarm, and still getting this error. Is it possible to somehow reinstall WMP?
Any suggestions?
Just make folder /Application Data/Volatile/
I'm in same situation.
But I just make a folder "/Application Data/Volatile/".
I can't see any error message.
Try my solution.
