Yes.
use a file browser and go to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs and create a folder called games (it will probably already exist) the copy the shortcuts from Programs to Games.

Hi, I would like to know how to move application to folders created in programs. Thanks
using total commander, go to /windows/start menu/programs
in there you can create new folders, add /move shortcuts and so forth
the read-only attributes need to be changed first for the standard proggies before you can move them
You also can create folders in "Office Mobile".
I have in \windows\start menu\ the following folders and sub-folders with various apps:
Office mobile
------Finance
------Games
------Multimedia
------Navi+Comms
------Office
------Reference
------System
Programs
------PI Utils
------Utilities
------SBSH Utils
------Tool box
For the standard programs I think you actually need to change the registry and not just the read-only status. Search here in the forum as this has been covered somewhere - I have seen it but don't have the link.

I have a similar grouping and nope, attributes will do it fine
BTW, I can recommend Quickmenu for a regular winXP style startmenu (check the wiki for the link) with cascading folers

Thanks - I stand corrected. I had read elsewhere that the registry needs changing. Thinking about that now, I think this referred to the Office Mobile folder.
How abt the those applications install and create in the program page. I wish to move them to a existing folder, like I've pocket UNO installed on the program page but I wish to move it to the game folder that already exist there.

Just cut and paste the file into the games folder - should move with no problem.

Read post number 2
Thanks alot
I read in this topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638
that you can enable some hidden games, and I really like those games but I can't seem to enable them! can anyone get me on the right track?
You need to give more of a clue as to what part you are finding difficult!
If you go to file explorer you should be able to browse to the windows directory on your device and then copy the games you are after using a long insert on the screen.
Navigate to the startmenu folder and then long insert on the screen and select paste as shortcut and all shoul be well.
Hope this helps.

You should have asked in that thread. Its a case of browsing to the .exe in the windows folder. Long press on it then copy. Go to \windows\start menu\programs\games. long press in blank spave and paste shortcut.
read the hints and tips thread. The very first tip tells you how to get them showing in the games folder
mmmm i was just about to say a similar thing...
To ask in the other thread didn't seem appropriate for some reason...
ah, sorry, I see it now.
1 more question though... I found the files, and I made quick links to them, somewhere easily reachable in the finder. how can I get my phone to see those files in the games-directory? to put it another way: when I hit the 'games' button in the start-menu, I want to see those 2 games too... any pointers?
copy the quick links into
Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Games
and there you go
you need to use a program like resco file manager or total commander and change the file properties to unhide them, so they will appear in the games folder, otherwise they will be in the folder but hidden.
installed whack a monty on my hd. not only did the game fail to work but it seems to have removed my games file
anyone know how i can get it back?
NEW PROBLEM

Explain what you mean by losing 'games file' i.e. the directory were the shortcut to your games is located or something else?
Using your file explorer go to /windows/start menu/programs. You should have a folder called games in this which has the shortcuts to your games in it. If you may need to create one and copy/move shortcuts into it again
Also, did you try uninstalling game?
hi i have now found it, it was usually available when i go to programs mut its on the start list now
you can just make a shortcut to the exe file
and place it in \windows\start bar\programs
i cant find it to put it in the start menu
to the top
1. Enable Hidden Default Games
Go to the Windows directory and copy bubblebreaker.exe and solitaire.exe to the games folder as shortcuts in Windows\Start Menu. Make sure to unhide system files on the device to see the games listed.
I have done all that but games still do not show in PROGRAMS.Did i miss something?
heh, i'll be honest, I never got that 'tip' to work either, but many people have so i guess it must be true....

Try copying the .ink files (solitaire.Ink & BubbleBreaker.Ink) from My Device/Windows in My Device/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Games. After that you should be able to see the games in the games tab (from Manila- Start/Games).
what on earth is Manila?
After copying the files in the way i told you, go to your home screen and pres Start then Games. I guess you know this: in order to be able to see this files in Windows director you must unhide them ( in file explorer pres menu then ''Show All Files'')

Manila is the interface you see on your HD2. It more or less successfully covers the Windows Mobile underneath.
I didn't have any problem with this tip. I did the following:
1. Run Start/file Explorer
2. Go to My device/Windows folder
3. Press slider and drag it down to "B". Find Bubblebreaker.exe
There are four files with that name. Find the largest one./Press and hold on it to bring up the menu. / Press "Copy".
4. Go to My device/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Games
5. Press and hold anywhere to bring out menu. / press "paste as shortcut".
6. Repeat the same with "Solitare".
It should work now.
Thanks my friend.I have got it.
Sorry if this is a stupid question I have only just got a windows mobile. When you install programs it shows up on the start page. For example if I install uno is there anyway of putting it in the games folder ?
Thanks very much
You can indeed.
You need to do it through File Explorer.
If you go to My Device/Windows/Start Menu/Programs you can create new folders, cut and copy existing shortcuts into folders, etc.
If you open up file explorer and head into
windows folder..>..start menu..>..programs...
you should see all the shortcuts on the start menu (ie Uno) and the folders (ie Games)...
then you can just rearrange them as you like....
some of the htc shortcuts will re-appear after being moved but there is a registry entry you can alter to prevent this. You'll find info on that in the very useful hints and tips sticky at the top of the forum...........
Hope that helps...
Edit;
Beaten to it lol....
Thanks very much
Cheers for the replies i have managed to do it !
Thanks
