MDA Problems. NEED HELP - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Ok, hate to be that guy posting my problems up in multiple places but so far I have yet to fix this stuff.
History lesson:
Have a T-Mobile branded MDA. Great shape and all that good stuff. Worked perfectly with WM5. Went to XM6r3 by mfrazzz along with all the stuff involved with doing that. Since then I have had these problems
-Battery life. In just a little over an hour off the charger, without ONE call or text, my battery will drop to 89%. Found the "batterysaver.cab" and ran that, still no difference.
-MMS "error syncronizing." Been through customer care on the settings and all that. Under "Connect Via" I don't have the required selection, which is like "T-Mobile MMS" or "T-Mobile Data"
-WLAN not turning on. Go into the comm. manager, click WLAN, loading icon comes up and goes away, and the WLAN stays off...
Things I have tried so far:
-Went to the new XM6r5 by mfrazzz incase it was just maybe some bugs in that older version
-Ran the "batterysaver.cab"
-Ran the MMS auto config CAB file
-Loaded up something someone in the other thread posted with now a 3.08 IPL/SPL
Is there a way I can just get back to WM5? Maybe a WM6 version for T-Mobile? I like having WM6 but I'll take WM5 to fix these problems...
The other thread for some reference on people's suggestion and my n00b-ness

UPDATE
Just loaded the ROM from T-Mobile's website back to WM5... MMS works now, battery life still terrible (guess I just need to try another brand new battery), and the WLAN is STILL doing the same thing

ive the same battery problem, but my problem is that with mms, i cant add a server. im stuck with t-mobile. when i go to new, its shaded like i cant click it and i cant edit it either.
i could fix it if i knew how to install cabs in total commander.

Well now that I am on the T-Mobile WM5 version again the MMS works. Before, on the WM6 versions I was on, there was no "T-Mobile MMS" in the "Connect Via" drop down menu for whatever reason. Customer Care just told me I need to do a warranty exchange... Aside from this crap my MDA doesn't have a scratch on it and I don't want some crappy refurb.

run the cab i have below. i reccomend that once it's installed go into mms and under the severs tab chage it to connect via t-mobile data. setup like this mine still says 'error synchronizing' when i hit send/receive but if i send one or receive one i have no problem.

but i dont want to be on t-mobile!!! i want to be able to set up my own one for my network

start>settings>connections tab>connections i believe under 'manage existing connections' or somewhere around there you can modify/create connectons. a new one may show up in your mms drop box.

Yea I have that CAB and the problem is in that drop down menu of "connect via" I do not have the "T-Mobile MMS" or "T-Mobile Data" to select...

MMS tab is missing after ROM upgrade

I have Qtek 9100, and I recently upgraded my rom to 2.26.10.2 WWE. after the upgrade, I don't have any MMS capability. When I go to Messaging, then menu, there is no 'MMS Configuration' tab. No MMS anything even on my folder drop down list. I tried the Cingular MMS Cab that was posted. and that didn't work. GPRS and the internet connect just fine.
Any Idea?
check this thread:

check this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=61619
I did
I did actually go to that forum first. I install the Cingular MMS Cab, and it didn't work. I still couldn't find the 'MMS Configuration' anything. I don't really know how to do the extended ROM stuff. I know how to set up the MMS configuration for cingular once I can get to it. But I can't even get to the setting.
:?:
Had a simular experience.
Recent hard reset and no Extended ROM anything. Didn't start up at all.
Now this is good and bad.
I have the GPRS settings done but am struggling with MMS
I believe i have the base settings correct but i am unable to set up an MMS account in the place where email, TXT and hotmail goes.
As you can see i am on Vodafone UK with a monthly contract
any help appreciated
I just had the same issue last night. Hard reset, and non of the customisations loaded.
So i loaded a new rom to it instead
I had the same problem when i first got my phone. It was because of my data plan. I believe the customization takes place by downloading. I didnt have the Cingular PDA Data plan. Im tryin to beat the system with just media max data plan. its cheaper and few texts are included! you may have to add the PDA data plan in order to get the custom installations.
Make sure you look under Menu -> Tools -> Options. MMS will show up in there, if you're using the CAB I posted. I'm still trying to figure out how to make it show up in the menu itself versus having to go through the above shenanigans. Maybe I'll revisit that today when I should be working instead.
well, I still have the same plan as before I upgraded my ROM. and it worked great. No data plan, just the media bundle (or whatever they call it hese days). After I upgraded the ROM, there's no MMS even when I go to menu->tool ->option ->new account , it just do the email setting again. This happened also the first time I got the phone, and someone from cingular send me the setting on air (smart message or something) and it opens the "mms configuration" tab under the menu list. Then it worked just fine until I upgraded the damn ROM. Do you think is a problem during ROM upgrade process? Will redoing the ROM upgrade help? I rather not do this again.
Thanks everybody!
Which CAB did you install from that thread? The one in Dr P's post, or the one in my post?
i installed yours. and actually, since I've been up all night trying to tinker with this, I actually found a fix posted by Molski. And It works now. It doesn't have the direct 'mms configuration" tab to get to the setting, but at least now MMS is in the folder list and I could set up things from there. It seems to be working fine now.
Thanks for all the reply and helps, and shout out to Molski too.
This is the thread that I was looking at just incase someone is having the same problem
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=59513&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=25
I still don't know why or what the problem was though. Will I have to go through the same thing again when I decide to upgrade the ROM in the future?
You shouldn't have to. And that CAB file I posted should have done basically the same thing. I can't figure out why it didn't. I know I use a slightly different one when I bulldoze my 8125, but if I remember it's because I included some personal settings in there. I can't remember now.. But I may go dig it up, and if it isn't, post it here as well..
Okay, I just looked at the CAB files, and I see what I did.
Basically, the one I posted there just has the settings to fix the resizing issue. It doesn't actually create the MMS folder.
I have another CAB that I use that does create the MMS folder, and then I do my actual settings in a CAB file I use with a bunch of different settings.
I think I'll merge the two CAB files together and post 'em.
what resizing issue was there? since I have installed yours before the other CAB, should I reinstall yours again?
Probably wouldn't have to, unless it adjusts the camera settings.
Basically, if you blitz your device, and don't install any of the Cingular customizations, you don't get MMS. THere's a CAB in the Extended ROM that if you do install it, you get MMS, but there is a sizing issue with images. For example, I may have sent myself an image sized at 90k taken with my phone to myself, but when I receive it, it's a thumbnail sized image at about 3k. With the settings adjustments in the cab file I made, it would be the full sized 90k image.
to avoid all this I sugguest u call cingular and get a data plan.. hard reset or update ur rom or whatever u wanna do. and see if the mms appears then. after that call them back and cancle that data plan... it worked for me
I have already fixed the problem using the fix posted earlier. I am still using the same plan as before, and it's working fine. I thought the data plan is for GPRS connection using a laptop, for example. Anyhow, I just use the media package from cingular and I have been able to access the internet using my phone.

HOWTO: Softbank MMS on X01HT Made Easy

All right Everyone,
Here is the issue for anyone who doesn't know before we get started. If you setup Arcsoft's MMS Composer on your X01HT, you will have something called a 'Decoder Error' whenever you get an MMS message that is more than a couple of words. You can partially solve this issue by using the MMS Resender program, the other issue is that once you use the MMS Resender program you sometimes can not read your MMS anyways, it just comes in as a file that you can not open. But here it is, this is all I know which isn't much, but it's fun to try and get kinda working. My goal here is to create a discussion group solely on finding a 100% successful way to get MMS working, as MMS is AWESOME!
**QUOTE** Basically, softbank's MMS system uses some sort of non-standard MMS notification messages and MMS Composer can not understand them, thus generating error. Somehow, requesting softbank to re-send MMS notifications for the messages remaining on their MMS server cause the MMS system to send standard MMS notifications that MMS Composer can understand, and this time, it can retrieve MMS messages from the MMS server without a problem. MMS Resender basically does this trick **QUOTE** - hiroshiy
Also, you can install the mms composer 3.2, from the newest TYTN rom from HTC but then the Resender program will not work with it, or I have not gotten it to work with it, and although it's cool to have the newest program, you have to use the resender program at present. Anyways, here it is. Oh... and one more thing, the reason why we are using vodafone's proxys and passwords and all that stuff is because Softbank considers the MMS a super crazy uber secret the likes of which we have never seen before. OOHHH KAY.. here it goes.. my step by step guide of awesomeness....
#1. Be Cool, take a minute to reflect on just how cool you are for owning this piece of wonderful technology, and just think while other people are out there swimming, running, playing video games, you are here getting your mms to work! WOO, we are awesome, well at least I think so ehhehehe, NEXT!
#2. Get the stuff you need! Go and download the Asukal's package of Arcsoft's MMS Composer Z. ftp://xda:[email protected]/Hermes/Tools_and_Programs/Asukal/PocketMSN_MMSz.zip. Also you will need a registry editor, I recommend Resco Registry editor! Also guys, Resco is cheap and it is a really good program, I really like to support this company, so don't go downloading it from a torrent site like http://www.isohunt.com or nothing, you cheap basterds, common and buy it . The third thing you will need is the MMS Resender which can be acquired through the beautiful link here http://www.k5.dion.ne.jp/~ykp/LOVELOG_IMG/MMSResender_v1.1.zip.
#3. Unzip the cab files, and copy the mms_composer_z.cab to your "My Documents" area or where ever you will remember that you put it.
#4. Click on it, and Install it to your device, click "ok to restart your device".
#5. Click on: Start -=> Settings -=> Connections "Tab" -=> Connections.
#6. Under "My Work Network" click on "Add a New Modem Connection"
#7. You should see "Make New Connection, Enter a name for the Connection", I like to call mine Vodafone MMS to make it abundantly clear that I am connecting to Vodafone's network. You can however name this anything you want! You can even name this "MMS IS SUPER FUNKY FUN!" but, that would mean that you are gay.
#8. You will also see "Select a modem:", change drop down listbox to "Cellular Line (GRPS, 3G)", then click next!
#9. This is where it starts to get technical. Woo, can ya feeeel yer heart pumping with haxxorness? I can! Wooo! All praise to Jesus!! This is the greatest moment of my life!! ..... ok, maybe not... but damn close.. damn close I tell ya! You should see "Access point name:" In this box you want to put "mailwebservice.vodafone.ne.jp", then click "Next". WOO!
#10. You should now see "Vodafone MMS" or whatever you named your connection, at the top! Under "Username" you want to put "vodafonelive", and under "Password:" you want to put "qceffknarlurqgbl" (make sure you type in this password correctly, it can be the source of much frustration! Click next motha fakkaz! Aight.. click "FINISH"!
#11. Click on "Start" -=> "Messaging" -=> "Menu" -=> "MMS Configuration" -=> "Servers" tab. -=> "New". Under "Server Name" type "mailwebservice.vodafone.n" (no this is not a mistake, don't worry about the ".n" ending, we will fix it right away, if you notice you can't type in anymore can you ... k, do what I say and let me do my job damnitt hehehe), Under "Gateway" type "vfkkmmsproxy.vodafone.ne.jp", Under "Port Number" type "8080", Under "Server address" type "http:/mms/", Under "Connect via" in the dropdown listbox choose "My Work Network", Under "Sending Size Limitation" select in the dropdown listbox "248k", Under the "WAP Version" in the listbox choose "WAP 2.0" Click on "OK" in the bottom left hand corner! This should bring you back to the "MMS Configuration" screen. You should now see two things in there. 1) "mailwebservice.vodafone.n" 2) "SampleMMSC" Now, you should have "mailwebservice.vodafone.n" highlighted, and click on "Set As Default" in the lower right hand corner of the screen. Then hold down your stylus on "Sample MMSC" and delete the little kakaroach. "Do you want to delete this server from the server list?" - I have just one answer for you... SAY HELLO TO MAH LITTLE FRIEND.. YES CLICK YES OHH YEAH.. CAN YA FEEL IT ... CAN YA?!?!?! Ok, after all of this, click ok in the top right hand corner of the screen! Then click ok again in the top right hand corner of the screen. Now you should be back to the main today screen.
#12. K, we gotta shut down all the programs that are currently open on your phone cuz we are going to do a little bit of registry editing and we can't have nothing' opened see... nothing I tells ya... nothing! Click on "Start" -=> "Settings" -=> "System" tab -=> "Memory" -=> "Running Programs" -=> "Stop All".
#13. Open up your registry editor. Damnitt, did ya think I was going to tell ya how to click on the icon? AHhhh.. ok... fine.. here we go, onto the longest MMS explanation EVER in the history of the friggen world. Click on "Start" -=> "Programs" -=> "Resco Registry" -=> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -=> SOFTWARE -=> Arcsoft -=> ArcSoft MMS UA -=> Config -=> mm1 -=> XXXXX (this is a random number here chosen by the program, it will be the only number in this directory, ya can't miss it) -=> "Name", then here we finish typing in the name of the Server, so under "String" you will type "mailwebservice.vodafone.ne.jp", click on "Done" then click on the "Yes" for the warning message that comes up! Click on ".." -=> "WspHeader" -=> "User-Agent", then type under "Sting" type "Vodafone/1.0/V802SE/SEJ002" click on "Done" then click on the "Yes" for the warning message that comes up! Now you have to save the changed registry entries to the registry and many people get hung up on this part but, serious, this is one of the most crucial parts. Turn your device off. Just the soft of, you know like sleep mode off, you know not actually turn it off, just sorta turn it off.... ahhhh... I will explain. Just click the button that is just to the right of the video conference call camera lens for like .1 second. Not like 5 seconds, just like .1 second, we just want to turn the display off. Then wait for ten seconds and turn the display back on. Congratulations, the registry has been changed. OK, NEXT we will click on the "X" button in the top right hand corner of the screen. Then "X" again, and you should be back to your today screen. All right. How do you feel? You are almost there!.... can ya taste it? I sure know I can! Reboot your device. Ahh.. geeze.. put the friggen pointy stylus thingie in the bottom of the device's little hole... ahh.. never mind.. if ya can't figure out that one .. ehhehe. next!
#14. Here is the clincher.. go back into MMS in messenger and send yourself an Email to your hotmail or google address. You will get a weird looking email like [email protected], this will be your new mms email address. YOU CAN CHANGE THIS... ehhehe.. this is what I did, go to your local Softbank branch, tell them that you want to change your mms address, and they will be like .... sure, no problem, then you pull out your X01HT and they will look mad for a second and then you just tell them that you have bought a mms program over the internet and got it too work, like they know the difference! They will say sure no problem, and they will take out your little sim card and change your mms to whatever you like. Isn't that beautiful? You must however send one mms message from your X01HT for it to give you this painful mms automatically. Then you can change it to whatever you like.
#15. Last but not least, take the MMS Resender program, copy it into the program files directory on your device. Make a link to it and place it on your programs menu, you will need it allot. K, also one more thing, you might wonder to yourselves, "Why isn't he using MMS Resender v1.2", I guess it is because it has never worked at all for me, I will load it up, and nothing at all will happen. If anyone knows the answer to this, let me know! ehehhe. Click on it, click file then open. Should re-receive all your messaged you have ever gotten, but strangest thing is, you still might not be able to read them, so here is where I am stuck. **Damnitt now I am getting a “connect init error” from this stupid resender program, it was working before but, but.. of course now it is not. Anyways, anyone can shed some like on this matter, this is the thread to do it. I want to soely dedicate this thread to MMS debugging and fixing. I want MMS, and I know many, many people do to!**

Thanks a lot for that. ) I know understand why the MMS composer included in my HTC ROM + re-sendder 1.2 never worked.
Pls. don't forget to forward it to Softbank so that they are prepared when we come asking them to change our MMS address.
I followed the guide to the letter, and can now for the time SEND MMS. Great! However, the r-sender always gives me the "ConnectIni" Error, regardless whether I use 1.0 or 1.1. I guess there is still something wrong with my settings. Any idea?
Fixed, I figured out what I did wrong!
Ok people, I figured out what I did wrong. It's actually quite simple, but that is what I guess makes big problems, the simple errors. Also, I am sure that I can get MMS 3.2 working now instead of the MMS 3.0. I will post all my findings later tonight. Here is how you get the resender program to work. Ok, goto 'Start' - 'Settings' - 'Connections' tab - 'Connections' - Under "My Work Network" click on "Manage Existing Connections" then click on the 'General' tab and change the network name to 'VFJP Network'. Click ok, ok, ok. You're done! It should work. Also, I will post a new message tonight on how to get the new MMS Messenger 3.2 to work, it's actually really easy and one more cool thing... I think I might have gotten MMS to work using softbanks servers, we can now maybe do this all on softbanks open connection, but I am in the testing phase. Cuz I'M AWESOME!!!
-Joe
So cool, I have written this whole message on my X01HT.

Great, after changing, the re-sender is now working!
Chainbolt! I want to help you man!
Ok, tell me exactly what is under your "Start" -=> "Settings" -=> "Connections" tab -=> "Connections" -=> Under "My Work Network" click on the "Manage Existing Connections" link -=> "General" tab and change the network name to "VFJP Network" <=- this has to be EXACTALLY LIKE THIS, otherwise you will get the 'connectiniterror', you must have this exactly like this.
Also, I am just going to try and get the NEW MMS Messenger 3.2 to work, this is going to be awesome, because I think I can get all the settings to work with our open.softbank.ne.jp connection! I think..... SOOOO I'll be back. Damnitt, there has to be more than two people interested in this.. frick, do you know how long it has taken me to get this all working. I think I have finally perfected my Hermes.
Ok, this is what I have done!
Super SIM & CIDed my Hermez.
Hacked Softbanks boot Loader 1.09 and brought it down to 1.04, it's actually not that difficult, and believe me, if I can crack it, if Asukal can crack it, then others can too, just a little trick I learned in College. (Softbank should not put all their eggs in one basket, if this crack is released, it will damage Hermes in Japan? Who in the world thought that they could make something without us figuring out how to unmake it? Do you think your programmers are smarter than everybody else’s programmers? I love that I got my Hermes for free, but, at what price, the price that this will be the only HTC in Japan ever? You guys need a different marketing strategy if you are putting so many eggs in one basket. -JK Next, get POP and SMTP to work perfectly, get MMS to work perfectly, get Hotmail to work in Messenger Perfectly, get my 3G Icon back, get a normal dialler back in there, get GPS working, get some cool games, get some cool apps like msn search live, get Nintendo working, and change the splash screen to the cool logo that one of the kids posted here. That’s it... I love my Hermes.
Old ROM or new ROM?
Does this work for the new locked SB ROM? Or is it just for the old one?
Thanks.
Hi Kalahari,
can you make the Composer 3.2 work?

Thank you SO MUCH. It's now working. Everything: SMS, MMS, Hotmail, and POP3.
MMS Messenger 3.2 **WORKING PERFECTLY**
Ok People!
Here is the facts! I have just got messenger 3.2 to work perfectly with resender and it works awesome. It is fully integrated with Messenger and it works like a breaze. One of the main features, is, it looks a little bit prittier and you can save the attachments that will not open and then you can open them in a message viewer, MMS is now almost perfect. Now to crack mms.softbank.ne.jp, then I will be happy. OK BYE.

I think he is talking about MMS Composer 3.2, it's part of the HTC ROM. The Softbank ROM (Japanese) does not have it, because Softbank claims MMS does not work with the XO.
Also, one more little thing I would like to share.
If you put the MMSresender.exe VERSION 1.2 into your /Windows/Startup folder then it will load every time windows does and automatically minimizez itself. Here I thought version 1.2 wasn't working, but it was working all the time, you have to just go into the memory area and activate it to see it. You dont need to do that anyways, because version 1.2 will minimize automatically and then when it detects a decorder error it will automatically grab the mms message without you knowing anything went wrong, and combine all of this with verion 3.2 in the new tytn rom OOOOO it is beautiful, and I think you can just install version 3.2 just by downloading the cab file and clicking on it. It's on this site, just find the extended rom for the newest HTC rom and then download it and click on mms32.cab or whatever it is called. BUT YEAH... it is done.. it is possible... and it works ALMOST flawlessly! WOO!
-Joe. time for sleep.
Seems that this does not work on SoftBank or DoCoMo ROMs... It's possible to extract & install MP_MMS3.2_HTC_GenS_Hermes_061110.CAB from new HTC TyTN ROM, but nothing changes... No MMS options under messaging. I also tried instaling complete HTC TyTN Extended ROM, soft reset, no go. Same on both SoftBank & DoCoMo ROMs.
But Asukal's MMS Composer works on both. (He's the man! ) I noticed that Asukal's Composer has more than 60! files and man Registry entries, it's 2.6 MB in size, while TyTN's cab only has few hundred kb... Something is missing, for sure...
We should ask Asukal to make new version of MMS Composer, right?
You tried to install MMS Composer 3.2 on Softbank?
Could you verify something for me. Cuz initially I thought that the options wern't there either, but I have found them in a different location. They are in "Start" -=> "Messaging" -=> "Menu" -=> "Tools" -=> "Options" -=> And under here I see "Text Messages", "MMS", "(My Pop Account)", and "New Account". What do you see? Of course under MMS is where I configure it. This works absolutely flawless. I also have much less problems with MMS 3.2 than MMS 3.0. It also looks nicer. ehheeheh.
Anyways.. give it a shot, tell me what you see!
I must have done something wrong
I installed MMS resender, MMS composer
I manage to get the MMS in without error messages (ie resender doing its job properly). But the bodies of the MMS are empty. Most of them are 1K size. I sent myself an MMS from my email account in order to check, and I have the same result... (ie nothink in the message)
Besides when I try to send one from my Hermes, it fails...
Would someone have an idea of what I misconfigured ?
Please, help !!
Actually I understand that what I recieve are only notifications... When I tried to download, I get the following message "Unable to receive your message. Your messge notification will remain in the inbox"
I obviously mis configured something

I think I found the source of the problem... It seems that in my MMS configuration, my option "Connect via" automatically resets to something else than "VFJP Network". I cannot say what since it is in japanese in my list, but it s the seventh from the top (Just below Internet)
I created anew server config... But again whenever I come back to the MMS configuration... the connect via option has switched back to this option....
Anybody can check it is the same for him ? Or someone had the same problem ?
Thanks for your help
That's something else
It looks like for any connection inputed in English, the system has a corresponding one with a Japanese title (I use the MUI from Asukal)
Whenever I chose one fo the possible connections (Like WAP, Work, Secure Wao, etc...) when I come back to the configuration later, the choice has been switched to one of the Japanese designation in the list (And there seem to be a matching one for one)
So I guess the problem is somwhere else. Besides I would probably not recieve the notices if this setting was wrong, no ?

Flash an English ROM, for the examp e the WWE ROM form HTC South Africa, and the problem is gone. It comes with Composer 3.2, and Re-sender 1.2 is also working. The set-up as described in the initial post works w/o any problem for the Softbank network.

Molski AKU2.3 to Molski AKU3.3

I got my Cingular 8125 about a month ago, and I just recently noticed that I didn't have any MMS features available. So I contacted Cingular and they were absolutely no help, but I did figure out that my phone had a custom OS uploaded by the previous owner, and it said Molski.biz AKU2.3 (2.26.10.2 WWE) on the startup screen.
So I did some searching on here and found out that Molski creates some awesome ROMs for our phones, and I found a download link to upgrade to AKU3.3 that is supposed to have MMS support and all sorts of other cool stuff. I upload the new ROM as instructed, and the phone works but there are absolutely no differences between 2.3 and the new 3.3. The only thing that's different is the startup splash screen, it now displays a Windows logo and old one simply said Molski.biz in red letters.
The ROM version and everything else is still the same, and I have no MMS features, no Smartskey, extra themes, etc. that the new Molski ROM is supposed to have.
Can anyone help me?
Phone info (before & after AKU3.3 install is the SAME)
G3 HTC Wizard
ROM: 2.26.10.2 WWE
GSM: 02.25.11
SPL: 2.26
IPL: 2.26
Since you upgraded and only the splash screens changed and not the rom, it sounds like iti probably isn't CID Unlocked (so they may have used shell tool or something). What you should do is CID Unlock it just to be sure if you want to play with various custom roms (like Molski, Faria, and all the WM6 ones):

Now, with that said, if all you want to do is get MMS working, here's a cab for Cingular (I'm assuming thats who you have, you didn't say) that will get MMS going
That worked .. but I still can't download MMS messages when I receive them. It starts downloading but stays at 0% the whole time. I followed the guide on Cingular's website to setup their MMS options and the only thing I noticed is that my phone doesn't have the option to connect via MEdia Net for the downloads. Could that be the problem?

You do have to be sure you are operating with MediaNet with proxy to get MMS messages. Go to Settings>Connections>Advanced>Select Networks, hit the dropdown menu selection and pick Media Net rather than My ISP. Then go to Connections>Tasks>Set Up My Proxy Server and be sure that "This networks uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet" is checked. You can't get MMS if you aren't on MediaNet proxy!

Hmm .. it seems my phone doesn't have the MediaNet option on it. When I go to Connections>Advanced>Select Networks I only have My ISP and My Work Network .. no Media Net option available. I can rename the Work network to say MediaNet if that will work, but I dunno how to configure the proxy for MediaNet. Can anyone gimme the settings from the proxy server?
Try installing this cab and see if it gives you MEdiaNet as an option.
BTW: per a post from Dr. P I saw here, I now keep both this cab and the one I posted above (as well as others) on my SD card so if I have to hardreset or when I switch roms, I can quickly put these settings back on my phone.
I think I found them .. is this it?

MMS settings for T-Mobile TP2 without data plan?

Just purchased a TP2 and completed the HardSPL and installed the EnergyROM. However I still can't get the picture messaging to work correctly. My previous phone was a unlocked Sony W810i which I'm able to send and receive MMS messages with no problem. I've tried to duplicate some of the settings from phone to phone but I haven't had good results. I didn't want to spend the extra money for the data plan because the phone has WIFI built in. All I want to do is be able to send and receive MMS messages. Can anyone help? Thanks.......Jason
go back to where you downloaded your rom and look for the mms settings cab and keyboard cab. nrg's energyroms always has a cab for it...
or you can do it yourself its easy
go to connections
select tmo mms
hit edit and change the access point to wap.voicestream.com
leave everything els the same way and save haha its easy
after having to flase a new rom every day(im addicted) you memorize it
Under the T-Mobile MMS I have
Server name: T-Mobile MMS
IP address: 216.155.165.50
Port number:8080
Server address:216.155.174.84/servlets/mms[/url]
Connect via: T-Mobile MMS
Message size limit: 300KB
WAP Version: WAP 2.0
Where do I enter the access point name?
This ROM does have T-mobile setup program but the settings for MMS will not work. I don't why I can't get it to work, I can send MMS on my W810i with no problems.

Thanks, but the CAB still didn't work. I can receive, but I still can't send. Also, I have been searching on multiple forums, so don't just assume that I haven't been looking. I have been searching and trying different settings for 2weeks.

Yes, I tried setting up the MMS settings after the install. I was having this same problem before I flashed the the NRG ROM. I see that you have T-Mobile, did you have to install the CAB? Do you think I'm having issues becaus I don't have a data plan? I wouldn't think that would be the case because my old unbranded W810i works just fine when sending and receiving MMS. However that phone is not a smart phone. When you are in the connections tab what is the difference between My Work Net Work, and the standard T-mobile Data. Under my work netwok I have no connections set up. However I was reading a thread on a different forum that instructed you to setup a MMS connection under MY WORK NETWORK. I tried that, but it din't work. Also, everytime I try to send an MMS I get a message that says my current data connection will be stopped in order to send the MMS and then you have to select OK, is that normal? Sorry for the paragraph...this is driving me crazy.
did you go to start/settings/connections/connection setup and select your country and operator? that should have done the trick. if that dont do it then this is what you do. since the tmo mms .cab dosent fix it and your connections are set and it still wont work, go to tmobile.com and grab the 6.5 rom upgrade, flash it, soft reset,(this will set all your settings to tmobile network), try to mms and if successful, flash back the NRG rom and use the .cab for mms linked on his rom thread(also get the keyboard fix). it will take you about half an hour. if you dont want to do that then wait and see if someone else has a solution. theres 183 views on this thread and no one stepped in to give advise. i have unlimited everything with tmo and i have no issues with mms. hope you can mms soon...

I don't mean to slam you...too badly, but if you don't know how to fix this simple problem, you probably shouldn't be flashing roms. The fix was in the 3rd post, but obviously you haven't used Windows Mobile long enough to know what he was talking about, and you haven't searched for the answer long enough.
So with that said I will walk you through it.
1. Go to the Start Menu, Settings, Connections, and run Connection Setup. Ensure that you have selected United States for country and the operator is T-mobile. Click Ok. Then Yes.
2. Soft Reset
3. Go to the Start Menu, Settings, Connections, and open Connections.
4. Click on the "Advanced" Tab, select Networks, on the pull-down menu select T-Mobile MMS, and click edit.
5. The Radio tab next to T-mobile MMS should be selected, if not click it, then click edit and the bottom of the screen.
6. Click Next on the Name Connection Screen.
7. The next screen should be Access Point Name.
8. Change this to wap.voicestream.com
9. Click Next, on the next screen click finish, and the following click ok.
10. Change the box for "Programs that automatically connect to......." to T-mobile Data and click ok.
11. Soft Reset
I verified these steps as flashed the new version of NRG rom.

I appreciate your help, and I did try doing this before with 6.1, with 6.5, and with the NRG ROM. Maybe I missed a step or installing the MMS T-mobile cab screwed it up. However I did get it to work this time. Maybe I'm not a WM guru like you, but I'll be enjoying my NRG ROM now. Would you like to make a donation for your help? I know everyone gets tired of answering the same question over and over, however I have honestly been searching different forums and trying different fixes cabs etc.. Once again thanks for everyone's time. Too bad you have to get flamed for asking.

Vodafone UK MMS settings

Hi all, despite searching and trying lots of things out I have stuffed up my settings a bit, and now have a permanent 'sending mms' message - but anyway.
I am trying to set up my vodafone UK MMS settings. I believe I have the correct settings under MMS options (It did work briefly) but the bit I am struggling with is how to setup the parts under conenctions. When I got MMS working it broke Opera's net access over 3G. Truing to fox that with many cabs etc has left me very confused and now back to having everything workinge xcept MMS.
If I set the network conenction setup manager it creates Contract Internet and My Work Network (but the latetr seems to have no settings).
I have gone round in circles for a few days and so would be grateful for any advice or cab that sets this up properly - I had my own for O2 but am struggling here.
Cheers for any help.
Did you even try Vodafone's website?
this page:
http://help.vodafone.co.uk/system/s...&PARENT_TOPIC_TYPE=0&SOURCE_FORM=BROWSE_TOPIC
at top right has links to pdf's for tp2 detailing mail, internet, wap and MMS.
Go methodically through all 4 and you should be sorted.
Thank you - yes I did try that exact page on my travels before posting.
Part of the issue may be that I am using a 6.5.x Rom and the layout is not quite the same as that envisaged in the instructions I think.
I am trying again but as I said - I have tried this way already.
EDIT - still struggling - could someone with this working on a 6.5.x ROM walk me through their conenctions setup under settings (I have the MMS Options part I am sure).
aha... so it's normal connection settings you need
I have an Xperia on Vodafone on which i'm running a 6.5 Energy Rom . I manually tweak my settings as below... dunno if this will be of any help to you...
settings>connections>connections>advanced tab>select networks>select "contract internet" in top drop down>edit
> you should have a "contract internet" modem with number "internet" listed under modem; if not add it from your internet setting pdf.
>ADD wap settings as a new modem under the "CONTRACT INTERNET" settings (should be in your WAP setup pdf) (make sure no proxy set)(so you now have Auto Pick selected)> OK
on network management page for BOTH connections select "Contract Internet">ok>ok
go into std windows messaging client>on account selector screen select sms/mms>menu>mms options>servers>select whatever is there (Contract MMS in my case)>change "connect via" to "contract internet">OK
and I THINK that's all i do..
for anywhere you can select the connection use the "Contract Internet" option we've previously setup to auto switch between 3g and wap as needed.
hope that is of help...
Buff
Trying this now - but that looks like exactly what I was looking for (in terms of what to put in where) so if this does not work then I am stumped!
Cheers for the help.
EDIT: Still no joy - it just sits there telling me it is sending the message but never going past 0%
Will try this after a clean flash when TPC puts up his next rom - or might quickly flash the 17/3 energy rom.
Update:
I have sent a message - hurrah.
This seems to be related to the fact I enabled 3g. I usually turn off 3g to save battery, and live on Edge. Do you ned 3G for MMS to work on vodafone? Or was this a coincidence?
Just saw last post as i was typing more suggestions- woohoo!
I always leave 3g enabled BUT for me I travel an hour and a half to work on train and the reception is very variable, so leave all possible connections enabled, sometimes one drops when the other doesn't.
I'm not that bothered by battery life; energy roms get me easily a couple of days which means i never really consider power an issue.
but i don't think mms SHOULD be 3g related (unless it's something to do with the implementation of MMS on your sense 2.5 rom... hmmm)
I do believe that, thanks to your help, I now have this sorted!
It was all about which way to have things et up under the network management tab really - I was putting the wap conenction as a different heading rather than a modem under the normal one.
Anyway, following the latest EnergROM flash last night I have got it working again!
Thanks a lot for the help.
I am going to try and make a provisioning cab that will sort it all and will post it if I finish it. Its setting the default connections on the network management tab that might stump me but we will see - there are plenty of examples around - its just a question of time. the MMS settings are just a reg export as well.
