Upgrade SPV M650 to official HTC Rom ?

Hi there,
As a total newbie in the mobile world i was wondering the following:
As the models MDA C3, HTC P3300, SPV M650, etc etc are, lets say, the same underneath the skin, is it possible to put an original HTC rom onto my (CID unlocked) SPV M650.
It's got this annoying Orange Logo on it.

i used the imei unlock. Now it's sim-unlocked, but does that make ik cid-unlocked too?

if U used www.imei-check.co.uk (U recieved YOURIMEI.unl file and used c3unlock.exe-or newest is c3v2unlock.exe) yes u made your PDA CIDunlocked. Is this what U wanted to hear? I hope so.

This is what i wanted to hear. I've downloaded the latest HTC rom. So now i can get rid of the last Orange-stuff
I used an other unlock-comp (unlockthatmobile, more expensive, but same technique, dont ask why).

second question... is there anyway to 'dump' my current ROM in case i want a fall-back situation?
It's a dutch orange spv m650 rom.

No, that is not possible. Even if it was, you could not restore your device with this dump ROM.

ah.. in short... dumping a rom (to a pda) is a one-way trip...
there is no 'way back'. installing the new rom is like a way back.

Waldo wants to know how the ROM compares to the original Orange ROM. Most of the time it is that the alternative ROMs are in English, some people feel more at home with an English version. Secondly, alternative ROMs might be newer, and therefore have less bugs. And you won't have that Orange logo anymore. But its your own choice, of course.
p.s. This is an English forum, you have to write everything in English. Just 'regards' is not good enough.

I found a German ROM for my o2 XDA on the FTP site - here is the link...

Maybe it isnt what you are lookng for, but it got me out of a pinch today.

i have found the rom.And have try it.I can only boot in booloader mode.Nothing else work.If i activate bootloader mode and plug in the usb cable i hear the sound that usb is connected.But if i start the original rom update it doesn't recognize the phone. Error 260 appears Verbindung(connection)

I also had to load this rom from bootloader. If the rom doesnt see the phone, restart the phone into bootloader again. I noticed that if it tried to find the phone once and couldnt, it would not ever be able to unless I reset the phone and put it back in bootloader. this rom will work, just keep playing with it.

there should be some question answered for the ROM inside the archive <P3300_softwareupdate_GER.zip> before flashing.
1. Is the Rom an Original HTC 3300 ROM? (with TomTom inside)
2. Is this ROM WM5 or WM6? (nobody answered that question yet)
3. Which file inside the arcive should be used?
<P3300_softwareupdate_GER_1.exe> or
<P3300_softwareupdate_GER_2.exe> or both
4. In which order should I use that two files?
As long as these question are`t answered, everybody should keep the fingers away from flashing, because he did`t know, what he is doing. Some help from a "guru" would be helpfully. =

A also have the a HTC Touch Cruise with a norwegian rom, I'd be happy to dump the rom if it's somehow possible.

Unless i have to void my warranty, i'll be glad to help you get an Norwegian ROM out of my device which i recieved last Friday.

Will post a link to it as soon as it's done. Depending on the time it takes it may not be until tomorrow morning. (i'll upload it during the night)

Hmmm... when I'm trying to sync using ActiveSync (against our Exchange server) I get the errormessage: Not enough memory with Errorcode: 0x8007000E... And this is right after flashing my Polaris. I have 58 MB free for programs, so that shouldn't be the problem.

because withe other versions the problem is in dark surroundings it flashes to early / not long enough and taking bad pictures

So did everything ended well? The upgrade I mean? I also downloaded the ROM with atreidex serial but havent installed it yet. ROM is 1.37.70.1 that should be English language (according to HTC) but I am asking cause I would not wanna end up with my touch2 on Romanian, and I do want to upgrade.

i don't know what is updated in this Orange ROM. I only want this because i was hoping, that there are some newer EXT packages or something but the EXT Packes are older than the EXT packages of the official ASIA WWE ROM.
So, i think it's not useful for me. I only want to take a look at the Orange-Homescreen because the Orange-Homescreen für SPV500 was very popular...
