internal mic replacement problem - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

i damaged the internal mic of my magician while trying to change the housing.
so i just removed the mic from the board so that i could solder a new one as there is no service spot around.
the replacement mic i have, has only two terminals but the place from where i removed the mic has 4 (as marked in attached image in red)
and the similar mic is not available.
is there any way i can make the spare mic i have to work on magician.
can somebody guide me where i should solder the two terminals? and put a new life in my old favourite?
thanks a lot.

Microphone Problem
Hi mariner_heart,
I'm new to this forum, I bought an internal mic from ebay, the ebay trader's name is e2shop.
I was wondering how you are going with that as I have to replace my mic when I receive it.
Is their any way you could explain to me how to take the old mic off please would be much appreciated.
Regards,
tassie

hi dood. as in your picture, use a usuall mic and put a 4.7 kohm resistor between 3,4 then wire pin 4 for + of mic and - of mic to pin 3

new "no speaker" solution

I had to repair a no speaker fault in one of these. what i found was the rear housing was touching one on the solder points of the hands-free socket, shorting to ground. See the picture for location.
The speaker would work sometimes, but then stop, especially if the unit was put in the cradle (which probably moved the housing slightly to cause the short).
A tiny bit of electrians tape over the solder and problem was fixed
If you have resoldered you handsfree socket you DEFINATELY have to put tape over the solder because the extra solder will make it touch the housing.
Hope it helps some of you. Maybe when sometimes when people jiggle the headset socket to get their speaker working they are really just moving the case slightly and that's what's fixing the problem?? ... or maybe 2 separate faults, not sure. Try the fix and see...
EDIT: cutting away the intruding part of the housing seems to work better than the tape

Main speaker disconnected

By disassembling the Magician the two cables of the main speaker were disengaged. I now need detailled inside pictures (at the best both sides of this oval speaker) where exactly I have to solver them.
Pleaze help (The disassembling manual from 718 is not fine enough).

Are the wires disconected from the speaker or from the board.
If from the speaker than tou must see 2 solver points (clear) you dont have to worry about + and -.
On the board the speaker wires are connected throug a small white connector.
You can also buy a new speaker wich have the wires and connector attached. Or replace it for a alcatel speaker. (that works for me)
Disconnected from Speaker
Thx for prompt reply. Is disconnected from speaker.
Have tried to solder at the speaker, but doesn't work.
I guess the previous owner has done something wrong so my question
for detailled picture.
What kind of alcatel is the speaker you took?
You may want to test if your speaker is working or not. You want to know which part of the circuit is having the problem.
eg. Take a multi-meter to test the resistance of the speaker.
If you can get Alcatel 511 speaker (oval), use cutter to cut out some plastic pin, that doesn't allow you to put speaker on it's place, and desolder two contact springs (gold color) and solder two wires instead.
Thats the one
First test the speaker (usumed you did that allready)
If you tried to solver and it did not work the speaker is probably defect but (small chance) it can also be a deect board.
Problem solved
Many thanks to JDark and fj200 - have ordered the Alcatel 511 speaker for € 1,49 + freight (here in Germany via ebay.de, price for original speaker is € 28,90!!!), cutted the plastic pin, cutted the golden contact springs and then soldered with the two wires - runs perfect.

HD2 internal microphone - how to replace?

Ok, so.. i have this broken microphone on a hd2 board and need to replace it. But.. the microphone is soldered to the board + a metallic shield over it, also soldered to the board.
I removed the original (broken) mic and the shield and noticed it has 4 contacts to the mothebroard. I don't know if it's a digital mic, or what type of microphone is it. I soldered a couple of wires to that spot and placed an external mic to test to see if the board is fine. It worked, but i had a relatively low gain on the microphone. I tried to solder a nokia mic inside, but failed because i heated the mic too much (microphones and heat.. not good buddies). I cannot fiind a direct compatible mic so i need to improvise something.
Does anyone has an ideea about what types of microphones htc uses on hd2 or similar phones? And how to safely mount it on the board?
hd2 mic replacement
Hi Bogdan. Can you please share your experience with the hd2 mic? I have the sae problem after keeping a hd2 board in isopropilic alcohol after the phone took a bath. it works fine noww but the mic has very low gain and I think it's diafragn was destroyed (or at least the glue) by the alcohol. I would like to change it to some other mic, but after I red what you wrote, that it has 4 connections i'm in doubt. Did yu manage to make a "transplant" and have ot working? Also, I have a problem with the screen orientation (internal gyro sensor ) meaning the screen won't auto rotate after i removed the metallic band from the bottom of the screen, that connects the front to the bottom of the screen of smth like this (GND). Have you seen that problem? Problem is it works normally on Windows mobile but doesn't on android.
Thanks.

Loudspeaker not working after battery & mic replacement

Hi, yeasterday I replaced broken mic (incl. charging USB port) and battery on my LGG6+. After that I tried and test if everything is OK and I found that loudspeaker is not working .. I dissassembly and assembly phone after that a few times, I checked every possible reasons for this problem, I gently cleared all connectors between board and mic part (and tried to use also old mic & USB part) .. but without any success.
Maybe it's related (and I'm not really sure, that this part is from LGG6) with this problem, after first dissassembly I found this little peg with sealing ring on my table (in attachement).
The size (lengh) is appr. the same as 11 screws holding plastic cover of board. It seems like screw, but it's a little thicker and without thread. Do you have any idea if it's also part of this phone and if so, where is this peg placed inside the phone? I have absolutely no clue, where is this part from ..

So, please give me any hint how to solve the problem with not working loudspeaker, I'd like to use my phone again :] .. Thanks!

teardown problem?

HI,
New to oneplus 5 forum.
I recently bought a used oneplus 5 with a broken screen.
I am reasonably familiar with replacing screens, and the odd modular parts of phones
So, replaced the screen and frame, put it back together, everything seemed good
Checked everything, all things seem to work, except for loudspeaker?
Headphone output works , but I get a clicking from the speaker.
Have tried another working speaker - same thing.
Have ordered another flex cable from motherboard to speaker in case thats the fault.
There are several contacts on the speaker and underlying module that appear to connect with the back case.
The back case has the headphone and usb charging port, and several electrical contact points.
So - does anyone know if the back case has to be clipped back into place to get the speaker working?
I am reluctant to try it just to see see because it is a pain in the xxss to get it off again without scratching my shiny new frame.
if anyone can enlighten me who has experience of this I would be most grateful.

YAAY!
t'was the motherboard cable
