Top Bar - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi,
Is there an any application which can make my top bar transparent.
It would be very useful and will look good with full screen wallpapers.

Check out this thread here:
http://rotlaus-software.de/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=4477#p4477
The OP mentioned a program called Skinmobile5. I tried to search for it but to no avail. Maybe you'll have better luck.

try wisbar advance

how can you do this with wisbar? i've tired but cant figure it out

just use a transparent or semi-transparent png as your top bar.
There is a skin called GANT that does that already.

i tried that application and found a few issues
1. no transparent option
2. has to run in background
3. not in english
i'd really like to have a transparent top bar so if anyone knows how that'd be sweet (w/o WA3). also, can you make it smaller? such as on the the s2u2 screen.

I think there is no software like that, if someone is willing to make one it would be awesome.

I did this work on my skin here:
http://rotlaus-software.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1099
You should download last version of Skinmobile5. (attached)
after copying skinmobile5 to your device, open skinmobile5.ini file
Code:
[Image]
// absoluten Pfad zum Hintergrundbild hier angeben:
Background = \Windows\tdywater.gif
// eigenes 32Bit-Icon statt der Windows-Fahne
Icon = \Storage Card\Program Files\SkinMobile5\Home.ico
[Settings]
HiddenStart = Yes
TaskbarImageOnly = Yes
TaskbarOffset = 15
LowerbarImageOnly = Yes
LowerbarOffset = 26
Blurness = 50
Set Background to your default background (\Windows\tdywater.gif)
Set Icon to your favorite startmenu icon. otherwise put // at end of this line to use default icon.
Now you should play with these settings:
TaskbarOffset, LowerbarOffset change the numbers and save skinmobile5.ini file. run skinmobile5.exe to see if topbar and bottom bar backgrounds fit to your main background if not close skinmobile5 and change those numbers again and run skinmobile5.

Thanks alot pi3ch, but i cannot get to more than this(see pic).
Does this software make top bar transparent or same as the wall paper.

this software set background/colors for topbar. if you set background path to the location of your today theme background your topbar looks like transparent. As what I did in my own skin.

How about completely removing the bars? Try usin vjaytoggletoday

Get rid of lines in today screen

I'm try ingto create a totally black today screen.
But whatever i do, i can't get rid of the grey lines as shown in the pic below.
I use ThemeGenCE and UI tweaker.

}
Launch UI Tweaker, and then launch the TdyScheme Changer.
Click Standard Colors.
Scroll down and select "Today Screen Horizontal Bar"
Click on the dark grey box above the text.
Change the RGB settings to 0,0,0
Click Ok
Click Ok again.
Exit and close UI Tweaker.
Bob's Your Uncle.
Note: the lines on the taskbar and the softkey bar may not change, they are (I think) part of the .tsk file and would have to be changed there.
Also, the gray lines in the HTC plugin are part of that plugin, not driven by the theme, so you'd have to edit the theme for that plugin, not the today settings.

Does anyone know how to change the .tsk file, with ThemeGenCE or another app?

Yes, ThemeGenCE can be used to remove crap like that...although I myself dont know how to do it...ahh, I miss the days of the fully changable Windows Mobile 5.0 homescreen...man, you could change ANYTHING about the GUI in WinMo 5!

Seems to me the only "easy" way to get rid of them is to make a background the same color as the lines (or vice versa), so they will be invisible, at least. That doesn't help you if you were planning on using a textured background, though, eh?
Actually, it looks like once you have a theme imported, you can uncheck the check-box next to "Today Screen horizontal bars" and that should remove them...I've frankly never had much luck with this program, however, so you're really the expert here.
...doesn't help the version I have is about eight iterations behind the current one, either...

No ! you can't get rid of these lines. It is Operating System (OS) dependent.
But you can attenuate them by choosing a color for these lines.

[Theme development question] - signal state icons - asking the best of you

Hi, I trying create the black status bar icons set for use with white themes and I foun hard to change signal state icons...
my question is : anybody knows how to add for example 7 line of indicator of signal state like this....
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
but my primary question is how to skin this signal state icons f.e. black red and so on...
I stuck here:
changed colour of signal state but it seems like the signal state icons appears like "transparenting" status bar, because it also changes default white background on programs dialogs...
Any suggestions ?????
other pics...
for illustration of my problem...
If I am not mistaken, the signal icons are all contained in the shellres.96.dll.mui file. I remember seeing them while I was looking for the battery icons (I wanted to do the same as you but with the battery).
Hope this helps.
some months ago i changed some system colors with sktools, also the background color of wm. I also found out that wm uses this backgroundcolor for both, signal and background, so i see no way to manage this Problem without changing both so welcome to the the world of unlogical confusing programming:windows mobile. Try it with a light or middle grey for both.

the registry key is:
HKLM\System\State\Phone\Signal Strength
but then you have to create your own taskbar with something like homescreen plusplus
or you try wisbar
i am currently working on the same. i create my own taskbar with homescreenplusplus
just in case you need more keys:
HKLM\System\State\Phone\Cellular System Available

all right

Thanks. That's the one I tried. It leaves the background in place, so without your jpeg it would be invisible but with your image it leaves a blank rectangle where the "invisible" numbers would be. Any ideas?
im not quite sure if i understand...
a background image will not affect the clock in any way...
can you post a screenshot of what you mean?
do you mean the Clock Background image? (default is that white book-like thing)

soory, no idea how to do screen shots. i included a jpeg. see that clock background? On Sprint its black. The invisible clock .cab erases the numbers the the rectangle remains. The imgage is of a "backless" fire clock, btw.
