Hello
Is there any program/driver that allows for WPA2-PSK TKIP security access using WM2003 1.72 ext 1.66.165 on XDAII? Current o/s only allows for WEP (or unsecured). Perhaps Funk Software odyssey if anyone knows...(do not want to upgrade ROM as everything's working nicely thanks anyway)
(Finally bought a SDIO wifi card and it works perfectly just need access to secured network too.)

hi,
quite late reply, but i've got exactly the same problem.
i can connect to open & wep networks, but i cannot connect to wpa secured ones. i'm using wm2003 and the latest spectec drivers from spectec's website. i tried several spectec driver versions and also reinstalled wm once for a try.
did you find a solution for this problem yet?
thanks in advance.

I think you are looking in the wrong place.....
When configuring the Authentication Type select 'Open' (the options should be Open, Shared, WPA or WPA-PSK (if you have one of the cooked AKU 3.3 or above ROM's then WPA2 & WPA2-PSK are also listed). In the Data Encryption box select WEP and then either type the WEP key or tick the box 'The key is automatically provided' if you are using RADIUS to Authenticate users.
If you select WPA then you only have the option of TKIP as the encryption type. If you select WPA-PSK then you must provide the Pre-Shared-Key. If you have an AKU 3.3 version that supports WPA2/WPA2-PSK then you can select AES encryption as well.

Hi there,
I've just upgraded my HTC Tattoo to the SP-FroYo v2.2.1 AOSP ROM, I had hoped some WiFi problems had been solved. At my work we have a WPA2-PSK encrypted network which also sends out a WPA-PSK encrypted network. Only my HTC Tattoo shows it as a WEP encrypted network, but I can't connect. I use a WPA2-PSK encrypted network at home and it works fine.
Is there a update available to fix some WiFi signals?
Thanks!
Did you had a costum ROM before that one?
Sometimes, if something doesn't work, i allways flash oficial ROM first, then root and finally flash the costum ROM.
Cheers
I had the original ROM before this, and in that ROM it didn't work either!
Have you tried to go to :
Settings > Wireless Controls > Wi-Fi Settings and press the Menu button, select Advance > Regulatory domain
And tell the phone to use (all) 14 channels.
Cheers
It still isn't working, it recognising it but I can't connect

control wifi security type of router. wpa is better for android. you may have problems with wep security
...after the phone has scanned for wifi it brings up WPA/WPA2 PSK alongside the network name...after keying in the security password it just wont connect.......keeps connecting and disconnecting......seem to be having the same problem at me mates house aswell!!

Try a trila and error - disable security on the router completely for a few minutes and see if it stays connected. If it does stay connected without security, download the latest tytung kernel package from his thread, extract the wpa_supplicant from /system/bin and push it to the /system/bin in your android. See if that helps.
ok..thanks for your reply... i will try this out...if it does the trick you will have to advice me on the system bin thing!!!!!.........sorry i am new to android romming...might possibly drop you a email....
