No problem. Here it is again:

Thx a lot Moti for such quick response. I have downloaded and installed the file. It works well now on my Window Media. Great man you are.

Hi Moti,
It is me again. Not withstanding my earlier reply, after installing the midi cab, midi files play well on WM player (Version 10.3 Build 21202 by xplode). However oftentimes when WMA files start to play for a short while, they will pause a little before continuing. Please help me again. Thx a lot.

If I am not mistaken (and please correct me if I am), WMP does skip/freeze, every so often. I don't use it so I can't really say, but I have read countless posts with reports from people having this same kind of issue with WMP.

Like egzthunder1 said, this is an old problem. I only really need midi support for my ringtones so I never really cared that it skips after a bit.
Sun dream's 6.5 ROM has midi support built in so you might want to give it a try and see if it is better at the skipping problem.

You are right, Moti and thank you for the help thus far, and thank Egzthunder for his reply.
I have used Sun dream's 6.5 Rom before, the WMP plays well with both midi and wma files- no skipping problem. A great Rom indeed. However, and this is not to discredit Sun Dream at all, a number of features still need improving, including Today Screen that wouldn't respond instantly to changes, no One Note mobile and it happened to me the IE stopped to function and displayed no connection after a few usage.
I have since moved to Xplode's ROM, which provides me with those needed features thus far. A great ROM indeed. However no support for midi files. I may seek help from Xplode on this, as he has developed his ROM, to some extent, with help from Sun Dream's.

Hi motisu,
thanx for the cab - MIDI is now working. The sound quality is a little bit poor, but anyway: At least I hear something with my MIDI-ringtones.
Sorry, but the sound is really not so nice - maybe that is concerned with my BA.
Thanx and Greetz,
hamaman

This program is what you need. I've only tried it with Windows Media Player, but it should work well with others.

tcpmp help ahhh

i would like to get tcpmp workin on my 8525 but i cant figure it out, perhaps i can get some help?
i searched quite a few keyword strings reffering to my issue which is more audio focused than video but nothing so here i am asking.
at first, i was getting the tcpmp flickering issue and went into options->video and changed it to raw framebuffer to fix that but upon every entrance to tcpmp (which is installed to my main memory) i get the popup error:
"player: MPEG4 AAC Audio decoder not included! It was removed from the official install package because of intellectual property consinderations."
i get the video from most of my files but no audio, figured it could b an audio issue but my only choice under options->audio besided the default Wave Ouput (which doesnt work) is Null Audio and/or Disabled and neither of those seem logically correct.
Windows Media Player stops during video play often when playing mp4 files, sometimes neway and it gets annoying.
thanks in advanced
i tried installing the supposed tcpmp .81 i read about in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=275255&page=4
and the audio works but no video, reguardless of wut video choice in the options menu..
and btw. not sure if itll happen everytime but my phones completely frozen right now after trying to exit tcpmp .81.. attempting soft reset now =X
i guess i solved my own problem, sorry mods for wasting forum space, the issue with the audio was corrected with TCPMP .81 which Teo2005 points us to at:
http://story.cetizen.com/akebi/tag/tcpmp
and the new video issue was solved with the soft reset. works nicely, even with a video that i couldnt previously open.
no negative drawbacks yet.

It's good to see someone work through an issue and show us the steps taken and the positive outcome achieved. I do not consider this a waste of forum space. There are much more obvious wastes of space around!!!!
Mike
Thanks for the link, trinic101. I, too, am able to view avi and wmv files with no flickering at all on my 8525. After a month of disappointments, TCPMP actually works! I guess I won't go back to PalmOS after all! Snicker!!!! No, really!

TCPMP problems on Ameo

Well, my Ameo arrived this morning, and I've been busy installing all my usual software. Loving it so far...
I've installed TCPMP 0.72RC1, but i'm getting very jerky playback with avi files which play ok on my Universal. The sound is ok, but i'm getting about 1 frame per second, and going fullscreen makes it give up completely.
Also, with TCPMP running, but no file loaded, I get flickering streaks across the centre of the screen.
Anyone know what's going on here, and how I can solve it?
Thanks in advance.
Edit - problem now solved - see other thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1178850#post1178850

Hmm, the homepage is down, and so is the mirror at picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/
I've attached the cab file which I found in my Activsync folder, but it seems I didn't save the whole installer.
See if it works, but you'll still need to find the plugins for it if you want to use the aac codec.
Turn off Smooth Zoom and Acceleration under video optons.
I had same thing on X7500, under video, switch to direct framebuffer, thats all...

Try the following:
Search your music database for a folder with write protection enabled. Disable this write protection and see if this fixes issue.
Manila player needs write permissions to these audio folders, because manila puts a hidden cover art file in each audio folder: hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg
Hope this helps...
Solution from vBoedefeld
same issue for me too.
this solution did not work
Hmmm. Okay, what can we do alternatively?
Anybody here to help us?
I think this bug is because of the writing protection which can not be disabled for an unknown reason!
Was doing some fiddling last night (as mentioned in another thread) and it, for me at least, appeared to be a problem with the program a mp3 was compressed with.
All my lame mp3s work fine but as soon as I copy one which dbpoweramp says was compressed with FHG all mp3s stop after a few seconds.
thanks!

[SOLVED] .Mp3 as alarm sound

hello wonderful people of the xda community!
im desperately trying to set a mp3 track as my alarm ringtone without any luck sadly. Can someone please help me? Thank you in advance!
Solved by converting the mp3 to a wav file and placing it to the windows folder.
G-Alarm is the best (UI). Now is not free. So you will need to look for old free version
BUMP
Really need to know this. I have been searching, but it seems like there are differences between the WinMo 6.5 builds, and I have tried different things, but none worked for me. pls help ppl!

You can use mp3 files for the alarm, but there's a size limit, and I can't remember what it is. I compressed a song down (I think it was about 2MB when I finished) and it then worked, but wouldn't before that.
Just copy it to the Windows folder and it should show up in the list.
Actually, I take it back. I had to convert it to a WAV file before I could use it as an alarm. There definitely was a size restriction too.
If you don't have anything, googling will turn up plenty of freeware apps for converting audio files from type to type.
thank you very much sir. if that works I will be very very happy. there is no problem in converting the mp3s to wav files.
If you use G-Alarm, there is an issue on HD2.
It could be the g-sensor - if you deactivate all settings about the g-sensor, then G-Alarm is running without freezes.
