When sms is sent, there's a notification of it. Is there any way to turn off the sound notification, while still leaving the popup one? The 'trrring' sound on every sms sent notification is very irritating.

have a look in start-settings-sonds/notification.... the you might choose it.....

is there any way to turn off the sound when i get the notification after each text message sent on o2...its getting annoying because I cant find any options to turn the sound off even when the phone is set to vibrate.
i have the same problem, and the sent message notification hack doesn't solve it.
it seems whenever you send a message the wizard makes a sound and shows your updated balance.
i'll try and figure it out, anyone any ideas? it seems to be a service thing as it happened on the magician and razr phones also.

What 'balance' do you see..... I just get the default "Message sent" popup
you should be able to disable notifications in the account settings of sms. I for one like the notification, I just would like to give them another sound or volume...
Hi All,
if i sent an SMS i get the Notification that the SMS has been sent. I click on the ok button, and about 1-2 Seconds later, my X1 starts to vibrate which actually should belong to the sent notification.
Does anyone else have the same "problem".

i can change my ringtone, my alarm tone my notification tone but not SMS tone !
i've been trying for hours, looked all over the web, on various sites, still no answer..
please please help me out of this hell...

if you have changed your notification tone, then you have succeeded
it IS the message tone
He is right, it is the notification. Just touch messages, press menu and then settings, you'll see it asks for notification.

Not on my X10 :/ i change the notification tone it just changed the tone when i plug my usb cable in or when a download is complete, not when i recieve a SMS... =[

Anyone else have this 'problem'?
Whilst viewing an sms conversation, if i receive an sms the notification tone just keeps sounding and there is no way to stop it unless you force close the messaging (or swipe it away in the running programs list)
I use the 'hangout' tone as ususaly it keeps sounding until you pull down notification bar or go into messaging app.

That's because hangout is a ringtone and not a notification.

OK thanks didn't realise that.
Still doesn't explain it getting stuck on when in messaging atop though...
Wondering if there is a setting or app that I haven't find that will either turn on the screen, or give me an audible sound when i receive a text message while I'm on the phone. I actually am on the phone about 4 hours a day, with no notification I reply to text messages later than I would like.
