Serial number starts with "TY" - Wing, P4350 General

Anyone else have this? Do I have to registrer it somewhere specific?
The e-Club is rejecting it.
Does anyone know?

Enter your IMEI in e-club

thanks for your help, that doesn't work though ...

Do you have an actual HTC device or is it something else? The eClub will only accept HTC branded devices.

it's an actual HTC. HTC sent it to friends of mine for testing purposes (they were building software for it) so they got a pre-production unit.
But it's a real HTC for sure.

Being a preproduction unit, it was probably never entered into that system.

e-club is more or less useless if your on this forum (i think so anyways). If theres any software you need its prob already up here or i'm sure if you need something there is someone friendly enough to give it to ya if you ask nicely.

Cant register phone (e-club)

Hey guys, newb here...Ive tried to register my phone bought from expansys.ca on the e-club site. it wont work though, says its not a HTC product or something along those lines.
Can anyone help?
thanks in advance,
Tom
Did you select the right product? And was your IMEI numbers correct? Sometimes it reads 17 digits when you press *#06# and the first 15digits is only your IMEI!
Still, HTC e-club has lot of bugs where it wont send activation mails to many..
I was copying the exact number beside "S/N" on the batterie.
Dial *#06# does it give the same number? STill, dont worry dude, any specific reason for HTC e-club when xda and other sites are better
No it doesnt give the same number, actually its completely different...Why would that be?

It is correct that it is a completely different number. E-club asks for your serial and the #*06* gives you the IMEI-code these are supposed to be different. S/N can only be handled by the manufactorer, IMEI is completely unique for every device.
I tried the same today, and after leaving out the character that comes after the S/N it stated that my device is branded, so not a typical HTC device. Mine is Vodafone, your's might be modified by your provider.
I have a question myself though... How can I update to WM6, since I don't have access to e-club updates, because my device is branded?

Unlock from imei unlock and flash any ROM, or you can wait until Vodafone releases an update. Btw the e-club only benefits (actually not really sure what you benefit from this site) users with P4350's branded by HTC, and regarding the posted WM6 rom on their site there are much faster mirrors posted around the web.
I guess the main question to ask is : what is your phone?
If you are trying to register a phone that isn't an actual HTC BRAND phone like a T-mobile Wing or whatever ... then it won't let you. If I try to register my TMO wing on there, it will say the same thing that it's not an HTC product.

interesting challenge with a PH20B2

Hi everyone: I came another time with a curious problem.
I got a vodafone Spain v1620 (PH20B2) apparently with touchscreen problems only. I got the maainboard and installed it into another BA I have with other problems (that
markanthonypr and + Que ppc knows perfectly ).
I have done all the procedures just to unlock it and know the situation is: with a movistar sim the BA recognize it, gets signal.... but if you make a call the phone hangs up inmediately, and if you call from other phone to the BA the movistar service tells you "this action is not available".
That means the phone cames broken?
I have also to say that I've tried, with the wises advises of Xplode, installing a vodafone rom (but I only got the UK one) and nothing.
Any idea?
I answer myself
After some investigation, I asked the vendor on ebay and he told me he "found it" the BA. I suspect in no well way the kind of finding he did. Even though if he really found it in some place, I think vodafone has lock the phone through blocking the imei. That means I have a wonderful pda with no phone.
Haven't I?
And also means there are people interested in doing business no matter they have to lay.
carred66,
To answer your question, if the device was indeed stolen, then you are 100% correct about your statement of having a great PDA with no phone due to IMEI blocking.
If you bought it off ebay, you should return it to the seller asking for a refund. AFAIK, ebay has rather strict policies on "found" goods.
Having said all that, unless you are contributing with something to the forum (programs, skins, roms, patches, etc.), please refrain from opening new threads. While I understand that your problem was kinda unique and did not seem to have an answer from us, that does not mean that you should open a new thread with your problem.
I know that you are aware of the Q&A section because you have several posts in there, so please keep on using that unless you have something to contribute (then, you can have your own thread )
Thanks.
copy that!
But the seller sold it only telling that it had screen problems.
I think it'll works out of Spain. Thats funny, isn't it?
maybe if you want... to spend money for it...
I mean just for the grace of have a BA working well!
You can make the IMEI Check and pay a little money maybe they can make something for ya...

HTC Hero on three mobile UK

Not sure if this the correct place to discuss, however i have a HTC Hero on three , i have gold carded it back to generic rom and wanted to remove the carrier unlock, however nobody seems to be able to do this, the IMEI number is coming back as unrecognized. I would really like to use this in place of my work phone with a Vodafone SIM , has anybody come across this problem and been able to work around it ?
Mark
the imei database may not have ben updated yet, that is why yours is not recognised.
does anybody have any experience of how long the updates take to the database ? I have had money refunded from 2/3 unlock companies i have tried. Unlock-Now have gone quiet on me ... not sure if they are working behind the scenes to fix or because i mentioned the word refund

[Discussion]Activation code is universal for all WP7 devices...

Well, basically, I contacted MS Chat support through a Hotspot Shield proxy, I'm an UK user and used an US mobile number and fake email address, didn't give out any information other than those two things.
I wasn't asked for a model number, not HTC, HD7 or any thing, no IMEI number, and so on. What I've learned today is a mistake everyone else is making when activating the HD2 is that they are telling MS that they have a HD7. The activation code is universal for all WP7 phones so it wouldn't matter if you said it was an HTC phone or an LG one, it's the same thing.
What's everyone elses view? Should people be more smarter and give a different model number next time rather than making Microsoft suspicious by saying you have a HD7?
Edit: Also, I apologise if there is already a thread on this, if so, close this one and point me in the right direction.
dude waste thread ..
every body know all of these .. that happened is your luck
random question asked .. you may got a beginner ...
Yeah, I didn't say HD7, I just said my windows phone 7 is asking for an activation code and I can't seem to find it.
some times they ask which make .. what model , IMEI etc ...in that case normally every body do disconnect the call ... i did twice
me i dont have that problem my activation code works every time i flash
Thing is, I see _alot_ of people telling MS they have a HD7, why don't they say they have another type of phone rather than get Microsoft suspicious?
I don't think it's people saying that they have an HD7 that makes them suspicious, it's the fact they are asking in the first place....when you buy a windows phone you don't need the code, it's only when you hard reset etc that you have to enter one....so whether or not you say HD7 doesn't really make any difference.....if you're in the uk and they tell you to "contact your regional service center (sic)" you just tell them you already have and they told you since you bought the phone in the US you should contact them.

No luck with that, the agent still insist me to contact my local service centre then disconnected me Maybe cause its 3am in the US the time I contacted them
Going to try this.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Quick question...I read a lot about the code and asking for it as well as that IF too many people use the same code they have a problem. The question is...what is a friend has a HTC 7 Trophy that's already activated and then phones in for a code...if they as for the IMEI number give that phones number. Will they lose their previous code and have to use the new one given or are the free one free to use for another phone. In other words...the live id is someone else's when asking for the code but in-case details are requested a current phones details are given...if all that makes sense

[Q] ROM Update ended up with Error:294

I know that there are lots of similar topics here, but as far as I searched no one could solve my problem.
I have a HTC HD mini registered for Inidia but I wanna install a GCC (Arabic) Rom on it.
I already have tested "DFT_SSPL_MINI" with official and shipped Roms and also the method "Update from SD memory card" but after each one I ended up with the Error:294 invalid vendor ID.
Does anybody know the solution? I saw some guys with similar problem had successfully changed their Roms by "DFT_SSPL_MINI" but I don't know what is wrong with my phone.
Still no reply?
is your phone carrier locked?( I guess so...)
How can I find that? My phone carrier is MTN
Does it really a matter of phone carrier? I thought it should be due to a software issue of my phone.
If you bought the phone from a GSM provider and you enagaged in a monthly subscription that means your phone is carrier locked and you can update the ROM only from their site!
Yes,it does matter since the phones will have CID(Carrier ID) locked!
Example:
"CID: Carrier Id - commonly used in the form `CID-Unlocking`. If you purchase your phone (example) from Qtek (Qtek is the 'carrier'), your phone will only accept Qtek ROMs (the carrier's ROMs). If you want to flash ROMs from other carrier, you'll need to CID-unlock your phone, so that your phone will accept other ROMs. Note: In general, the phrase 'unlock your phone' usually refers to SIM-unlock, not CID unlock."
Thank you for the information
But how to CID unlock? as I said in my above post I've already used the DFT_SSPL but with no result and getting the same error. Some guys say that the sspl ignores CID check and thus you can flash a custom rom on your phone but for me it didn't have any benefits.
Do you have any other ideas for me?
then u better ask who says that,i don't buy phones from carriers so i don't know much
you know guys, in where i live, when you decide to buy a phone you should only go to a shopping center and choose something looking good and affordable and nobody cares about the carriers, cause there is no carrier in there, and after buying you'll be encountered it is merely a garbage. It's confusing for me, I paid a lot of money for a phone and there is no way to change the software, why? It's only a software, I have the hardware in my hand. why is it such a complicated problem for hackers who hack everything?

well..if you or nobody from your country doesn't care about the carriers then live with the consequences
Windows Mobile is an OS,not a software and no,it is not complicated for hackers or developers to unlock this, they are just not interested in this phone.
there are tools which unlocks CID,try www.google.com or xda search function for further references.

only solution is to make gold card and install completely rom (including radio), but to do an gold card you must to buy revskills software -> http://revskills.de
With dft sspl you are not able to install radio becouse that feature is disabled for possibly device brick but with gold card you are abble installing everything!
Curently I testing an s-off and super cid for htc hd2 and I have success in super ciding hd2 but some problems in s-offing (it go to s-off but I am lost in nand chip becouse flashing is not possible after s-off) but I think photon and hd2 have something similar about that feature and if I done it for hd2 I will try to explain how to do it for photon... I think I will done it after we have working android nand or maybe if you found jtag pins for photon (I will try to do it by jtag)
Thanks Munjeni, for your helpful answer. I hope you to be succeed. If you came up with any results please keep me informed.
I'll try some Gold Carding...

Can we find out, whether the device we've CID unlocked or not before we change the ROM?
