1. Get ItsUtils here: http://nah6.com/~itsme/itsutilsbin-20070705.zip. You'll just need pdocread.exe (see attachment)
2. Unlock Cruise Security in Registry:
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies
valuename '00001001' was set to dword:2, change it to dword:1
3. Type in cmd.exe: pdocread -l
(it will list all disks in Cruise)
Output exemple:
114.75M (0x72c0000) FLASHDR
| 3.12M (0x31fc00) Part00
| 3.00M (0x300000) Part01
| 50.38M (0x3260000) Part02
| 58.25M (0x3a40000) Part03
.........
4. Select largest partition in FLASHDR to copy.
pdocread -w -d FLASHDR -p Part03 0 0x3a40000 os.raw
5. Wait wait wait ... and finish! you have your file os.raw. Send it to rapidshare or other and share it with us!

Well, it worked for me with a Trinity and VISTA.
What error do you get?
I've a DLL error:
ERROR: Source/host file does not exist 'C:\itsutils.dll'
- impossible fo found a file

ops... I've found this dll, all work fine. but now I've an ITReadDisk error (read 00000000 byte), read onlu 0k
My trinity cooked rom has all already by default all security disabled.
Maybe there are other security issues like disabling RAPI security.

I have it on raphidsare, one question, my polaris have my data on it, in that way the file os.raw, have my data too? Or not?
Or i need to do a hard-reset, and do it again? Please be honest.
( A rom tem os meus dados todos, ao fazer a cópia do file part3, com 111 megas, e, 24mb zipados, não seguem tb os meus dados, é q nesse caso, posso fazer um hard-reset, e fazer tudo de novo sem os meus dados e publicar o file. 1 Abraço)

Honestly I don't know. Here they say part3 includes user data so you'd better get part2 that has only imgfs.bin that's the rom without personal data.
Pelo que dizem no wiki é melhor sacar só
o part2 (o segunda maior) que tem apenas a rom sem os dados pessoais - é desnecessário fazer hard-reset!!

Yes, i'm gonna make a rom. Primary to Trinity but i can also do it for Cruise (i think Cruise rom is good enough) If you want tell me what should cooked cruise rom have so i can modified it.

Hi guys, I have been looking for a while now how to backup the Artemis ROM. I put up a little tutorial, hope you guys think it is usefull.

1. Download ITSUTILS by Itsme: http://nah6.com/~itsme/itsutilsbin-20070323.zip
2. Extract the files to a directory.
3. You will find pdocread.exe inside the extracted directory.
4. Make a directory somewhere on a disk, where you want to save the parts to lets say for example C:\ROM
Backup the following parts like this:
SPL:
pdocread -n 0 -b 0x20000 0 0x100000 C:\ROM\bdk0-spl.nb
CID:
pdocread -n 1 -b 0x10000 0 0x40000 C:\ROM\bdk1-0-cidarea.nb
GSM Data:

The instructions are very clear, try to read again guys. You have to type these commands in the DOS command window (Click Start -> Run..., type CMD on the Open box then Click OK)

0x3500000 instead of 0x350000
furthermore they are different from Artemis derivations
for ARTE100 (HTC P3300) it is 0x3900000
for ARTE200 (O2 Orbit) it is 0x3500000
for ARTE300 (LOVE, i.e Dopod M700) it is 0x3E00000

yes i know but the OS.nb gives an error and the program is bussy for about 2 minutes and there is no file in the c:\rom directory the onley thin i get is this message:

I have a O2 Xda Orbit 2 and it has a German OS (Rom- Version 1.24.207.2 GER) on it. I want to change it to english rom. What do I have to do, What is the safest way, so theres no brick ! Please help ! Thanks !
Just find out the MUI files of the Kaiser (they will help) or may be somebody will give you the orig MUI english files from Cruise and placed into the Windows directory, after that, go to the registry and find the path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\MUI
there just add the dword "0409"="US English"
go to system and there find regional settings > go to language settings
choose US English
reboot the device

I have also dug the threads and apparantly there doesnt exist a single working example for this. Theoratically a single "cab" file should do the trick should this be possible, pity not much support on this although it seems an important issue!

I supoposte that only DWORD for change the language systems is SYSLANG=1040 (for italian) It's in Hex value (410 = 0410)
OK, real nice, I dug the posts from qtek_metanol, and I think he is referring to his discussions related to the "Smartphone" Tornado. Well I don't believe what you can do for smart phones can be done to pocket PC. Smart phone comes with built-in support of language change, pocket PC does not!
Although I'm still 100% sure there has to be a less intrusive way than to change the whole ROM just for the language change, at the moment there is no support for this from any "genius."

No it doesn't, my native language is Spanish, but i live since a long time in Germany and I prefer German as the default language, if you send me the MUI files I would do a cab file for you. Be sure to send all the MUI's. because I don't wanna have to release multiple files for one thing

Just give me the MUI files, Ask energy59...!!! ha has dumped the italian ROM, may be he can offer you the files.
thanks, do you want my (german MUI file or italian MUI file?) Ijust have the Italian rom (.raw), if you want the german file i can extract by hand in windows folder, because the pdocread on my orbit don't found.

obviosly I need the italian MUI files, my phone is alrealdy in German.

I need a dump of a German Rose ROM for developing a German ROM for the VOX. I already have a dump, but it is English and Russian. So far it works great, but I would like to add other languages (especially German )!
So if anybody could dump his/her ROM and upload it somewhere that would be great!

I use Kaiser kitchen to dump the Rose's ship Rom for porting tomy BlackJack II. Search Kaiser Kitchen in this forum.
Still nothing? I am really desperate for the German muis! The problem is that I don't have the files for HTC's stuff, the SYS isn't a big deal, there are lot's of devices with a German SYS, but none with HTC's stuff!

I tried from Link#2 TFFSDump.exe on S740 but that will not dump the ROM to SD Card. Following Error MEssage displayed: "Couldn´t get TrueFFS Info!"
the Application pdocread.exe from itsutils dont work too...
When I Start pdocread there was transfered a File/command whatever to Rose (S740) and I must accept this file on Rose. After I accepted i become this error message:
D:\itsutilsbin-20080923\pdocread.exe -i
Copying D:\itsutilsbin-20080923\itsutils.dll to WCE:\windows\itsutils.dll
Could not update itsutils.dll to the current version, maybe it is inuse?
try restarting your device, or restart activesync

I Try to find some issues with total commander on Smartphone...
Try to app unlock your device! I am really out of answers here...
I tried some RAPI Unlockers, some other tweaks that I known since WM2003... but :-(

But don´t forget before uploading to your HTC to unlock the Applicationstore with SDA Tool above ;-)

Well, I need these files for the Vox not the Rose. There are no German files yet, so thank you very much!
hehe, the VOX is the better one device. Better Keyboard, nicer look - only not much memory and a little slow. But the nicest Smartphone from HTC...
the modell after VOX (the Wings) was for the trash basket and the S740 I don´t love it too..
Now I Use a Nokia E71/E66, a Apple IPhone and a HTC Shift.
If you need my (fast) brandnew S740 ;-) Let me know... if not, maybe you have a good navigation solution for Rose for me ? ;-)

then i try to check if all partition sizes are correct but i think i need to specify a sectorsize.

Well it seems dumping the ROM as a backup would be a waste of time as it can not be re-digitally signed so could not be flashed back !....You would think there would be a bit more info about this on the forum
