So far I have not been able to find anything on using my ppc as a wifi dongle. I know many say just buy a dongle for your pc but honestly I don't have the money and more over I find it silly that Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, didn't decide to make this an option. My 3G coverage is spotty but I have access to wifi. So I'm pleading with all you wizard programmers on this amazing forum; can someone please find a way to use the ppc as a wifi dongle?

I don't know if someone had mention this before. This sounds a bit too demanding from a cellphone. Anyway, here it goes:
Is there anyway (software/mod etc.) that can make a WM6 device(mine is Herald) to function as a router, routing GPRS/Edge connection to other wireless devices? I know it's crazy, and I know if it really works it can probably only work under adhoc mode(i.e. only to one device) but not as a wireless base station, but it would be *really* sweet if I can have my own wireless Internet with me wherever I go, not only on the 320*240 cellphone.

Hallo everybody!
I want to know if there is any soft for WM, to catch wi-fi with ppc and share it through USB to PC. And if it exists could anyone share it? Thank you in advance...
Sounds like you'll be using your phone as a repeater? Sounds like a good idea.
As you already know you can share your 3G connection via USB. There's also this app,
PPC Wi-Fi Router
that allows you to make a router out of your connection as well. The phone as a repeater might not be available, yet. I may be wrong.
Someone else wish to chime in?
Thank you for reply, My laptops Wifi got broken so I wanted to connect Wifi through my Blackstone. And 3g connection is very expensive in my country (approximately 80 cent for 1mb). That's why I want to use Wifi.
Long story short, I don't have wi-fi nor I want to spend money for it. I tried Connectify/Virtual Router instead, both fail to share internet connection, instead they just emulate a wireless network without internet access. So no, please don't try to give me solutions if they revolve around wi-fi
Anyway, I know there's a way to let your PC connect to internet via your Android phone ( tethering, I suppose ), that's not what I want - I want to share my PC's internet connection to Arc via USB.
Help please ?
you spent 500$ buying a jewel-phone and you're not willing to give 30$ for a router with wi-fi?
~.~
As I said, don't bother with Wi-Fi comments please, why spend 30$ on something I would use maybe once per a week or two ?
Tethering is done insanely easy, why the **** is it so hard getting PC to share its internet connection to your phone ? I mean, come on now -.-"
See if this helps you

I did just google and found these but never tried them myself. See if you can make it work. Good luck. I would do it too if I could save a buck
I have been using the iconia (also my first android device) for a about a week now and I love it, but I have been searching everywhere for a way to connect my blackberry phone over Bluetooth so I can tether.. and I've had no luck. I know its possible to with an android phone, so I know its at least capable of doing so.. just needs something to help. When I use to use an iPod, I used an app called ibluever to connect and tether my bb as a modem, and was hoping to see if anyone could make something like that for this? (I will pay for it)
My main uses for this tablet is portability, internet, and fun and I feel like if I can't find a way to tether than I will probably just return this and buy a ipad 2 since I know I can tether and do most of the same things android offers. I'm not an apple fan boy by anymeans, and I don't really even want an ipad, Im almost just thinking I might get more use out of it if this is the case ya know
Blutooth DUN is not supported by Android, and it does not looks like this is going to happen in the next future.
Neverthess keep in mind that sharing your HSDPA connection via bluetooth , offers you some poor performances due to the fact that the bluetooth bandwith can not exceed 1mb/s
The most effcient solution ( as far as internet sharing performance is concerned ) would be to replace your blackberry with an Android phone, an Iphone or a Nokia, that can all support wifi tethering.

I have looked but can't find a solution. I have the transformer 101 tablet and can't get it to connect to my tmobile mytouch 4g. I'm posting in this forum because I can get the tablet to connect to my computer so I figure it has something to do with the phone. I'm trying to get a bluetooth connection so I can tether. I don't use much data but I'd like to know I could do it with the tablet and make a connection if wifi not around. I have rooted and installed stock Android 2.3.4. I don't know much about Bluetooth or WIFi but from my readings I'm think it might have something to do with PAN BT profile. If this is the case, is this a software thing? Is their a ROM that has the PAN BT profile? I like some of the Sense Apps so I'd like to stay with a stable Sense ROM. I'd like to be able to stream Navigator when I need it or brows the internet while waiting in the parking lot for my husband. Yes I can do it on the phone but my eyes are bad and a larger screen is so nice. I don't come anywhere near a GB of data each month...just want to be able to connect when sitting in my car and give myself a bigger screen.
I must be missing something here. Why not install wifi tether or one of the myriad sense 3.5 ROMS in the dev section that ALL have a working wifi hotspot?
Well my thinking may be wrong on how Bluetooth and wifi work but I was thinking there isn't always a wifi connection, but there would always be a signal with bluetooth connecting the tablet to the phones 3G and 4G. I was hoping that, if tablet paired to phone when traveling, I could use the bigger screen on the tablet and navigation would run like on the phone. I'd like to use the tablet as much as possible and I'm thinking that in the country there wouldn't be any wifi hotspots. Sorry if I've got this all wrong. Most of the time I would use wifi and I've only used that at home or work....never hotspots.
As far as ROM's go, I was thinking of the Virtuous Affinity or Unity ROM's but didn't know if they were going to give me the bluetooth connection I was looking for. I can't remember but thought I read that you couldn't do some things in 3.5 that you could do with ealier versions. Do you know why the tablet can't connect with the MyTouch? Is it the PAN BT profile. I know the tablet doesn't do adhoc. Sorry but I did try to read up on it. I was just thinking of the message I see. They are paired but they wont connect. I click on the bluetooth device but it doesn't connect
I've tried to understand what your asking but I'm still confused. Are you trying to make a wifi hotspot off your phone, then connect your transformer to the hotspot, to use the internet?
If I helped, give thanks, if you please.

There a couple things wrong with this post 1) the tablet does support and use AD-HOC tethering. I know that for a fact because I've had people connect to my home network via my tablet just to show off. Pretty embarrassing making them use my Android Tablet to connect their iPad to my home network. 2) If you are just wanting to use your tablet as a navigation unit, use the Google maps while you are connected to WiFi to find directions to where you want to go, then press the navigate button. It'll work w/o a data signal. I've done it several times. 3) you don't need blue-tooth to bridge the Tablet to the phone. This doesn't work like Blackberries and the playbook. You can use the Wi-Fi Tether .apk from Google's source code to do just that. [http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list] 4) There has to be a blue tooth stack installed on the Phone, and on the Tablet that will allow them to share blue tooth connections for Internet. I have TF101 and have yet to find such a BT stack.
